I have found through talking to professionals and friends that the Otterbox is the most recommended cell phone case in terms of durability, but a lot of people dislike the bulk (the case is comprised of an inner silicone layer and a hard plastic outer case). The Commuter series, which I have, is less bulky than the rugged Defender, but even so, adds what feels like twice the thickness to my Samsung Galaxy S5. Combined with the shatterproof glass screen protector I bought separately, it has done a good job of protecting my phone, at its own cost. This case is my second, as the first one suffered a crack through the corner at the top by the earbud port, and the thin piece of hard plastic below the home button completely broke off (I have dropped/accidentally flung my phone from time to time on concrete or carpet). From other reviews I've read, the thin piece that broke is a common weakpoint on these cases, and other than that and the fact that these cases are made in China, I think the Otterbox Commuter case is a solid case in terms of phone protection.

Excellent case. Light weight and protects my phone

I know Otter is quality by word of mouth from family and friends. Have not had anything happen to my phone so I haven't had an opportunity to test the product. I am not using the screen film. Best Buy price matching is the best. I go to the internet to check products and prices and buy at Best Buy with price matching.

We got this case for my boyfriend and he can't be happier with the case. Our dog got a hold of his phone and cracked the screen and we couldn't get it replaced (the glue was down on there good and wouldn't pull the glass off) so we got this case with a great screen protector and it hasn't bothered him since!

Great case, nice protection at a reasonable price. Only flaw is that rubber piece foamy stay in place at all times.

Can't tell you the number of times I've fumbled my phone and dropped it. Never the slightest problem - this case protects really well, without being super-bulky. Ports are accessible, power/volume buttons work fine. I won't buy anything else for my Android phones!

I bought this case because the larger otter box is just too large. I have found that the protection provided by the commuter otter box is more than sufficient for what I need. I have dropped my phone in this case numerous time and have seen absolutely no damage.

The product fits the phone very well. It protects the phone from any accidental drops. It's not extremely bulky but it does add weight to the phone.

This case is perfect for the S5. It is very protective and light weight.

I like keeping phone in pocket and needed a case that was low profile, would protect phone against drops, and could easily slip out of pocket without excessive drag. This case fit the bill..very good quality at reasonable price.

this is a phone case. it goes on your Galaxy S5. Fits perfectly, has interesting colors, protects the phone. It isn't gonna solve the problems in the middle east, or cure your hemorrhoids, but if you drop your phone, it will still work.

I definitely will always purchase an Otter Box for all my electronic devices. I bought my 1st for a Kindle and am so glad I did. I have a couple of toddlers in my home daily and feel more secure having this protection just in case!

I have used all kinds of cases over the years and have never had a bad experience with otter box. This case tends to be the model I buy the most because it's protective enough for my uses and isn't as boxy as the defender model.

Man. I love these things. They do exactly what they say they are made for. I can drop my phone and nothing happens to it. I have used nothing but this brand for years and have never been disappointed. Well made product.

I have never been disappointed with quality of OtterBox. It protects the phone by completely encasing the device. The rubber construction cushions the phone against accidental drops. Definitely worth the price.

The Otterbox commuter series is a well made case that fits the Galaxy S5 well. It is slim and can easily fit into a pocket. The soft inner lining along with the outer shell protect the phone well. I have dropped the phone once and neither the case or phone was damaged. It ius everything you would expect from an otterbox case.

This item fits very snug to the phone and has been very durable thus far. Going on 6 months now with no issues or defects in the material. Definitely a good purchase to protect an expensive phone.

Overall a really good case. Originally didn't want to get one because of how big a bulky they make phones, but this one is a great compromise between protection and size. Highly recommend.
