This album should have been titled, "Amazing"

For the first time in such a very long time I find myself completely enraptured with an album. One eskimO delivers what so few artists seem to be capable of doing - giving an original sound, and an ENTIRE album full of wonderful, meaningful songs (as opposed to the usual random good song, and then lots of filler ear pollution.) Each song has its own unique flavor, making it difficult to name a favorite song from the album. But if I absolutely had to pick a favorite song, it would be "Amazing." However, listen for yourself and you will see just how difficult a task this really is. All I can say is enjoy!!!

    Soulful & Catchy!

One eskimO self titled One eskimO The music on this cd is breathy, laid back, simple, and sultry, all in one. The song Hometime, when I play it, freaks out one of my cats! She starts crying, then jumps around. The song Kandi, is my favorite. The first time I heard it, I thought it was a good song. Then I watched the season finale of the tv show Bones, and I fell in love with it! At the end of the show, it showed Bones & Sealy saying goodbye for a year. They looked into the others eyes, and you can hear the song in the background. You think that they will finally kiss, but they do not. I hit the dvr several times just to listen to the song, then realized I had heard it before. It was in my stereo waiting to e reviewed! And yes, I did receive the cd at no cost to review. So when you listen to the cd, play it a few times, and give it a chance! The band has been on the Ellen show, the song Hometime was in a Toyota commercial, and the song Kandi, is a #1 radio hit song! So I’m sure they will be around for a long time, and I look forward to hearing much more from them!

Upbeat & Catchy - Beautiful Sound

I had never heard of One eskimO before receiving a copy of the CD from One2One Network to review. I have to say that I fell in love with this CD and it is now one of my favorites. First of all, I love that they use a variety of instruments in their music. The use of these instruments makes each song beautifully unique and they have a sound that is different than anything I have heard recently. They also have mesmerizing vocals. Their songs each have a slightly different sound to them but all are very upbeat and catchy, begging you to play them again and again. I find myself singing and moving to them when listening and they remain in my head long after the CD has ended. I especially like the pop-rock sexy sound of "Kandi", which is my favorite. This cut has also been receiving a lot of airtime and attention in the media. I also like the softer sounds of "Hometime" and "Astronauts", as well as the groovy pop tracks "Givin Up" and "Chocolate". I definitely believe you should give this CD a try. You won't be disappointed.

    Creative, inspiring and unique

I happened across this on accident via the One2One network. I must admit that One eskimO is not exactly what I would call your typical adult contemporary or easy listening album. Upon first hearing it was pleasantly surprised, being that generally I am not really a fan of this style of music. There is a cozy ambient feel to the entire album, leaving you somewhat dreamy as you listen. The acoustic guitar gives it a laid back folk feel and at times adds a somewhat fun element. Some of the songs seem to go on, leaving you hanging with no peak, even with all of the elements included in each song it somehow seems somewhat lacking in points. Strangely enough you are still left wanting more. Comparative in some ways to Dave Matthews, Tracy Chapman, and at times Dan Folgelberg, One eskimO offers something new and different to please your ears in a time when music is starting to all sound the same.

    One2One Network Review

I received the cd from One2One Network .The debut album from One eskimO boasts pockets of quality from the opener 'Hometime' to the closer 'Amazing'. Probably one of the first band's to include not only one Eskimo, but a monkey, a giraffe and a guitar playing penguin. confused? Well me too. The songs possess simple, yet beautiful lyrics akin to William Fitzsimmons and the album production has the quality of a Tom McRae long player, yet the final product does not have any of the depressive overtones associated with both troubadours. One of the problems with the album is that it may either be described as a laid back offering suitable for the likes of a lazy afternoon on the beach or, as coffee table music which can pass you by before you know it. The first single to be lifted from the long player 'Hometime' is a laid back affair which has dreamy backing vocals and some mellow horn playing. One slightly confusing point is to why this was chosen as the debut single and not 'Kandi'. The third track on the album opens with a hypnotic acoustic guitar line along with some subtle percussion and an inoffensive call and answer vocal lines which immediately drag you into the song. I have to say that my only negative point to the album is that towards the end of the long player you sometimes get angry from thinking that some scallywag has switched your new laidback One eskimO album for a cheesy James Blunt placemat, particularly on track 'Chosen One'.

    Pleasantly Surprised

Having never heard of One eskimO before, I wasn't sure what to expect. It generally takes a while for new music to grow on me. But, I have to say I was hooked after only one listen through of this CD. The music is very relaxing and calming. It almost reminds me of James Blunt. So, if you are a fan of him, you will definitely enjoy One eskimO. My favorite song is "All Balloons". I look forward to hearing more of their stuff on the radio. I only gave the CD 4 stars because I like upbeat music when I drive. Driving is when I most often listen to my music. As I said, this CD had more of a relaxing effect for me. (One 2 One Network provided me with a CD to review, but my thoughts and opinions are my own and uncompensated.)

    My new fave CD

Last week, this little gem showed up in my mailbox and I didn't know what to expect. I'd never heard of One eskimO before and was expecting something harder rock than the calming, ambient pop that came from the radio as I played the CD for the first time. Thanks to my crazy busy life, it took 3 or 4 attempts to make it through the whole CD and each time it grew on me a little more. Simple Day is my favorite track, love it! It's nice music to just have on in the background as I go through my day as a SAHM. LOVE THAT! Now I just have to talk my husband into concert tickets. ;) (One 2 One Network provided me with a CD to review, but I am thoughts and opinions are my own and uncompensated.)

