It is very easy for CDs to shift position causing the draw to lock close with the display "mech error" No where in the instruction book does it explain how to fix this. It took about an hour to solve this issue.

I bought an opened box. There is a disc stuck in the changer.The Geek quad doesn't handle it,they said to send it to the manufacturer.
This was supposedly checked by the Geek Squad before re-selling it and given a clean bill of health.
Obviously, someone lied.

Went to Best Buy for the Sony 5 disc player, but they were sold out. Got talked into the "Onkyo" 6 disc player for the same price. Got it home and hooked it up to the Sony receiver without any problems. But as soon as I loaded it with some CDs, it would not recognize anything in certain locations, wouldn't play or even load CD information, i.e. track numbers or CD total time. Tried "random" selection and it played two songs before it froze up. Now I know why I never heard of "Onkyo". Returning the unit in exchange for the Sony model I originally wanted.

Had problems from day one with the CD player. Would not read disc 1 and would often not read any disc #. Turning it on and off sometimes solved the problem, sometimes not. Since I didn't use it every day, the "15 day return period" expired and now I have to ship it back to Onkyo at my expense. Apparently there have been many complaints about this unit, so do your research before buying one.
And the best buy return policy is pretty much worthless.

What a piece of junk. First off the area where discs are placed is too shallow, discs come out very easily. The second repair was for the "Motherboard" replacement. After telling me that there was nothing wrong. If you get error 99 the unit is toast. Now I am returning for 3rd time error 99, I can only imagine what could be next. This is all within the first 8 months.

Worst CD player I've ever owned. It stopped playing after fewer than 100 plays. I've had it repaired twice ( for $200) and once again after playing for one month, it's broken again and does not play at all.

It arrived ok but it never worked from day one. The return procedure was good but it took a long time to ship and a long time to refund me my cost. big disappointment.

I had to return. Skipped , made a lot of noise. I bought this as new , not refurbished - I double checked since it didn’t function. I had the exact same Onkyo model that worked for 4 years before it started skipping.

The player started acting up as soon as it was plugged in. Sometimes it would read the CD’s, sometimes not. Such a disappointment for such a pricey unit. I returned it and hope the second try will work.

There is no volume control on the unit or the remote--but that didn't matter because there was no sound. I bought speakers, separately, and then found the audio cable only one foot in length. Impossible! Bought a 6 ft. cable and it still doesn't work. I've had this one week and when I returned to the website to look for speakers, found the CD player is now $20 less than when I bought it. Best Buy needs to have a policy of notifying buyers, and offering a refund.

When we opened the box, the audio cord was missing. We were able to supply one. But the CD player would not read any of our CDs. The message it displayed was that there were no CDs in it, even though we had six in it. We returned it.

Doesn't work. Out of the box doesn't work. If you buy it, pay the extra protection of Geek Squad. Since finding a CD changer is tough, I bought it and hope they get it to work.

Bought an open box unit, that did not work from the get go! Apparently never tested after return. The sales associate took it back without a problem, but seemed uninterested in noting it's condition.

Purchased this unit 3/21/2019 online. Was okay at first but the Random stop working then the unit stopped working. Called MFG told me to take it back to Best Buy. They tried to charge 85
to send to MFG when under MFG warranty.
