Great movie. Great Quality. No Digital Code

I ordered this film with Licence to Kill to finish my Bond collection on Blu Ray and digital HD. It’s a great film, and possibly one of the best Bond adventures. Trying to find this anywhere on the internet drove me insane, and it popped up “in stock,” so I jumped to purchase it here. I’m guessing it’s a repackage for No Time To Die hype? In 2015, the same box art is used and it includes the digital film. As you can see in the photos, this doesn’t include the code, but Licence To Kill does. I’m not that upset as I mostly watch my movies on physical formats anyway but when I return to college and watch movies digitally because it’s a pain to pack any movie I’d wanna watch, I may be sad that I can’t watch this specific movie. I’ll live, but I figured I should let people know it might not include the digital code.

Though Lazenby only did the one Bond film, they made a great cover design specially for the Steelbook based on the famous Bond movie intro collage. A great addition to any Steelbook collector for this Limited Edition Only@Best Buy.

    007: George Lazenby [Blu-ray] [1969]

At the time it was released, this was the best Bond film. The cinematography is so far ahead of the previous films that it is incomparable. The film does an excellent job balancing action, romance, drama, and intrigue. Despite having a slightly lower budget than the previous Bond film, "You Only Live Twice," nearly everything in the film is better done - and it is so drastically better than the films before "You Only Live Twice" that it is shocking they are from the same franchise. George Lazenby received a lot of criticism for his portrayal of Bond, but I did not dislike it. He provides us with the most human, the most vulnerable Bond. It is instantly more relatable than Connery's Bond, and Lazenby does an excellent job making Bond interesting without gadgets. Connery is more charming, of course, but I feel like too much of the criticism was simply because Lazenby's portrayal was so different from Connery's - it is not bad acting.

Blu ray Bond is best ! I am replacing all of my DVDs with the blu ray version for my 4K player and flat screen. Better picture, sound, and more durable disc.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a 1969 spy film about James Bond, 007. The only film to include George Lazenby as 007. George Lazenby as James Bond Diana Rigg as Countess Tracy di Vicenzo Telly Savalas as Ernst Stavro Blofeld Gabriele Ferzetti as Marc-Ange Draco Ilse Steppat as Irma Bunt Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny George Baker as Sir Hilary Bray Bernard Lee as M Bernard Horsfall as Shaun Campbell Desmond Llewelyn as Q Blofeld's Angels of Death Excellent installment of the Bond franchise including world wide locations, terrific acting, amazing filming, and spectacular stunts.

    The Almost-Forgotten, Underrated Bond Movie!

One of the reasons I enjoy hanging around Best Buy stores is rummaging through the stack of discounted DVDs with their list price of $3.99 each. I am presently reconstructing my collection of James Bond films, but not willing to spend on expensive collector's sets and/or Blu-Ray versions. So, finding a cheap DVD copy of this often-neglected installment in the 007 film series was a steal. 1969's "OHMSS" was the only Bond outing of the then-unknown Australian model George Lazenby. While he obviously still needed to hone his acting chops, he apparently handled the action scenes quite well. The film and plot with its romantic and tragic spin may have been quite ahead of its time for Bond fans back then and would have been an ideal vehicle for Bond actors who also happen to be strong thespians like Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig.

This film is underrated. The story is exciting, and it follows the original Fleming novel remarkably well. Lazenby suffered from comparisons to Sean Connery, but as time has gone on, his performance stands up. This Blue Ray edition contains special features including a few featurettes from 1969, plus audio commentary by the director, Peter Hunt.

This is an excellent Blu-ray transfer of a great Bond film. It was years since I saw this film, and it was much better than I remembered. George Lazenby is excellent as Bond, it’s too bad he only did one! This is one of the few films to be close to the source novel, so it’s quite different than almost any other Bond film. And of course Diana Rigg is superb. The special features are a bit disappointing, but at that price, I didn’t expect much.

I remember seeing this film as a kid and many more times growing up. I was probably one of the few that enjoyed George replacing Sean. Don't get me wrong Connery was and is still the best. to play Bond! But this film is special since it shows Bond's human side. I thought casting Diane Riggs and Telly Savalas was great. The film as a whole is very good and actually holds up better than Connery's Diamonds are forever not to mention the first two Roger Moore film's. I would recommend this film. I think the last few decades have changed people's opinion of this movie.

Her majesty's secret service has always been a favorite bond movie for me. Lots of action, a good story, and fun to watch for an old movie that was priced right. If you don't spend to much you will be happy with the purchase, it has a little bit of everything in it. I spent $6.00 on it with steel book case at Best Buy. The old school car scenes and fight sequences are kind of funny to watch compared to what we are use to today but hats off for the movie making at the time, it's very good for what they had to work with.

This is not one of the best because Lazenby just ISN'T Bond. Maybe that's not his fault. However, he is clearly meant to be there for the "human moments" particularly at the end, and is right for those. Telly Savalas makes a great Blofeld, but the slow revelation and the pantie chase plot is really plodding. Nonetheless, I've watched this over and over for Diana Rigg. She brings believability, urgency, warmth to her role as Tracy. The movie ends in great tragedy that resonates forever and kind of makes it required Bond viewing.

When this film was released in 1967, Bond fans suffered from Connery withdrawal and as a result, it went under-appreciated by audiences at the time. In the ensuing years, many have reversed their opinions and have come to realize that this is one of the better films of the series. Also, if one has ever seen INCEPTION, the action/dream sequence of storming the mountain fortress in winter seems to be borrowed heavily from this film.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is classic Bond with a twist. The twist is George Lazenby starred in his only James Bond movie. You may or may not like him as Bond but the story is really good with a shocking ending. The picture and sound are good though it could use a new scan. Most Bond fans probably have the movie but this one comes in a steelbook. For collectors, beware of dents and scratches.

Best Bond in Series is under rated. Only one who has come close is Daniel Craig. Maybe Daniel should of did a one off as the movies seem to get worse and worse. I high recommend this movie as John Barry the musically composer was top of his game here as well. Which I feel the music lacks in the new movies. Miss David Arnold from the last gen of movies. Bond will be back!

I'm a big fan of the latest batch of Bond steel books at Best Buy! The covers all feature screen captures from the legendary Bond Titles sequences, it's a shame the entire series is not covered. This disc is the same one featured in the 007 50th anniversary collection. It does include a digital copy for those that are interested ( I believe that is a first for the Bond films).

Under appreciated gem of a 007 movie

This excellent film is often unfairly maligned, mostly by people who've never actually seen it. If you're a fan of the Daniel Craig era Bond, then definitely check this one out as it's a precursor of sorts to both the Craig and Timothy Dalton interpretations of 007 which give audiences a darker and more humane version of the Bond character.

As someone whose seen every bond film multiple times, I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best. Most people think of Sean Connery and Daniel Craig (and rightfully so) but George Lazenby is one of the great Bonds, even though he was only in one film.

This is the lone Bond movie in the canon sporting an actor who played the role only once. I remember being impressed with it way back when on my lone viewing (although Telly Savalas didn't make the best villain) and it having one of the better love interests for JB (Diana Rigg) and a poignant turn. The price (for bluray) was excellent and the movie has aged well.
