Son loves this monitor for gaming, refresh speed is awesome!

The only problem that I have had that hasn't really bothered me much is that at least once after turning on the pc the monitor would sometimes flicker black once. This was probably due to me having a powerful pc though and this monitor wasn't suited to properly run it. Otherwise, its worked perfectly.

This monitor really performs well and looks great. I’ve played a few games now at 144hz and they look fantastic. I’m using this monitor with my Omen desktop so being able to have all the graphics turned to the max while running the monitor at 144hz really brings the games to life for a more intense and stunning gaming experience. I’ve also viewed some videos at 60hz and the picture quality is just beautiful. The monitor has an anti-glare screen and the design is minimalistic. There is a small rectangular plastic clip in piece for the back of the stand to run cables through but mine falls out easily. The stand is solid but the monitor wobbles somewhat when pressing the buttons or if the monitor is nudged. It does come with a VESA mount adapter for more options. The screen can tilt forward and backward on the stand. The power button and menu buttons are on the back right side and are not labeled. Pressing a button brings up the on-screen labels and you navigate from there. The menu has 7 preset “Viewing Modes”, the modes offered are; Low Blue Light, Night, Reading, HP Enhance +..., Gaming - FreeSync, Movie, Photo and Custom mode. I’ve found that the FreeSync mode looks the best for my usage. FreeSync is a technology designed to correct the issues of tearing and stuttering by synchronizing the graphics card to the monitor’s refresh rate. The monitor was nicely packaged and came with a variety of connection cables to use with the variety of connection ports, Display Port 1.2 and HDMI along with USB 3.0! Be sure to use the included Display cable if you want to run 144hz. I’ve heard some complaints about the colors on this monitor but I think they look great. As with every monitor you should sample all of the presets or create a customized setting. All-in-all I’ve been very happy with this monitor, though it is not a UHD monitor, for me personally having 144hz is more important and the price point is perfect. The price, the refresh rate, the versatile connectivity and the picture quality make this monitor a wise buy for any gamer.
