    We've had our Ooma for years now and it still performs exactly how we would expect. It has saved us a ton of money off our phone bill over that time. One perk is that if a call isn't able to go through to our phone (phone gets disconnected, power or internet is out, etc.), people can still leave us a message. It basically gives us some of the functionality of a cellphone.

    We've the the basic Ooma service for 11 years, and have no complaints. It just works. Our original box finally quit this week, after a short period of random malfunctions. Best Buy sent a replacement box the next day - quick, free shipping and a good price for the box. After an easy call to Ooma to transfer our existing account to the new box, everything works fine.

    We bought this to replace a landline with a spam blocking answering machine. We got tired of listening to the phone ring, then our announcement, then the disconnect for every spam call. We still get the calls, but only see the evidence in the app. Sound quality is good, and the ability to pick up the call on my phone is very convenient.

    The Ooma system is easy to set up and easy to use. Plus all you pay are taxes every month and a $1 911 fee that totals less than $10 per month! And with the Ooma app you can use your home phone on your cell phone! I love it!

    I bought this after I had to buy an Arris modem (highly recommend doing this) to replace the garbage Mediacom modem that I had. The Arris T25 modem's VOIP capabilities works with ONLY Comcast, and we wanted to maintain a landline. Setup was super easy. Took all of maybe 5-10min. The web interface is very easy to use and navigate. For $40 you can port your existing landline number over to this, so you don't have to update everyone/everything with your new phone number. The process claimed to take up to 30 days, but we had ours switched over and working within 48-72hrs. You'll need to read the Quick Start guide on how to setup the voicemail message. That was the only part that I couldn't figure out without following the setup through the web interface. The only thing that I've had to relearn is dialing 1+areacode+number when making a call. Other than that, this is a great phone service option, and it's basically free. You have to pay taxes, but that comes out to about $6/mon for me. Much cheaper than paying the cable company.

    * This is a great Voice over internet phone. * If your cable or power are down you can set the phone to ring your cell phone. * If you want totally free you will only pay local and state taxes for your area 911 etc. * When you prepay for a year of premium you have so many options. With the prepaid year you can port your old number.for free if not there is a charge of 30.00. * Took 2 days to port from Verizon home phone. Do not disconnect from your old carrier until porting is complete. If you do not want to port your number there are plenty of new numbers to pick from. * With premium you can pick a new number as well as keep your old number. * Can block all those unwanted calls. * Can set ring times and length of ring. * Built in answering machine. Only drawback the volume is very low for listening straight from the machine. Otherwise check by dialing your number. * Notifications on cell phone when you have a new voice mail. * This decision is a no holds barred. Wish I had did this years ago. * You can use one line as a fax if you want. * Great product and fast friendly customer support via chat that answered all my concerns and questions. **** Cut the high cost it totally worth the money spent. Pays for itself in a few months.***** * May use your existing phones.

    I bought Ooma to hook up into my Mom’s assisted living apartment. Her place provides cable and internet, but not phone service. This is very easy to hook up, works very well, and I love the fact that you can control it all online or with an app. I check her messages for her, and the price each month is so minimal - it’s great! I would use it myself if I didn’t need to have a landline in my home. Highly recommend this!

    Easy setup, works as intended. Ported our old number to the Ooma service without issue. Dashboard is a little basic and cumbersome, but for the price you pay, you can figure it out, and it's been worth it so far.

    Setting up the Telo was very easy and took about 10 minuets without a single issue. I connected this to an Eero main hub and used the temporary number for two weeks before porting to ensure I was happy with the service. Needless to say, I was VERY happy with the service which performed equal with my AT&T digital phone. The porting process took about 1 week and I did not experience any service disruptions. I also took them up on free porting with an annual subscription to the premier service which I purchased mainly for the caller ID with name. I simply unplugged the phone line from the back of my U-Verse modem and into the Telo which fired up every phone jack in my house. Now my phone bill is $6.15 instead of $51.

    I installed my Ooma Telo a couple of days ago and I’m pleased with it following a few days of hiccups getting it to function properly. Ooma’s customer service is very helpful and patient, and takes pride in resolving any issues. In my case they troubleshot my issues and were able to adjust the problem preference settings remotely. The phone is functioning properly now and the calls are clearer than the VoIP line I had with AT&T. With the premier plan I estimate my savings will be close to $38 per month. I’m still waiting for my phone number to port over but I don’t anticipate any more issues. A tip that I’ll share has to do with the rewind button. If you hit it too many times, it turns off the Ooma power light… so it looks like your device is not receiving power. You can still make/receive calls but because there was no light I thought my device was malfunctioning. To turn the light back on just hit the rewind button. Tapping the rewind button can adjust light brightness all the way down to off. This didn’t seem to be listed anywhere in the materials received with the unit or online.

    I read some of the bad reviews and have experienced bad VoIP installations with friends and relatives, so I didn't have a lot of hope for this. Followed the installation instructions...took about 30 minutes. So far it's been flawless, and much cheaper than the landline it replaced. Very happy with this purchase. Note: I have this hooked up to Verizon FIOS service.

