Bought my first smart IPhone and needed a very good and reliable case for protection. This case is very nice, fits well, and does its' job.

I have used Otter-box with all my previous iPhone's and this one is just a good as the rest. I have always been pleased with the sleek design and yet protective case that Otter-box designs with the commuter series. I highly recommend this product as it fits into a pocket very easier and does feel bulky like other cell phone cases.

The case is black and looks good, as good as others I’ve had on other phones.. It fits tightly so I had just a bit of effort to install the iPhone 8. The case is stiff but resilient. It extends maybe an eighth of an inch beyond the screen t protect that from drops, too.

Great protection for an iPhone. Rugged, attractive, easy to install. It’s reassuring to know my phone is in good hands.

This product is a nice addition to the 8, good fit, enhanced grip to prevent dropping and nice cushion feature.

This case has the right balance of protection and slim design. I’ve had this same case for the iPhone 5s for years, and now for the iPhone 8. I like it because it doesn’t add much size to the phone and it is smooth enough to slip into your pocket easily. I’ve never had a phone break with it.

Bottom Line: the OtterBox Commuter is a solid option for those prone to dropping their phone. Pros: good drop protection, protection for the Lightning port, comparable with Qi charging, not too bulky Cons: ingress of dirt between phone and case over time, no screen protector, removal takes a bit of work Review: My wife is hard on electronics, and the OtterBox Commuter has become our preferred case for her iPhones. This is actually the third time I’ve bought this case (once for her iPhone 7 and twice for her iPhone 8). Overall, the Commuter handles drops really well. My wife drops her phone at least once a day, and her phones have all come out unscathed with this case. The worst incident was when she dropped it into a 4 foot deep drain hole in our basement, where the phone sat submerged in water for 18 or so hours before I could get it out. Importantly, the Commuter has a flap that seals the Lightning Port (the most vulnerable area for water damage on the 7/8), and the inside was dry when I retrieved the phone. The Commuter is less bulky than some other cases on the market, and we’ve had no problem using a wireless charger with this case. I should note, though, that this case does not have a build in screen protector, so I purchase one separately. The one downside is that a fair amount or dirt does manage to sneak in the cutout for the Apple logo, which then gets lodged between the case and the back of the phone. Also, the rubber on my wife’s last case picked up a strange oder (unsure of what she spilled on it) that we couldn’t clean out. Finally, the reason we’ve gone through three cases is because my wife lets our 4 year old use the phone, and she likes to pick and rip at the rubber on the bottom. Even the best case can’t protect against that type of constant abuse!

This otter box commuter case has saved my phone from drops on numerous occasions. I put my phone in my pants pocket a lot and it’s easy to put into my pocket and take out of my pocket. Great protection for a slim design.

This is a nice feeling slim case that does not add a lot of bulk to the phone. The controls are easy to use with it in place. It would be nice if it included a screen protector.

Would not buy anything else. Otterbox saved my last phone many times.

We bought this case to replace my husband's case that was literally disintegrating. This case fit very well, although at first, it didn't work as well with the charger cord, but after putting it in a few times, it finally aligned perfectly and has been working well ever since. He loves it. It's a little heavier than the one he had previously but it's an OtterBox so protection is a given. It couldn't accept a holster and we couldn't find one with a holster so he opted to just put it in his pants pocket. He hasn't forgotten it even once. It looks sleek and the phone works perfectly with the case on. The Best Buy salesperson installed the case for us too! BONUS!

Not too big and bulky but the phone feels well protected

This 2-part case is a snug fit, with rubber wrap insert and hard plastic outer case. Feels safe and sturdy, and doesn't make the phone bulky. Well worth the price paid.

Reasonable sturdy, seems to provide good protection for the phone without being too bulky. Would be nice if it included something to protect the screen.

This is 2nd time I got the OtterBox Commuter and I do like it. It is not bulky so easy to hold. When phone was not in I tried dropping it and it always seemed to fall on back or side then back versus front. Though hope I never drop with phone it would be good if acts the same to preserve screen. Still need to get a tempered glass screen cover, but in meantime keep in felt cover when in bag and am careful. The soft rubber also allows for for comfortable good solid grip. Of course everyone has their own preference, but this works for me.

Good case, perfect fit, very protective. I would recommend this case to anyone who needs to protect their cell phone without too much bulk.

Fits phone very good and seems to be good protection from drops. Don't care for the back of the case, when you place your phone down with the face up the back of the case can slide very easy . Most other cases I have used have an anti slip coating or rubber type feet on the back or something to keep it from sliding.
