Very big upgrade over the 6100. The inclusion of Dirac live calibration really brought my speakers to life, and gave them much more clarity for dialog in movies The price hurt but it was worth it.

Ok… Honestly, this thing pretty much rocks in every way but for the HDCP 2.0 error with Amazon’s Fire Stick. Content protection run amuck. Bought this to replace a Yamaha that had only one HDMI input, and it went out after only ~5 years. But yeah—it needs to accommodate the Fire Stick—so still displeased, as that’s how the bulk of the media is consumed with this thing in our home.

Move next to an authorized service center

Receiver stopped passing through video at around 8 months. Customer support was courteous, but their solution after much time on the phone (both on hold and with support) is for me to call one of their authorized service centers. They gave me the number of the closest one - two states away. So I'll have to ship the heavy item at my cost. And apparently, I'll have to redescribe the problems I'm having with the service company as well - you would think Onkyo and the Service provider would talk to each other without me having to be the middle man. I have owned many Onkyo's, but looks like I'm in the market for a new brand. 1 star for breaking within a year and having to put more of my own money into it (shipping) to get it fixed. If Samsung can send a tech to my house to work on a 42 inch tv, then Onkyo can send someone here for this beast that cost 3 times as much - or at least provide the shipping. I'd suggest making sure you have an authorized service center close to you prior to buying.

    DONT BUY ME!

This product is TRASH!!!! Do not buy. Would never recommend. Also if you think youre gonna get the protection plan to make sure its okay, IT IS going to break, they WILL take a month to tell you they CAN'T fix it, YOU DO NOT GET YOUR PROTECTION PLAN MONEY BACK AND IT CANNOT BE TRANSFERED, they WILL NOT work any deals to make it right. All the protection plan does is give them $100 so that they will give you your money back like they should anyway. But you dont even get your money, just a best buy gift card. So basically they'll sell you a piece of junk, make a hundred bucks off you, and then your forced to buy another peice of junk from them. Go to Crutchfield where they sell good products and great customer service.

This unit performed flawlessly then after 3 weeks started to turn itself on for no reason. It would turn off but wanted to turn on when no one was even around it. Send it back.

The receiver worked fine for about 3 weeks, then it kept going in and out as if it's switching inputs!!! Sound went out when I tried to watch a movie, seems like this receiver is severely overpriced for the quality you get!!!
