This unit is everything I expected and I am very satisfied with its performance.

I was looking to upgrade my system (receiver and speakers). I purchased this receiver first. What a HUGE difference in the sound quality even before I upgraded my speakers! It has every function I could want, and may be the last receiver I will ever need to purchase.

I wanted to buy a receiver and set up home theater for long time. I bought this receiver on BF deal and for 250$, I got 5.1.2 system which sounds great with Klipsch reference speaker sets and ceiling speaker for Atmos. Haven't used Zone 2 feature yet.

Picked up this receiver to tie everything together in my parent's living room and allow them to really use the good speakers they have for more than just music. Works well and is simple enough for them to use (although they're really just using the basics).

This is a great home theatre or audio unit. I liked it so much I have 2 now.

My original intent was to buy the 646 but found it was discontinued and not in stock. The Best Buy sales man sold us the 656 for $100.00 of their price to make it more affordable. That placed $100.00 less than Amazon's price. I am very impressed with build quality as well as the features and sound quality.

Replaced a Yamaha that started dying following a power loss.(5 years old) Excellent features and superior sound. Easy set up and no complaints. Best Buy price and service excellent, if looking for a mid level A/V receiver you will not be disappointed.

This unit is great. I set it up myself with my Boise surround sound system.

I had 10 year old receiver and speakers. Thought I needed to upgrade both to get better sound. Got this receiver and was blown away by the quality upgrade to my old speakers. Everything sounds cleaner especially voices out of the center channel. 5 stars.

I researched the product before I purchased it. Performance is pretty spot on from the reviews I read. Ease of connections was a huge decision maker for me. The only problem I see is the sound has to be turned up a little more than on my previous receiver. But all in all it is still a very good unit.

I like full HD output and able to create 2 zone sound output.

Exactly what I was looking for. Good sound and features. I like that it is Dolby Atmos capable and the fact that internet radio is built in. Purchased a competing product initially that lacked this and returned it. Only complaint is that the firmware update for Google cast is not available yet.

I purchased this as a replacement for an older Onkyo receiver. It is full of up to date features and is an awesome price. The firmware update was welcome,as well, because it adds googlecast as well as apple airplay. All in all, I couldn't be happier.

Fun to play with, even around your mother. Easier to hook up than Tinder.

you can hook up sounds for two location, Love the surround sound. it comes with mike to adjust your speakers in the room. it even has a place for my amazon stick and so many more functions. This is my second one one on Third flood one in basement.

I had intended on purchasing another Yamaha system to replace my current one. Nothing wrong with my current one; it was only a year old and I plan on selling it. The newer Yamaha featured a little more power output and network/wifi for streaming and it was the deal of the day for $379. Low and behold when I went to Best Buy I spotted the Onkyo system for not only the same price but it featured even more wattage plus it had double the amount of hdmi inputs at 8 and even featured 2 hdmi outs so I chose it over the Yamaha. So far this system has really impressed me and another pleasant surprise it works flawlessly with my Harmony Ultimate Home remote. The Yamaha didn't always land on the right input selection when programming activities using the remote but the Onkyo has had no issues. The only reason I did not give this an excellent rating or 5 Star was because one of the 8 hdmi inputs was put on the front of the receiver. I think it would have been better to put a usb port up front instead.
