Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not going to lie using this does require a learning curve but once you get the hang of it this is a heck of an investment. I’m posting 2 Klipsch loud speakers and a center channel and wow does this deliver ! Def worth a grab when it’s on sale

TX-NR656
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a few Onkyo receivers over the years. This is very comparable to most of them. I love the 7.1 Audio, the power per channel. However it does lack some of the features that I am used too on the older models. Lack of adjusting the individual speaker output is a big one for me.

Lots of features for a decent price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it on sale for Black Friday. I previously had a 5.1 Sony receiver, but heard Onkyo was a premier brand too. For the price and features it has (7.1, Dobly surround, 4K), it was an upgrade from what I had but I haven't been blown away like I expected to be. It's a decent 7.1 receiver for $250. Maybe I got what I payed for. Maybe I got a really good deal. I don't know. But, I'm content with my purchase. It's on screen menu is pretty cool too. My only negative is that I have to turn it up to increase the volume. I'm regularly at 60-70 for normal volume levels. That seems silly to me.

Love this receiver!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing lots of research I found that this receiver was just what I was looking for. All I really wanted was a receiver that would handle HDMI, 3D, as well as having a built in amplifier so I could hook up my record player to it. This does so much more by having 4K passthrough (don't need it now but it is nice to have for when I purchase my next TV.) It is very easy to navigate and set up with the microphone that measures the sound levels in the room from where you will be viewing it from and adjusts them according to what it finds. I love this receiver!

Good, but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking to upgrade after having our last receiver for 9 yrs. In addition, after having recently purchased a 4k tv, we were told that we would get better quality picture with a 4k receiver. The installation was easy since our last receiver was an Onkyo, it was almost plug and play and has 4 more HDMI ports wherr we can add more devices too. However, the picture isn't any better and only found out afterwards that since our last model had pass through capability, the picture didn't change. Also, our last model had the capability of changing the settings manually for each speaker, which I like better than the calibration since the rear speakers end up being too quiet and I bought it for surround sound. So overall, it is a good receiver, but not a great one.

Great 4K receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a receiver that didn't have 4k passthrough to simplify my home theater setup. The sound seems louder and better with 100 ohms per channel. My older receiver only did about 80 ohms. Pretty good budget receiver.

Great Audio and multiple Video Connections
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed it in my Home Theater to replace my my older AV equipment. Surprised by how much better the surround sound is. The extra HDMI connections allowed all of my boxes to be installed without having to switch cables.

Upgraded sound and affordable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new 4k receiver since I upgraded recently to a 65 inch Sony X930d. I had an Onkyo 7.1 theater system which I enjoyed so I looked into Onkyo again for a receiver. I read the reviews, features and price and decided on this one. And I'm very happy I did. Easy set up, pass through is great, 4k upscaling and plenty of HDMI inputs. I kept my same speakers but the sound is much better with this receiver. Next upgrade will be a 4k DVD player so I'm excited to get the full potential out of the receiver then.

Great receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded my old Onkyo receiver because the old one didn't have a phono input. Super happy with the results. The Bluetooth syncs with my Amazon dot to stream music and the wifi syncs easily with Apple AirPlay. Running the HDMIs from all of my components fixed the audio sync problems I had with the old receiver where the sound and picture timing was slightly off. Setup was super easy. It comes with a microphone that you put at the seating area and automatically sets the levels for all speakers.

Great theater receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an Onkyo stereo receiver years ago, and lived it. When I wanted to switch to a home theater system, I let myself get talked into a very hard to use Yamaha unit. When it was time to replace it, I was very happy to find this Onkyo theater receiver. Excellent quality, easy to set up and use. It looks great, too! I was lucky enough to get this unit on sale, so it was an excellent buy, as well. It creates a beautiful theater sound, is easy to adjust and expand later. I highly recommend it.

Solid receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to this receiver after getting a 4k/UHD TV and discovering my UHD player wouldn't pass through 4k video. Thus far it has been a solid performer. Easy setup, reliable - 2 HDMI out for a possible eventual projector setup. My one wishlist item that basically no receivers have at the moment: a bluetooth transmitter to connect bluetooth headphones to it. Yes you can buy adapters. Yes, it has a bluetooth receiver to send audio from your phone to it. Oh yeah, I also wish I had waited for the darn sale seeing the price on it today as I write the review!

Upgrade from 2010 to 2016 model
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 1999 Sony receiver before and upgrade to 2010 Sony receiver. Now I bought this which has more feature. I am amazed with the sound I hear. Paired with PolkT30, T50, and PSW108 sub, it's a nice setup. The surround sound, OMG. Build in WiFi and bluetooth is great option to stream music from phone or online radio. I downloaded the remote app from App store so I don't need a remote right now. Going to setup 7.1 in the garage and see how that works and can't wait.

Great Multi-functional Receiver!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the greatest receiver that I have ever had. It has all the functions and the speakers (top-line Klipsche home theatre system) do sound a lot better than BestBuy's magnolia's receivers.

Great Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a receiver without spending a lot of money this is the one. First for starters the amps make the sound powerful and clear. Next this receiver is a 4K receiver which means if you have a 4K tv with the arc function the receiver has 4K up scaling from 480 up. The picture is unbelievable. The con is that the hdmi ports are close to the speaker wires. I just bought banana plugs to solve that problem. Otherwise I would highly recommend this receiver.
