Customers are saying

Customers commend the TG-860 16.0-Megapixel Waterproof Digital Camera for its excellent image quality, robust waterproof and durable design, and convenient flip screen. Positive feedback also highlights the camera's useful GPS capabilities and its competitive price point. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and low-light performance is a potential area for enhancement. The camera's Wi-Fi functionality is also a frequently cited advantage.

I love this camera because it is waterproof, easy to use, and the screen can be flipped up to see what your selfie will look like while you're taking it. I do a lot of water activities, and have never had it leak or malfunction. Buy a camera flotation device (attaches to camera and loops around your arm or wrist), and you won't have to worry about dropping it--it will float to the top if you do, so no lost camera! The only downside is that the camera is slightly longer than most point-and-shoot cameras, so it was harder to find a case to fit it. Most of them were just a little too small, or way too big.

I was a little skeptical about getting an under water camera because I was unsure if it was really going to work, or if I was going to have to bring it right back from vacation and write a terrible review because it had broken. The honest truth is that it not only worked but took some of the best shots underwater, in the ocean, at night , and during the day that I had gotten from any camera I bought before this. I stand behind my decision and really recommend this one to anybody, especially if you want to take some really great shots by the water without the fear of it falling in.

Great camera for it to be waterproof. It was nice to be able to go to the beach and take pictures without the worry that I would drop it or get it wet. Could use a better strap. And I would suggest an extra battery. It didn't last as long as I'm used to with my normal camera and it takes a while for it to charge. Plus, you have to charge the battery with it in the camera. (Unless you purchase a separate charging station for it). Other than those few things, it works wonderful and I'm very pleased with it.

I compared several cameras in the waterproof point and shoot class and decided on the Olympus. I have not been disappointed. Camera has performed great and produced excellent pictures in a varity of lightning. I have yet to go deep under water with it yet but I don't suspect any problems. It's built solid. Very happy with camera overal and definitely recommend this one.

Was going on vacation and didn't want to lug my DSLR around. Researched it and this camera was highly recommended as a point shoot waterproof camera. I was scared of the flip screen at first but it has not failed. Pictures underwater were excellent and upon returning from the vacation the kids have used it countless times and have taken excellent clear pictures. I would easily recommend this camera.

I bought this for snorkeling and kayaking. So far, I used it for snorkeling and it worked great, although it took a while to get the hang of underwater photography. I am looking forward to using it for other active sports without having to worry about getting it wet or dirty. I also considered the Olympus TG-4, but this was so much cheaper and offered just about everything the TG-4 had.

This is our second Olympus Camera. The first lasted many years, went on many vacations. Got dropped a few too many times & the body finally cracked but it still worked. Needed a new waterproof, durable canera so I bought another. It's easy yo use, lots if features. My 12 year old likes to use it too. I love that it has Wi-fi & I can send pictures to my iphone with the Olympus app. Easy to upload to Facebook & Instagram from there.

We took this camera on our most recent vacation, and it takes the best underwater shots I've ever seen for a camera at this price. Combine that with the piece of mind that comes with having a camera you don't have to worry about water, sand, or dropping, plus a great zoom lens and great picture quality and there's no point in looking elsewhere. This is a great camera for all the abuse life can throw at it.

Bought this to use on my honeymoon for snorkeling and beach pictures, as we wanted something that wouldn't get damaged from either. The pictures were excellent both on land and in the ocean, although it takes some adjusting to make sure you get the right setting; just take a few test shots and it's easy to figure out. Highly recommend this instead of a much cheaper and less durable camera, or a more expensive but much clunkier camera.

Very good camera, takes really good pictures under water. Originally I bought a gopro, which I was not happy with its performance. This camera takes sharp pics, screen flips so you take selfies and also has very convenient button up front to take pictures.

Purchased this camera before a cruise in December to use for specific underwater excursions in the caribbean. So far the waterproof features have worked great and we were really pleased with the results of the pictures. Also got this on sale at Best Buy and then the price was reduced another $30 within 2 weeks of purchase and they credited me back the difference. Great customer service at Best Buy!

Camera takes crisp clear pictures and is easy to hold/grip. I have not taken it into the pool yet to see if it is truly water proof up to 50 feet as I was told it was. flip screen for selfies is nice, videos work well with a shaky hand.

Takes nice photos and love the flip screen. Only flaw is the tripod mount is not centered, which may cause the camera to shift to one side if mounted on a moving camera mount (i.e., on a bike or tripod). Love it otherwise

I had the Olympus Tough camera when it first came out and was happy with it then except the pictures came out a little washed out. Recently, I needed to replace it and after researching decided to go with the Olympus again. I only use this camera for water activities. I feel that the picture quality is better on the newer model and takes great underwater pictures and video. So far, so good. I am happy that I stayed with Olympus. Good camera for a point-and-shoot.

Did poorly in low light and poor zoom. You need to hold the camera still for a few seconds when under water or you get great pictures of bubbles.

This camera takes great pics and is very durable. Only complaint is how fast the battery dies due to the power the large display pulls leaving it own. But too big of a pain to turn off every time I take a picture considering I take 200 plus a day for work.

I have had 3 of these cameras in the past 8 yrs. I have to say this version of the tough series is a step back. My last one took much better pictures and was a bit simpler to use. I had this new camera 1 month and the waterproof seal busted on it. I don't even know where the water came in from. Everything was closed properly on the camera. This camera doesn't work well in low lighting. The image stabilizing features also are not as good as its predecessor. Was not uncommon to have blurry pics. With my previous camera I literally could do jumping Jacks and take great pictures. The only reason I bought this camera is I couldn't find a replacement battery for my old one in a timely mamner. Not an uncommon tactic by olympus. Change the battery with every new model.

This is a good camera to carry along with you. It is good for good quality pictures. It is waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about it getting wet in the rain or at the water park.
