In any case I have dropped my phone a few times, yes on the cement, with no damage to the unit. The last time a chip came off the otterbox in the corner. But hey, that's what the thing is for! Very easy to install.

The rubberized corner protection is invaluable in a drop situation. In have already managed to drop my phone on a hard floor many times and have not had my new phone damaged in any way. My speakers are not obstructed in any way, so I can hear everything beautifully. The plug n play ports are well protected.

The phone isn't locked in like the defender pro but it seems to be secure enough I wouldn't be worried of it flying out if dropped. The charging area has a cover which I find more annoying than necessary but it looks like it could easily be cut off if desired.

It has rubber caps for both the USB-C and headphone jack, which are both easy to open and close. The buttons on the side of the phone are not hindered by the case, and work perfectly without much effort. It's not making a fashion statement of any kind, but If your main concern is the safety of your phone, the Otterbox is the way to go.
