Don't spend more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is like the old receivers - adjustable if you want - not some preprogrammed nonsense that you can't change. Excellent sound and picture ( assuming you run video thru it) and GREAT sound - and MUCH more affordable and easier to deal with than my last " great" AV receiver ( MARANTZ 7001 -boo hoo ! )

A feature-rich AV receiver at a cool price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The receiver was setup with 5.1 speaker system and I was amazed at the sound of the system. I likes the bluetooth connection of the receiver, because it allows me to play my mp3 from my phone and the receiver responds seamlessly at decent sound quality. I think it is worth more than its $250 price tag.

Good Reciever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve always had Yahama but both within the last few years broke. The last the HDMI out port stopped working. Thought I would give another brand a shot. This Onkyo has a way easier interface on the tv and setup was a breeze. Sound is good and the automated features (standby waiting) work very well.

Great sound!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I picked out this Receiver mainly because it was on sale, and had many of the features we were looking for. Once we got it hooked up we were amazed by how much better the sound was, compared to our old Receiver. And both our phones paired with it via Bluetooth in a snap!

Outstanding A/V receiver for the money.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 15 year old Denon started failing to switch from one setting to another. I purchased this receiver based on reviews and the excellent sale price. So far, very pleased. The remote is easy to use and the phone app is awesome. Bottom line: Easy to set up, good on screen menu, sounds incredible through my Klipsch speakers.

Great Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an avid audio enthusiast working in the industry for 20 years. I purchased this receiver on a deal to run Polk in wall speakers and a sub for a theater set up in a media room as well as work as a pre amp for a second audio zone. The Good: -Great sound and ample power for the price. Has to be the best value out there right now -Network music is a nice add on -4K video switching is smooth and upconverting is pretty good. -The app is intuitive. Far better than the Denon I had previously -Dual HDMI Outputs!! Pretty rare at this price. Cons: -Running the second zone is a bit clunky using the remote it came with though it is pretty easy with the app or the front panel. I'm trying to figure out how to make it work easily on my Harmony.Hub. (Not a deal breaker). Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend this receiver if you are looking for a solid mid-tier receiver with great video switching capabilities.

Excellent receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately my Onkyo's 636 hdmi board finally ate it. Thought long and hard about going Onkyo again. Read reviews, and looking for something that would fit my current speakers configuration, which now included ceiling speakers, this was still the best bang for the buck. They did a great job cleaning the gui interface and the remote. The speakers are definitely better driven now with ATMOS doing its thing. Both music and movies are clear and loud without sounding obnoxious. Setup was easy, although had some issue with setting up the 4k up convert. Probably my tv, but a bit of an annoying setback with little documentation to troubleshoot. The one bad thing is the lack of literature for settings.

Set up is easy, connectivity is great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did some searching on this receiver prior to selecting it as a replacement for the Harmon Larson I had for years, as I wanted hdmi connectivity for a new tv, appletv, Blu-ray etc. . All of the reviews were very positive. Set up was pretty straightforward. I only have 5.1 surround, and with speaker test process that part of the process was simple. The auto set up feature was good for making sure the speakers were connected correctly, but I was not pleased with the auto balance feature with the included mic. I was able to change the settings more to my liking with the sub menus. The really great feature is the airplay mode, which I am able to use anywhere in the House with the network connection. The fm reception is pretty good, although, I listen more to Spotify, and other on line stations, again a great pairing for airplay. Overall a nice update for my home theater.

good sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.upgraded from my denon 5.1 i needed a 7.1 pair with my klipsch spks.theres a big difference the onyko brings to my speakers. more life, more bang. must tweak system to taste.a big plus is the way i can bring the center channel up for better voice clarity and sound. the take away is that the system always defualts back to tv mode when you first power up the system .it come on in cabl/sat mode then switch back to tv mode.but but once i go back to witch ever mode i want it stays there i think tv is the default mode when i power up the system still working on that.other than that the system it self delivers very good sound i like it its a good system ,i had it month wanted to give it some time before i put in my 2 cents if it were not for the mode switching i would had given it a 5 as stated it only does that when i power on the system dont know if anyone run into this or not. another feature is the wi- fi. hook up ,easy. comes with online music streaming easy hook up no problem. its a good system glad i brought it.

Great receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver is a replacement for another Onkyo receiver that stopped working. I really like this one as 8 HDMI connections. The Bluetooth was very easy to connect to and I can stream music from my iPhone. With the 7.2 hook up I was able to connect to all 7 of my speakers. I was impressed with the clarity. It was very easy to set up and easy to use.

Excellent unit, especially for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This av receiver is all around excellent. Much better user interface than my last receiver, and it has plenty of power. Upgraded from a 5.1 receiver so I could Bi-amp my front floor standing speakers, and it has exceeded my expectations.

Sweet sound.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver has a sweet power level. It performs the way you would expect a higher end amplifier should. The volume control adjusts the output power level with the volume. And, it has a sweet sound at lower volume levels as well.

Great receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We first purchased the Sony 7.2 receiver. Had it for all of 3 days and took it back, it was NOT up to par with our expectations and what the man in the home theater dept. had said. Several things we didn't care for but the #1 was, you couldn't adjust ANY of the sounds, NOT A SINGLE ONE, it is what it is. So we returned and purchased the Onkyo 7.2 receiver. You can CHANGE EVERYTHING, the features are better especially for adjusting sounds. The quality is better, It has preset sounds, like most everything these days but you can make your own presets for each individual things such as game consoles, DVD players, regular TV, I-pod (which is blue-tooth capable), AM / FM Radio etc. It has Dolby surround sound features - GREAT for movies! Even has an auto function where you take the mic and put it in the center and it does your speaker configuration for you!!! You can make adjustments to that as well! We love everything about this receiver. We have and will recommend this one to ANY & EVERYONE! You get what you pay for more often then not, this one was only 100 more then the Sony we purchased to begin with and for that 100 bucks - IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!! We paid $ 600.00 plus tax and warranty for the Onkyo 7.2.

Nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. I haven't had a chance to test any 4k content, but I find the multichannel sound to be better than previous thx pioneer products I've used over the years. Definitely worth it at this price.

Great Value & Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Almost thought of docking a star for the limited Chromecast usability. That aside, switching is flawless - great picture and sound in all channels. Easy to set up and tech support is outstanding.

Great mid level stereo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver is great. It has minimal buttons on the remote. It is easy to set up and sounds great. It is a great stereo for the price. I found this as an open box item at a discount. So it was a lot cheaper than new. Even though it is last years model, it has everything I need. I even bought a 4 year warranty for $50 since I was able to get this at a cheaper price. Only complaint is that if you want it to get loud you have to turn it up to 60 and above. This is my first ONKYO receiver and will probably not need one for a while.
