This is my second Onkyo 7.2 receiver. Last one worked great until I sold it to upgrade to this one. Love the receiver.

Best Sounding Receiver for music lover or to watch TV and Movies in 7.1 surround sound or 5.1 with outside speakers.

This is a nice receiver it was very easy to setup. The sound quality is great. We have watched some blue ray movies not just is the sound great but it looked great on the big screen. I gave it 4 star due to the app. It worked great then the app had an update and it just stoped working. This receiver has a multi room set up. The app really helps when you are in a different room.

Finally upgraded my old Sony receiver. This is ladt year's model and i was able to get it for $250. On the same speakers, I noticed how much more crisp the sound is with this Onkyo. Installation and set up was a cinch. I love having a receiver with bluetooth. Now I just need to buy some outdoor speakers and set up zone 2.

Loving this receiver. Upgraded from my 5.1 yamaha to this couldn't be happier. Lots of hdmi connections and ones that talk to the things plugged into them. My XboxOneX and Tv and Cable all turn on and off when the receiver tells them to,so easy. Also sound quality is very good. Easy setup and control.

The receiver was easy to set up and operate. all the features are almost complete like bluetooth, wireless etc.

Pretty good sound for an AVR (I am coming from seperates/downsizing) Actually drove my 4 ohm LSi 25's with no problem, I ran them loud a few times(not stupid loud, just loud) just to test and didn't notice any distortion. Pretty easy to setup if you are at all familiar with AVR's ARC works with my Samsung 6300 series TV, The only thing I don't like is the speaker connectors are just below the HDMI ports

This onkyo has all the power that I need for my 5.1 setup in the basement. Decent deal for Black Friday week.

If you are looking for a good reciver, good power you will like this onkio. You can't beat the sale price

There are a total of 13 of us living in our house. 9 kids under 14, my hisband and I, and my inlaws. I would say that my Husband, 6 of my kids and I can use this without trouble. My inlaws could if they would take the time to learn...but why should they with so many grandkids ready to help at a moments notice? The hardest thing to learn is switching modes on the remote...but with a bit of practice we will have have this down as second nature.

Unit has been well received by reviewers. Now that I have it I can see why. Learning something everyday.

When I decided to replace my old A/V receiver, I went with the brand I was replacing: Onkyo. The TX-NR656 is a solid system centerpiece, providing the necessary power and the latest audio formats, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS: X for a more compelling experience. There's also support for 3D, Ultra HD components and legacy audio formats like DVD-Audio and SACD. Well worth getting if you need something new or replacing an older model. (Oh, and the 170 watts per channel rating is for when you use 6-ohm speakers; for typical 8-ohm speakers, you get 100 watts per channel, which is more than adequate.)

Set up was a snap even for a non-tech. person. Great sound & easy operation. I've only used it for a few weeks so reliability is unknown but so far there have been no problems. I particularly liked the provided mic and sound balance set up. It made getting the right balance for the room easy on the first try.

Love this home theater receiver. It replaced a 3 year old Sony and being a network receiver it has many great features like cell phone control. One thing is it seems like you have to set the volume louder than on other receivers to get the same sound but once you get used to it it's not an issue.

I needed to up date my receiver, I talked with sales associate and decided on this brand since it could handle what I needed. When the Tech came to install I was warned that this brand runs hotter then most and the mother boards will burn out, some have done it in mere hours after he left. I have had it installed now in a cabinet for over a month with fan on it, and so far so good with it.

Definitely download the app. I upgraded for the Bluetooth capabilities. Set up was relatively easy.

Met all of my expectations. Easy to set up, and included mic set all of the settings automatically.

I have not hooked this up yet but for the price you cannot beat all of the features this unit offers. Can't wait to hear it!

Great receiver. We upgraded our family room TV and this was a great choice in this price point.
