I was very excited to upgrade to this model as my last Onkyo was a workhorse for the last ten years. Only reason I wanted to upgrade to was to add Bluetooth and network connection as well as the updated format compatibility. I think my perception of the quality is being limited by my currently lame speakers. I don’t like having to turn it up to 50 just to hear anything. That’s a bug not a feature. I also don’t like the lag on Bluetooth. Otherwise, it does sound better than my old receiver I suppose. If it was not on sale, I would’ve returned it already.

Receiver worked as described and the sound quality was noticeably better than the 5 year old onkyo I was replacing. Older version of APP works great to control zone 2 on my deck. I can change sources, stream from phone and change volume. The new APP I couldn't get volume control to work on zone 2 but I am fine using older APP. I am very pleased with quality and at a great price for a 2 zone 7.1 receiver.

Purchased this receiver on sale over Black Friday this year and it's worked wonderfully connected to all of my gaming systems and satellite tv. Lots of options and easy to setup and configure.

I caught this as an open box without the remote at a local Best Buy store. Read the reviews from various places, and have so far enjoyed the upgrade. This replaces a 10+ year old Denon 6.1 and gives me the discrete 7.1 upgrade I wanted, and especially gives the HDMi update I needed. Sounds good, a little more definition than the older Denon for movies.. I prefer the Denon for music though, I must admit.

I already had an Onkyo surround sound system, but needed to upgrade the receiver to be able to handle 4K pass-thru. Did my research and, wanting to keep everything the same, settled on this Onkyo receiver to replace my old one. Couldn't be happier. Setup is a breeze, on-screen menus are helpful, and the sound quality is fantastic. Well worth the money, especially when you can find it on sale.

My old surround system receiver bit the dust and wanted to upgrade to newer tech. This fit the bill and sounds great in my bonus room with my in-wall speakers.

I replaced a 12 year old Pioneer Elite with this Onkyo. The sound is excellent and setup was easy. The phone ap also set up very easily and is a nice feature.

Great Receiver for the money. It is HDMI ready. Easy to use and sounds great.

I have hooked this with Harmon Kardon speakers and TV and it works great. I really like the sound quality and already watched a few movies with great effect

Fairly easy to install. Needed bendable HDMI adapters do to the depth of the unit with my entertainment center. You must update firmware before setting up.

I bought this receiver after reading numerous reviews. All the reviews were right about its power. I bought this to replace a 8 year old model that was still working and in good condition. I like the 4k features, I had a problem with the volume at first until i found the intellivolume in the settings and then everything was fine. I love this receiver and catching it for 349, really made me happy.

Receiver delivered as expected with better sound than replaced Denon unit. The issue for only a 3 star rating was the set up mic arrived damaged and could not use to auto calibrate my speakers, contacted Best Buy and Onkyo and no one would agree to ship a replacement set up mic. To my surprise Best Buy instructed me to return the receiver and get a replacement which made no sense to me and Onkyo wanted me to take the damaged set up mic to a service agent for repair/replacement. All I asked for was to be shipped a replacement set up mic.

Very powerful and I love that you can do an equalizer on each channel and set the crossover on each channel.

Easy to set up: Speaker, Microphone Calibration and Setting thru HDMI also the APP on the mobile made this Receiver very easy to handle. Sound amazing

Great receiver...actually the second one that I've bought. Very powerful and offers lots of options for inputs and streaming services. Can't go wrong.

Bought this to upgrade to HDMI connections. It also supports 4k UHD, ARC, CEC, and other features. Have been pleasantly impressed by this unit so far

This receiver is actually 210 watts not 170 watts!! It is an awesome deal. I bought my Pioneer receiver at Best Buy and this receiver is a lot better

Great receiver for the price. Wasn’t looking for one with too many features I wouldn’t ever use, but this was a good price and has great features.

For the price I got this at it's an amazing product. The Bluetooth from my phone works fantastic. I can run it at max volume and I don't get any noticeable distortion. I have Klipsch RF-3 ii speakers and this provides enough juice to them but these are hungry speakers and I probably should have went with the 757 or 838. But this will do for quite some time before I upgrade.

New reciever setup was super simple. It easily integrates with all other components and no issues thus far. Bought another for Christmas gift.
