Ooma was to some extent decent. It provided subpar audio quality for VoIP despite it's advertised claims to the contrary. It is missing many of the functionalities compared to other VoIP providers with real cloud-based integration for home/office use.
One month ago, it ceased to operate despite performing many hard factory resets. We plan not to buy a replacement. I had a hard time convincing my wife that our cellphones are sufficient.

I just got this for my dad. I have had an Ooma box for 4 years, it works great! Used it when I got rid of my cable package - transferred my home phone to it, went off without a hitch, have not looked back. Transfer to Ooma service was seamless, and service has been reliable. Recommend you pay the $90/year for the Caller ID Name package, also includes junk caller block and other handy features. BestBuy often sells the Ooma box on sale too!

Pretty good, wish it was wireless. You have to buy an additional adapter to make it work in a location where you do not a have wired network connection.

Bought this unit to replace my Cox phone service as a backup home phone. Works okay but we have been disconnected during longer calls which can be a bit frustrating. At $4.00 a month cant complain.

Call quality is mediocre. You need to pay $$$ to port your number. Unless you pay extra a month, the basic services are uber vanilla.
However, the bill is $6/month. Considering now that Verizon and Comcast give you phone for free when you bundle, not sure there is an advantage--however if you are cutting the cord, this option may work for you.

I am a planner therefore I purchased this product in advance with an outside antenna and a ROKU and possibly SLING TV to get out of Charter cable. I have not yet used the product

very bad reception and call quality. bought 2 handsets from Ooma,
quality of speaker phone was terrible; tech finally decided to replace them. they were a little better but not good enough for me to keep them. i ditched them completely in November (the whole Ooma system)

Product overall works good, but beware if u don’t have Ethernet connectable internet router this one will not work. Be aware of what u have and what u can connect it to. This must be hard wired it is connected via Ethernet cord from router to Ooma box and then to cordless phone. App is great and allows you to receive home phone calls anywhere as long as u have service.

I don’t recommend this product simply because of the customer service center. I initially wanted to get rid of the voicemail feature and not have voicemail and I kept getting told there was no way I could remove the feature but indeed it was. The customer service representatives do not know their own product. This product was recommended to me by several people who indeed had that feature removed. After about 10 plus calls to ooma I got fed up and I returned the product and went with my own internet service provider.

I don’t recommend this because they keep taking money from my bank account. I called them regarding this and told me I signed up for overseas communication. I don’t know anyone outside of the country, so why would l want that service. They finally refunded part of the payments today!

its like throwing $90 into the garbage. it does not work with comcast firewall. you can make calls, you cannot receive calls. there is no service tech help from ooma, unless you consider tech support a woman you can barely understand telling you to cycle power on everything in your house. oh they do have 24/7 chat available...so you can chat about your problem. that's nice. save your money.
