have to turn volume up high to hear anything, always have to change surround setting for what I am watching, it works for what it is.

I purchased the amp from the store, it was on sale and it was just what I was looking for. Easy to use and set up and has been working just fine.

This is, by far, the best part of my sound system. It delivers EVERYTHING I want out of it and more. If you are serious about sound quality, purchase this.

The Onkyo 656 is an amazing receiver. Great sound with a big punch of bass. Hook up a 5.1.2 setup and use the Dolby Surround or DTS: Neural X settings.

Great receiver with lots of very nice features. One note that made it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the 2nd HDMI out only works for Stereo HDMI sources and is not a true Zone 2 output.

If you need 4K HDR and Atmos this is the way to go. It has so many hdmi in’s that it will meet all of your needs. Bluetooth chrome cast

Excellent box. If you need component inputs you will need to buy external converter boxes. But if you have a pure hdmi set up, this is a great box. Also has wifi which is cool.

Works fine, decent sound. Plenty of inputs and outputs. Set-up about what you would expect if you are familiar with AVR's

This surround sound receiver has everything for the home. Internet, power, zone 2 and especially bluetooth for the streaming music from a phone.

Has many ways to hook up your different devices. Good sound and the system comes with a microphone to balance your speakers which takes out a lot of the guesswork in setup.

Replaced my 19 yr old Onkyo receiver (still working) with this model. Great features for the price. To date no problems. Hope this receiver lasts as long of my previous one.

Set up was a breeze and knowing I can stream 4k movies is perfect. It's got plenty of connections so it's future proof for a while.

I have this set up with my Bose system and two speakers outside for the back porch. This is the third Onkyo I have purchased and never let down.

I got this Onkyo unit to replace an older non-HDMI, 5.1 channel (not Onkyo) receiver. I have my new receiver set up for 5.1 channel operation and I am not currently using the last 2 channels. Amplifier performance is excellent and improved my system considerably, something I did not expect. Also, it has a good selection of connectivity options. My favorites are internet radio and my ability to connect to a wireless network disk drive. The unit was pretty easy to set-up using its microphone which pretty much automated the process.

Receiver is Average, not that great. Worst customer support from onkyo. You have to wait for hours to talk to customer service and they will always have a reason to skip your question. I have samsung 8 series which comes with connect box. I connected ARC from connect box to receiver and it doesn’t work. When I called onkyo support, after hours of wait they said it is not compatible. Why the heck they can’t make it compatible? Not completely satisfied. BBY have to refund my money. Can’t return back as I tested this feature only after 15 days. BBY read this review and be helpful to customer.

Has all the new standards such as Atmos and powered zone 2. Has plenty of power to manage your home theater system. Does well with music too

Very happy with the receiver. It was very easy to set up. The salesperson was very helpful in determining which receiver was best for our needs.

My old Onkyo receiver was past its prime. I decided to stick with the same brand since I planned to use my old speakers. Worked perfectly

I'm really loving this receiver! It has great sound. I love vinyl records and they sound much better with this than the one I had before. Movies sound great also!

I love almost everything about this unit. Its pretty powerful. It has several apps built in. I cant seem to get spotify to work, but other than that, its a beast.
