Challenging Team Game with a few quirks

First let me say that if this game was bug free I would probably give it a 5. So the reason why I gave it a 3 even though the specific ratings I gave it a 4.5 is because there is no sub star list for "Bugs/interface issues". The gameplay is exactly what we were looking for in co-op team play game. I was a huge fan of the original game, So I am probably a little bias. This game is not a run and gun, so if thats your thing this is deffinately not the one for you. Gameplay: The game play is very squad oriented and you really need everyone to do they're part to be successful. I am playing it with a small squad of friends on Hard core mode. This means there is no hud at all and you have to use the map to orient yourself (which is the way we like it). The A.I. works really well, suppression fire actually suppresses, and there is no 400 meter golden bullets from A.I. that I have seen thus far. Although you cannot customize your loadout, you can modify it by stopping by an ammo crate or "borrowing" a dead guys weapon. The game play is designed to make you take your time and approach each objective with a clear tactical plan. If you just try to run and gun, you are not going to make it. Which is what makes this game so much more fun (for us) than others. We like the tactical aspect of the game quite alot. Controls: The controls are pretty standard as far as other games are concerned. I believe a patch is needed though as several functions often do not work such as switching from the 203 grenade launcher back to your rifle round. Also the squad commands do not work sometimes. There is also several issues with mulitplayer mode. The most annoying of which is that if you do not click ready within 30 seconds to restart a mission it boots you all the way back out to the multiplayer screen, ending your current server automatically. Extremely annoying when trying squeeze in a potty break. In short the games has its quirks but because of the game play I really enjoy it and can put up with the other stuff until a patch is released.

I don't have time for a full length review, but just know that this game is riddled with a huuuuuge amount of bugs and that the MP part of the game barely works. Also there is absolutely no authenticity check or cd-keys for this game! This means that people who have gotten it off the net can play it for free with the few of us who actually payed for the game! This is a huge ripoff even for a bargain price.. Don't waste your money on it.. Especially not when so many other people play it for free. Just look at the CM flashpoint 2 forum if you don't believe what I'm saying. Pick a better game.
