The Oculus Quest gives the wearer a great VR experience without worrying about tripping over cords or needing a gaming computer to play games. I found the Quest to be easy to use and the Touch Controllers became like second hands after a little practice. I had used inexpensive VR goggles with my phone inside before but that could not prepare me for the incredible immersive aspect of the Quest. It may not be on par with high end systems costing a couple of thousand dollars but you can’t easily take those with you to a friends house or on vacation . The Quest will bring VR to a new audience and should usher in a new era for this evolving technology.

I got this to enhance my experience from Oculus GO and to try the work out games. It has been amazing all around! The 2 controllers and amazing graphics change the entire experience. I use the BoxVR and after 2 weeks lost 5# and 10"!! I can now work out when traveling without leaving hotel room. Highly recommend getting the protective covers to protect the foam from sweating users. Have used every day since purchased and a great hit for family gatherings! The First Steps game gives the user full instructions and different experiences to learn how to use the Quest. Cannot wait to try new games as they come out!!

The quest is the first VR system I've personally owned, though I had experience playing a friends Oculus Rift in the past on a few occasions. The benefit of not being held down by cords alone makes this system far superior to the RIft in my mind, as it is such a freeing experience to have a VR system to adapt to any size room you can find (you could literally take this in a warehouse or garage and use the entirety of the space. The camera's are surprisingly accurate when it comes to keeping track of the barriers in your room (you draw the barriers on first use in a sort of infrared looking vision of your room), and the controllers are TOP NOTCH accurate. I am honestly so impressed with facebook continually pushing upgrades to this system (now rolling out full hand tracking *without controllers* in the menu screens, the ability to switch to camera view if you say - need to use the Restroom, Oculus Link Beta, etc). They easily could have gone the route of a certain phone maker, and put out countless headset versions every year, but the fact they are really trying to hone in on all the possible uses of the technology before baiting customers into an upgrade says a lot about their studio. With Oculus Link Beta you can now also hook your Quest up to a gaming desktop/gaming laptop, and use ALL of the functions of the Rift, and to my knowledge with better headset resolution than the Rift. I WILL SAY, Link Beta is still RIDDLED with technical glitches when it comes to the set up process, it can be quite finicky to get it connected to the oculus app on your desktop, and sometimes fails... but once you are set up and rolling, the ability to access the entire SteamVR library is HUGE. If you are a hardcore gamer and don't plan to delve into Link Beta/PC-VR, you may find the oculus quest store *curated by Facebook* game and app selection to be a tiny bit limited, but I have a lot of respect for the vision of FB to only allow apps they see as worthy of their store. SteamVR, though huge in its app and game database, is riddled with paid apps that offer horrible experiences on a technical level (and yes reviews exist to warn of such things, but still) and contains a TON of adult XXX content, making the quest especially a no brainer for parents who are buying for kids, as FB does not allow any xxx content on the quest store. The value of getting a quest for around the same price as a standard new gaming system, while having a completely engaging and otherworldly experience is astonishing to me, kudos to FB on the price

Overall I am pleased with the Quest, Easy set up and connection, a few free games to download. It would be nice if you could get Mail, Messenger and a wider variety of apps to download.
Battery life in the controllers is very short, I am constantly replacing the AA battery in each controller.
Tried watching a Netflix movie and it took 3 attempts to make it the whole way thru it, the headset is a bit too much after a half hour or so when your just sitting still but while playing a game it is not noticed at all. I recommend downloading the Rec-room and play some Paint Ball, its the best free app in my opinion.

I wanted to purchase a VR system (for a gift) without breaking the bank. I know most systems must be run through PCs or other devices, and if you're a hard core gamer, the difference would probably be noticeable to you. But for my purposes, this was perfect. I thought the VR experience was wonderful, graphics were amazing, and it was easy to set up. There were some comfort issues with how heavy the headset is, but from the one other VR system I had tried out, it wasn't any different. Everybody who was able to take a turn on it was delighted.

