Easy setup, audio setup is a breeze. It's just an all around great piece of equipment that completes our family room experiences. We're running a Sony 900 85 inch 4K HDR TV and Definitive Technology BP-8060ST fronts, 5.2 surround setup. The Onkyo TX-NR797 deliver's the goods. No complaints and no cons at this point. It supports, the everything we have.

    Love the Onkyo Digital Receiver

We had an analog ONKYO and it was wonderful. But when we upgraded to a smart tv the old analog just couldn't link up. So... we stepped to the next level with a new digital one. It is just as good as the analog. The only negative we see is the occasional delay as the sound switches from TV to Receiver.

This Receiver is a beast and has everything you could want in a dedicated AVR system. With every conceivable up to date Wifi/Bluetooth controls, just about every Video listening format available, and future proof with all 6 HDMI ports @ HDCP 2.2. The system is easy to setup, but you must take the time to set it up correctly and go through all the menu selections and use the SET-UP MIC in at least 5 locations to give it a proper amount of information to set your speakers more precise. Even then if you want to go in and fine tune it with a built-in manual equalizer for each set of speakers, you can do this. There is plenty of power for most home entertainment rooms, because you can have a 7.2.2 setup which will sound just like a movie theater, but in your home! In a nutshell, my old Onkyo Receiver has a very rich awesome sound, but this new one takes me to the Movie Theater level with Dolby Atmos & DTS:X sound shaking my roof! Onkyo Receivers have always been High Quality Beasts and this one is by far the best bang for your buck on the market.

This is a good receiver with enough power to power my large living room. The sound is clear and well defined. This unit supports 4K vision as well as all the other platforms available today 2/6/2021. This unit also supports Atmos and IMAX. Not sure what imax is for, have not found anything with imax yet. There is so much more then I can describe in this short review. For full description go on line and take a look at the manual. One note is the best viewing platform is the newest Apple 4K tv. It upscales everything to 4K Vision and the receiver passes everything along to the tv without down grading it.

This receiver is amazing. Built a new theater room in our house with this receiver a the centerpiece. We have been nothing short of amazed by the sound quality and clarity produced by this receiver and the Klipsch speakers we've pair it with.

My last receiver was an Onkyo. I replaced it with this one. The Dolby atmos brings the action to your home theater. While watching Fury, it felt like I was in the tank battle with shells flying overhead and detonating behind me. Very impressive.

I purchased this receiver as a replacement to a unit that was older and beginning to fail. I did my research and came to the decision that the 9.2 was the best fit for my AV area. It has not failed, I unpacked the unit and began installation. Connections were very quick and the audio set up through the included microphone was a breeze. It senses the environment and guides you through options. I have had Onkyo units before and they have all proven themselves well.

This receiver is easy to set, produces excellent sound quality and push plenty of wattage to the 9.2 Klipsch speaker setup including 2 2” subs that I have. Excellent 4K picture quality for the LG OLED as well. You can’t go wrong with this receiver!