    The Overall Rating more accurately would be 4 1/2 stars. The most significant negative attribute is the receive level is loud! I installed 2 resistors in series with Tip & Ring (the 2 line wires) and a series resistor on the receivers of the 2 phones I use most often. That got the level to be acceptable. For the money, it's a great deal. If I were to get the same features on my local telco's line the cost would probably be close to $40 a month. I chose the Premier plan for a year, normally $9.95 a month, (+$4.19 in my area a month for taxes and other fees) but through a promotion got it for $99.95 for the year - and that includes porting your phone number which it normally $39.95 (I believe), well worth it. An unadvertised feature that I like, although I have my own hold circuit is pressing flash and going on hook will put the call on hold. Going off hook several seconds there will be a dial tone with a beep to indicate the call on hold. Press flash again to return to the call. After being on hook for a certain duration the line will ring in a unique pattern a reminder a call is on hold - just go off hook to connect. I waited to write this review until my number was ported. I used it for month and a half as a second line to test. My number ported today, I was told it typically takes 3-4 weeks. Mine ported in 8 days! The only snag was calling out from the Ooma system was still from the temporary number. I called support, they resolved that quickly, now the outgoing calls show from my original number that I've had for 30 years. I didn't see that required step in any of the emails. Chat technical support is relatively useless, it seems only to be able answer common/basic knowledge questions that's already documented clearly. Sometimes I wondered if it was some kind of automated response system. Phone support is very good - I had an issue that was almost a show stopper. I could not access my Verizon cellphone voicemail remotely. I could however, access several other voicemail systems and other VRU with DTMF menus. Someone from one of Ooma's voip carriers called me, I explained the trouble and they did resolve it. Time will tell I suppose - overall I think it was a great buy, I got the Telo (the main system shown) on sale. Even at the full price over time the cost would be less than the local telco's line with many more features and long distance calling. One significant feature for me, available with the Premier service is the text message when a new voicemail message is recorded. Another plus - the Telo is available at the local Best Buy. Many other home VoIP systems are mail order only.

    I owned an OOMA Telo for over 10 years but it finally quit working so I purchased a new one from Best Buy. The unit itself is compact and unobtrusive. It works very well and was easy to install. My gripes were in the registration and transferring of my old number. When registering OOMA requires you to choose a new phone number, which they say, is just temporary until you can successfully transfer your old phone number to the New OOMA. I followed OOMA's instruction to transfer my old number; however, I kept getting error messages that my old number was already an OOMA number. After back and forth emails a couple times the service rep told me I would need to call a certain number in order to transfer my old number to my new OOMA unit. The first two service reps I dealt with were very polite, but had no clue how to transfer an existing OOMA number to a new OOMA unit. When I called, that service rep was very knowledgeable and transferred my old number in about 5 min. So, if you buy a new OOMA and want to keep your old OOMA number, DO NOT REGISTER IT! Call TELO customer support at 888-711-6662 and ask them to transfer your old OOMA number to your new OOMA unit.

    We've had an Ooma for about 10 years. It stopped working and I didn't hesitate to replace it. For a few dollars a month, I have a reliable home phone. It is simple to use, just like a land-line except it works with your internet service. Set-up was super simple and fast. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ooma.

    As an emergency home phone for my 6 year old who is allergic to everything, Ooma Telo is Perfect. It is very easy to set up - 15 min or less, the calls are crystal clear and you just can't beat the monthly cost! Check it out.

    About a year ago, I bought an Obi telephone device but found it too complicated to set up. I bought the Ooma so that I could save money by dropping my cable companies phone service. I expected to save about $20 a month. I bought the Ooma, set it up in 5 minutes, and activated the service. I then sent out an E-Mail to friends giving my new phone number. I then contacted the cable company and asked to drop their phone service. Instead of dropping it, they gave me a $40 monthly discount for 12 months to keep it as part of my cable/internet/vice combination plan. As the Ooma only is costing me $4.23 a month, I will keep both services going until next year. The Ooma device was extremely easy to set up and the voice quality is superb. It has a lot of features. The best features are the call blocking of up to 256 phone numbers and a community blacklist so when other people block telemarketers or scam calls, you will automatically have the calls blocked also. The Ooma exceeded my expectations.

    Cell phone service at my house is horrible so I bought this Ooma Telo. I've been using it for a good month now and it's been flawless. I never had a dropped call. Calls are nice and clear with no delays or crackles. It was pretty easy to set up. At first when trying to set it up online, it kept showing I wasn't connected. Then I played the message on the Telo and I was connected shortly after.I'm using the $20 Vtech phone that I purchased separate. The range is very good as well. I have the Telo placed in the living room which is at the back of the house. I was able to still talk with crystal clear quality all the way outside to the driveway. 1800sq ft home. All you pay is the taxes and for me it's $5.50/mo.

    At first I was skeptical of this product. However, some friends have had it now for about 3 months with no problems so I decided to trim costs and get this device. It works very well for a VOIP phone. I have not had problems with the device. Any sound issues are related to our internet and not the device. The device itself is very reliable. We were even able to have our old phone number ported over for a one time fee. Now we have two landline numbers and yes, we do have local 911 service.