This is an excellent stand-alone system. easy to set up and play. Some light leaks from the nasal side. battery life is not the greatest. they say 3.5 hrs but dies in 2 hrs. The display could be a little sharper. The youtube VR videos have a horrendous resolution. I guess the next oculus would have better resolution. The FOV is also not good as others,... but this is 1/3 the price of other systems. If you want decent stand alone then this is the one. But if you can wait, then I am sure they will be coming up with much better systems in few months.

Purchased this for my 13yr old gamer son for Christmas and is completely enthralled with it. System is wireless works via Wifi and an account you set up. Battery life is about 2hrs. Graphics are impressive and equipment is nicely designed and streamlined (well done Facebook).
Note: If one is prone to sea, car or air sickness you may want to test drive one of these first. Also, some of the games can be physically exhausting so be aware of physical limits and have a large enough indoor space to play I think 8' diameter is the minimum area required.

Yes the graphics aren’t as good as the rift or the rift S. Yes it’s slightly annoying that the battery only lasts about 2 hours while being used.
Buy the quest. Just do it. Play for an hour wirelessly and tell me it isn’t worth it. I dare you. I’m still having phantom wire touches, where I think I’m getting tangled up because I’m not used to playing wireless. It’s amazing.

First off, it is not close to the quality of the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift but those require a very expensive gaming computer you must be tethered to. This is a stand alone VR set with processor built in.
This means you can take it anywhere (indoors).
Since it is not as powerful as those you can get motion sickness much easier, however, my young sons never experience it.
I recommend getting the 128GB because I have already filled up half of my internal hard drive
We have only had it 4 weeks and already collectively have spent well over 100 hours on it.

It exceeds all of my expectations on game play and the intuitive interface is so easy to use. It’s the stuff I dreamed of in the 90’s as the ultimate video game.
The downside is the potential of serious motion sickness. Some of the games are so immersive when it comes to movement within the game it can be very disorienting. Even the more immersive games do have the option to keep them immersive or change to “comfortable” which helps. If your sensitive to motion sickness this may not be for you.

I purchased my Quest two weeks before Xmas not realizing this would be a hard to find item the next week and I’m so glad I purchased when I did. The set up was so easy.
I’m not a gamer so purchasing this was just an experiment for me. I SO LOVE IT! The only con to this is the motion sickness I’ve experienced with one game (so far); not good at all. My grand daughter loves the games also and to be able to cast to my TV is great; I can see/help her when she has questions or is stuck. I’m 54 and will be using this until I can’t.

Pros:
+ Standalone VR (doesn't need a PC)
+ Can be connected to PC to play a wider variety of games
+ Solid build quality and battery life
Cons:
- Small selection of titles with replayability in Oculus store
- Screen door effect is there if you look for it
- Connecting to PC can be kind of janky without a proper USB-C port
Overall, this is the best headset for VR right now since it does not require a powerful computer (or a computer at all). Conversely, if you have a strong PC, you can connect and play games with higher fidelity graphics at a smoother frame rate. The games are a bit lacking at the moment, but the best are truly stunning. This is the future.

I had tried this in Best Buy and was sold! I own a PlayStation VR since almost day one. In my opinion the Oculus Quest is just slightly less in the graphic department compared to the PSVR. The Oculus Quest though has no cords which in its own adds another level of realism. I was though highly impressed with the graphics though for a stand alone unit. I was on the fence but have no regrets in my purchase and glad I did. The Quest is my go to for VR because like I said being untethered as a whole new level to the game!

I thought VR was a cheap gimmick for a while until i had the opportunity to try this VR headset. Unbeatable value in comparison to higher end headsets for a fraction of the cost and little to no difference in features. The lack of wires makes this item great for traveling and portability within your home. You can now connect this to your PC and play more graphically demanding titles, which in my opinion makes the Rift S model inferior. Highly recommend really fun experience for anyone in your family.

