You turn the dial to choose how light or dark you want it and the toaster counts down how long it will take, 1, 2, 3, or 4 minutes. You can cancel the time if you need to and you can press the frozen button, if your bread or pastry is frozen.

One time, toast got stuck by getting out of place in bottom bracket. Toaster seems somewhat light weight and maybe lesser construction materials. not really uniform toasting. When will they make a really good toaster that is easy to use and can toast evenly. Slots only accommodate normal size toast not even any loaf bread slightly longer than normal. Frustrating.

I got this toaster for all my everyday needs and only get out the oven as needed. It wipes up easily and has more settings then I've been able to use yet.
