Best Buy installed it and never tested it and when I went to use it a few weeks later it didn't work.

The Onkyo 6 disc CD player was packaged well, easy to plug and play, and worked just right. The remote worked and actually came with batteries! I thought it was good value.

Unit worked fine for the first few weeks then yesterday afternoon I went to play it and could not get it to power up. Have yet to try to figure out what the problem is yet.

The product was ideal for my situation, however, after setting it up and turning it on I found the sound to be very distorted. I exchanged it for a new one, results were the same. I did not try a third time.

It stopped working after 1 year. Would no longer read the CD’s. During that 1 year it was off and on. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. Really Best Buy?!?!?

I have to manually turn the try (accessed through a slot at the bottom of the unit) before each use. Plan to send off for repair, otherwise works well.

My Yamaha cd player recently died. I was looking to replace it with another Yamaha for twice the price that I paid for the Oynko. The Oynko was on sale and in stock ; so I took a chance on it and could not be more satisfied. I was very pleasnatly suprised by its quality of form and function. From the remote to the main unit , I like it better than the Yamaha. I make this statement being a Yamaha fan.

For those music lovers among us who still appreciate the superior sound and durability of the compact disc, the ONKYO DX-C390 6-Disc Changer (CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, and wireless media streaming) is an excellent choice in a component deck! I purchased this model recently from a local Best Buy Store, and I have nothing but praise for it. Most CD players offer wide pitch ranges, and this Onkyo is no exception. However, how well a player reproduces those pitches, most of which are among the middle of the hearing range, is more important. With a potential dynamic range (soft to loud) of 100 dB, a signal-to-noise ratio of 107 dB, and nearly zero harmonic distortion, the DX-C390 produces nothing but the music! The large, sturdy construction; the presence of both digital and traditional analog outputs; the ease and flexibility of convenience features; the quick, stable, whisper-quiet carousel mechanics; the music's isolation (and insulation) from those mechanics; the Onkyo reputation for reliability; and especially the detailed, high-end sound offered at a modest price range -- all of these features make this CD player a perfect choice for music lovers on a budget!

In an age where dedicated quality CD players are like unicorns, this is a truly great product. I have had & prefer carosel style players for over 30 years - the best I have owned was a Sony ES CA80ES 5 disc which recently started having some mechanical issues (why many shy away in favor of single disc platforms) and was replaced with the Onkyo. While the specs for the DX-C390 are not as robust as the Sony, these are only part of the sonic story (just like with amplifiers). I run this with a Pioneer Elite receiver (pre amp) and Parasound 2250 & 5250 amps (7.1 system) through Paradigm Monitor V6 speakers with great results.
As a recovering engineer and musician, I have a very particular kind of sound I want from my system - and this unit delivers. Well built, quiet operation, aesthetically pleasing. I use it as a transport via toslink in my main listening area using the Pioneer DACs, but for secondary zones the internal DACs sound fine. Not as ergonomically friendly on the front panel as the Sony (Onkyo requires the remote for programmed play) but this is a minor quibble.
If you're looking for a dedicated multi disc CD changer, you would do well to check this unit out.
