This replaced my old Denon AVR-590. The receiver is great. Really easy to setup. I like that it supports both DTS:X and Atmos. I paired these receiver with the signature line of Polk speakers.

Replaced an old sony reciever. Although I don't need all the bells and whistles it has they are absolutely nice to have. I had no problem setting it up WiFi, Bluetooth all work as described.

I got the item because I had a center channel speaker that I got free, I hooked it up and it sounded great but I ended up buying a used receiver for a hundred bucks and returning the onkyo, I honestly cannot tell the difference.

Connected to klipsch tower speakersi(biamp). Excellent clarity via radio, tv, cd,etc Receiver sounds bit muffled via bluetooth and direct wifi connection. Do not like that the HDMI connection is in the back of receiver.

Full sound, great controls. Not my first Onkyo product but definitely the best. Great service at Best Buy with knowledgeable sales people. Couple with new Klipsch speakers I am a happy human!

Looked at several different surround sound receivers at this power and price point and this was the only on that had a phono plug. With that being said the sound level from the turntable isn't what I hoped it would be.

Since the Sony DN1060 Receiver I had didn't pass thru HDR, I upgraded to the Onkyo NR656. It can pass thru 4K HDR without any issues! Easy setup, up scales to 4K, and great Bass management!

It's been just a week now but no complaints or issues.

Good receiver but lacks atmos for a good theater setup

I had a Sony Theater in a box. I replaced it with this Onkyo receiver and WOW what a difference in sound quality. The voices come through very clear and the surround sound is impressive.

Bought this as an upgrade from my previous receive we’ve had for years. This not only looks better but the sound is so much clearer and louder. Definitely worth the upgrade!

I liked the overall specification of this receiver.

Setup wasn't difficult. Sound is very good for under$500 and I feel like I got a lot for my money. The Onkyo remote has improved a lot from the past iterations. Plenty of everything for an apartment dweller like me

A VERY SOLID AV RECEIVER, EASY OF USE, NICE DESIGN AND TOUCH, I HOPE THE QUALITY WOULD LAST THE PRODUCT AT LEAST FOR FIVE YEARS.

Bought an open box online and was very pleased with the Onkyo receiver. Easy set-up and Bluetooth works great. Had hdmi issues with former Onkyo receiver, but all works great here.
