I have a long history with home theater. This receiver exceeded my expectations with the sound it produced. The separation of sound from the speakers were clearly recognizable. My room is large with high ceilings. I'm thinking the calibration feature is part of what made the difference. The only negative is that it does not upconvert analog 480 video to 1080. I found this in the manual while attempting to figure it out during hook up.

Clean, clear precise sound. Excellent value. Wish it were 7.2.2 capable though. Still a great buy.

I am very please with this system. Setup is very easy, probably the hardest thing is keeping all my wires straight. Great value for the dollar also. The sound quality is terrific, and I really like the WiFi & Bluetooth capabilities.

I went out looking for a new receiver being that the one i had was a Sony kit from 2000 that had started cutting out on loud sounds. I went looking hoping for something I could hook up my record player too. This receiver seemed to be the only one out of all the models on display that actually had a grounded amped phono in. Plethora of hdmi in, super configurable with how to name and route the inputs, lots of different config for the sound fields, came with a tuning mic, and using the app is pretty awesome. Although the app is kind of janky at times it works pretty sweet, i can control the input, volume, stream over bluetooth to it. Like I said a little more than I wanted to spend but I'm thinking this will last me just as long as that sony kit that I bought broken off of ebay for 100$, took it apart and attached one wire and fixed it.

I have been an Onkyo owner for the last 15yrs. This is without a doubt one of their best products, the sound is incredible, it's easy to use. It's very easy to set up and with minimal hdmi wires. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I bought the onkyo because it was a great price, and had Atmos and DTS-x, but than you need to also update your blue ray player to a true 4K to operate it. the only reason I purchased it was because my Sony started to make unacceptable noise, which I purchased last year along with a warranty. when I took it best buy for repair they had it for a month??? what am I suppose to do!!!! screwed up my home system, than they could not find anything wrong with it. Folks don't waste your money on a warranty, technology change so fast that you might as well replace your equipment every year or two anyway. To this day Sony does not offer Atmos or DTS-x, nor can you hook up a turntable to it because it does not have a pre-amp, which you have to buy. what a joke. if you read the reviews sony is tops don't waste your money buy a onyko.

I've been using this for a few weeks now and its been what I expected. It supports Dolby ATMOS, DTS X, and all the HD sound versions. Only 3 of the HDMIs support the HDCP 2.2 but you can choose which ones use it and it will be awhile before anyone has enough devices to need more than 2, let alone 3. You cant go wrong with this receiver at this price.....

I installed the receiver about 3 weeks ago to replace a Denon AVR1130C. Set up was straight forward. It's the hub for a Samsung 65" SUHD curved TV, 7.2 Infinity surround speakers, Niles outdoor speakers, a Sony B/R DVD, Sony CD changer, Amazon TV Fire Stick and HD cable box with a Harmony One RC. So far, so good. Source transitions are crisp. Sound quality is good. SUHD picture is great. Very a good value.

I’ve never owned Onkyo before and I was really leaning towards Pioneer but....Onkyo owns Pioneer now. This is summed up with one word....Stunning! I am running the audio through a set of Andrew Jones speakers and the sound is amazing. I may never leave my home theater. Now I need to buy a TV that can do the Onkyo Justice! “Sound Harmony”....Onkyo....

Replacing an existing ONKYO Receiver, I was limited on budget. Being a firm believer in you get what you pay for, I expected a scant replacement for my existing receiver. Setup was a little more difficult than I expected, only because I was trying to tie it into my existing system. The result exceeded my expectations! Huge boom for the bucks.

I bought this for my surround sound setup for my PS4 Pro Andy Xbox One S. I needed a receiver that wouldn’t lose the 4K or HDR and this one is perfect. It’s an awesome receiver, it has lots of great features and serves it’s purpose. The surround sound speakers actually sound better as well compared to my last receiver which surprised me.

This receiver does everything I need and sounds great. The automatic setup works well and it has all the hdmi, component and even upscaling composite video ports that I would ever need. This is a good buy for sure.

Purchased as Open-Box thru Best Buy''s Ebay store to replace my aging Onkyo TX-SR804. Product was shipped quickly, arriving two days after placing order, and it was in like-new condition, although they left the batteries in the remote - not a good idea. Receiver worked fine out of the box, lots of network and HDMI options to play with. SOUNDS GREAT!, plays all the latest audio formats and paired nicely with my new Philips 4K player. Lacks legacy analog audio outputs, I'm hoping to make the Zone 2 line outs work, for my ongoing project of digitizing my collection of vinyl LP's, cassette and reel tapes. Still figuring out some of the settings, the CEC functions fight with my Harmony remote, will need to program extra buttons to compensate. Meanwhile, have to keep 4 remotes handy for getting out of trouble. Overall does a great job for what I needed. Very pleased with my purchase.

This Onkyo receiver has been a blessing over the more expensive Pioneer I just replaced. I have yet to explore all the features it has to offer, but the sound is amazing using Polk speakers, and the video upscaling is perfect. Much clearer picture then the Pioneer that claimed to do the same. Highly recommend this receiver.

The receiver is great! Paired with some Sony speakers and Sony 4k t v everything sounds and looks great! Occasionally the audio will not be in sync with the screen which is why it didnt get 5 stars. I adjusted lip sync setting and everythhing, some online forums blamed it on the time it takes to process the encoding. This is an issue I didnt have with my 2 year old Denon.

So far, I am very pleased with this Onkyo Receiver. I had a 9 year old Onkyo receiver that was not 4K compatible, and I just purchased a new 4K TV. This new receiver sounds much better then my old receiver, and is extremely easy to use. Set up also was very easy. I highly recommend this receiver.