I had never heard of One eskimO before but i was given a copy of the CD from One2One Network to review. Its not a bad CD although i wouldn't say that I'm totally in love with them. The music is very mellow which I like and its great to listen to in the car when you're in the mood to listen to some relaxing music. But the only problem i have is that the whole CD is mellow. The are no real upbeat songs in my opinion. The hit song Kandi is nice and I think that i like that one the best. This group reminds me of Snow Patrol for some reason and I love Snow Patrol. For their first CD i don't think its bad and i would recommend it to anyone who likes mellow tunes.

    Ambient Music with Catchy Songs

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This cd is great music to put on and have on in the background in the house. There are a few catchier tunes, which I find myself singing all day and night (especially Kandi which has been the most played song on all adult rock radio for four weeks). Other stand out songs are Astronauts, a very low key, gorgeous song and Simple Day which reminds me of a very muted Jason Mraz. The album as a whole flows together well, each song has it's proper place in the album and none feel like they don't belong. The last track Amazing, completes the album well and causes me to want to listen to the entire thing again and again.

Although I was unfamiliar with this group before receiving a CD to review from the One2One Network, I am now a big fan of this group! I find the music to be both soothing yet catchy. The music is so crisp and every song is filled with great beats. I love to listen to this album from start to finish and often listen to it while I am cleaning my house or running errands around town. I look forward to hearing more music from this group in the near future. I have recommended this album to many of my friends and family members and I will continue to do so.

I had never heard of one eskimO before I received their cd in the mail to review. I'm glad I did because it is a really good cd. Once I played it I couldn't stop. I found myself bopping along to the music. It's very hard to pin down their sound into one genre. They are a little light rock, alt rock, pop and a little soul. It works for them though. My favorite tracks are astronauts, kandi and chocolate but their really isn't a bad song on this cd. I definitely suggest you give this one a try! I'm glad I did!

    Chill Music

I have been pleasantly surprised by this CD. It is upbeat but chill, good for pretty much any time. It reminds me of a cross between Dave Matthews Band, James Blunt, and Maroon 5. The lead vocals are beautiful and there is some quirky background music that keeps it fun. This is the kind of CD you can listen to over and over again and I would definitely recommend it. (One2One Network provided me with a copy of this CD to listen to and review. I didn't receive any compensation to share my honest opinions.)

I never heard of One eskimO before but based on the band name alone, I figured I was in for something new and different. I was pleasantly surprised by this band and felt like the CD is something I would recommend. It has an easy listening style vibe and definitely offers something different from other bands I listen to. Chosen One and Amuzing were my faves but other tracks on the CD were very good, too. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something mild, pleasant, and soothing.

When a band has a name like One eskimO, you know you are in for something different. Their self-titled album is very interesting, catchy and sexy at the same time. I enjoyed a majority of the album, in particular Chosen One was my favorite. Other tracks that are worth a listen are: Astronauts, Kandi, Slip, Simple Day, Chocolate, UFO and Amuzing. Give them a try if you'd like to hear something new. Thanks to the lovelies at One2One Network for the chance to listen to this album.

    Great CD

I received a preview copy of One eskimO and after hearing the song Kandi being played on the radio, I was very excited for the opportunity. I have to say that even though I am familiar with and like Kandi, it turns out that it's not one of my favorites from this album. For one thing, I keep thinking it's two men singing. Besides that, there are echos of other songs and voices in this album which makes it very likable. Sometimes some parts of songs remind me of Genesis (in a good way, not outdated), some like John Mayer (without the crazy attitude and personality), some like other popular bands. Although I'm comparing parts of songs to others, the whole effect is unique and catchy. They are a great band and the CD remains in my car CD player (one of 6, so that's a coveted spot considering the 100s I have).

I had never really heard of One eskimO until I had the opportunity to review this album. Since I was going into this with no prior knowledge of the band or their music, I really didn't know what to expect. After listening to the entire album, I was pleasantly surprised - One eskimO has found a new fan in me. Although "Kandi" is probably the best-known song on the album, it was "Chosen One" that really hooked me. They have a beautiful sound that reminds me of Snow Patrol and James Blunt. One eskimO's sound is soothing, distinct, and almost sultry at times. I love it. Overall, this is a great CD - I definitely recommend it! I personally found eskimO's debut, self-titled album to be quite a dreamscape CD overall. The sound is mellow, with a little blues, and a little pop. "hometown", and my personal favorite, "Chocolate" are especially intriguing. "All Balloons" is playful and very catchy. "Kandi", which has already garnered much radio-plau and commercial success, sums up the entire feel of the album, and I feel that this band has only just begun.

Hi! I obtained this CD and really enjoyed listening to it. You can listen to this CD in the car or at home when you want to relax and chill. There were several songs I enjoyed on the album. Two songs really stuck out in my mind which were "Astronauts" and "UFO". I like to honor mention the song "Amazing" as well. If you like different kinds of music or like listening to new bands this CD is for you. :)

I had never heard of this band before receiving the CD to review from One2One Network. With the first song, I knew this sound is perfect for the summer while you relax at the pool or on the beach. The sound is chilled out, ambient, with relatable lyrics. I took one star off for lyrics b/c they are a little too repetitive on certain tracks. I'm look forward to future releases from this band.

I hadn't heard of this group until I was given a CD of theirs via One2One network to review, and I must say that I enjoyed listening to the cd! One eskimO is definitely a group on the rise! Their mellow tones and lyrics soothed me on my drives to and from work each night that i listend to them. Kandi's a favorite of many who have heard it on the radio, though my favorites are Simple Day, Chocolate, and Hometime. Hometime's intro was definitely a surprise.