This is an amazing piece of engineering. If you haven't tried real VR before, this is the device that is going to make it go mainstream and gain mass adoption. It is untethered, meaning it does not require a high power computer to be connected to it. There is no long cord to trip on. The fact that this runs on a self contained mobile processor is nothing short of amazing. The graphics aren't going to be as good as a high end PC, but I can tell you having played in this thing for several weeks now, that it is not that far off. It is hard to explain what it feels like to be in another world and have it feel so real. I have shown this to friends and family and after trying it once they decided to buy one as well. This is going to be THE gift this upcoming holiday season. This is completely different from the phone based vr headsets like gear VR and Google daydream. The Quest has 6 degrees of movement. Most inexpensive headsets offer 3 degrees of movement. That means you can actually walk to things and lean in for a closer view. 3DOF means you can look around in 360 degrees, but everything stays at a certain distance away from you. You really do have to try it to believe how cool it is. You can cast what you're seeing to a Chromecast, phone, or tablet so other people in the room can see what you're doing. It makes it much more social and great for parties and family fun. (Not every game supports casting) It is easy to setup and has some safety guards to try and protect you from running into your furniture when in VR.
I can't recommend this enough. You won't be disappointed.

I own every major VR headset (Vive, Rift, PSVR) and this is the one I play the most due to it’s simplicity and lack of wires. It really is the Wii of VR - in other words, not nearly as powerful as other options, but a LOT of fun, easy to use, and appeals to a much wider audience.
Plus, if you’re more technically inclined, you can get into side loading on the Quest which opens a world of VERY cool things you can do making the Quest an incredible value. It’s probably the coolest piece of tech I’ve purchased in years.

This is the Best VR for both worlds (tetheredless ot tethered) Great game play with great graphics. Yet you are not tethered to a pc. Now if you want to play some computer games, you can in the near future. Some additional cast will apply. E.G. link cable and/or PC video card. This was my choice for freedom and expandability. Grewt games, with more to come. Oculus (Facebook) is always updating the software to improve and perfect. This is the perfect entry VR, that won't be a waste of your money.

A little background; I have every Oculus VR headset ever produced to date, including each of their SDKs (Software Developer Kits), and our software company backed Lucky Palmer when he first placed his idea in Kickstarter. If you are looking for the top of the line VR experience WITHOUT being tethered to a high performance gaming PC, your hunt is over! Rumor has it there will be a back order problem in the very near future due to the coronavirus so don’t delay. I do not recommend the Oculus Go model, which is the other standalone VR headset. The battery life is not up to par and the charging cable is ridiculously short as the they not recommend keeping it plugged to power even if you are watching a movie or some other application not requiring movement. The Oculus Quest has a very long charging cable and you may keep it charging in cases like this. That said, the battery life within the Quest is amazing. I’ve gone for at least 4 hours solid and still have some reserve. By the way, if you do have a gaming PC (check the specs before you buy) go with the Oculus Rift S model.) Lastly, in either the Rift S or the Quest model, go with the largest memory. In the case of the Quest that is currently 128 Gb. The reason is, once you have it you cannot add memory, and the price isn’t that much more comparing the two models. Hope this helps, and BEWARE! This thing will rock your world and it absolutely addictive! Enjoy!

The Oculus Quest is fantastic. Takes you into a whole different world. Everything is so real that you kind of brace yourself for what is coming before you put it on. It is virtual reality at its best. Anyone who wants to experience true virtual reality should get this. Requires no computer, no wires. ....Just the headset and hand controllers. I also use it with my Virzoom bike and I've never exercise so much and it's fun because one minute you're chasing bandits or riding pegasus or out on a bike excursion.

I was worried that it wouldn't be a big improvement from my galaxy phone vr set up. Very wrong. I love this thing. Beat Saber is awesome and most of the titles I've loaded are stunning. There isn't much free content UT with the quality of the experience, they are worth it. The set up is easy and the Guardian functionality to make sure you don't run into anything is great. Tracking with the handheld remotes has been fantastic. Very seldom loses track of where my hands are. Very happy with my purchase.
