I use my iPhone for both personal and serious business purposes. The plastic retention clip broke after 3 yrs use. I returned to Best Buy and purchased another one. The store sales person gave me the phone # of the manufacturer. I contacted them and they mailed me another clip?! Great support!

Great for frequent drops, however, this case does get dirty quickly.

When you pay so much money for a smartphone, you NEED to invest in a good case. In my opinion, Otterbox is THE best case.

I got this as a gift for my uncle. He works outside on a farm and is constantly getting his hands dirty. I wanted something that would be tough and durable. I have owned defenders in the past and was very happy with the durability and rugged design of the cases, so I got one for my uncle. He really likes it.

I have used OtterBox Defender for my iPhone's for more 5 years. Typically, after a few months of use, they start to show wear, then completely stretch out and start to fall apart. I have had this case on my iPhone for a few months and it has yet to show wear or stretching. Seems they have made some great improvements.

I have found the Defender case for the Apple 6 is rugged and durable and able to stand-up to the occasional drop or fall from table or desk height. It would rate 5 stars except for the fine dust that gets between the clear plastic shield and the screen requiring you to remove the case from time to time to clean both sides, etc. I think this results from not fully closing the "doors" for the charging and ear phone ports and carrying in my rear pocket in various indoor and outdoor environments.

Whenever I can, I buy Otterbox™ phone protectors. They provide a very rugged case, a nice, clear, manipulable screen, and good access to all the ports (on my HTC One case, it even has an opening for the IR signal to get out, so I can remotely control my A/V equipment!) If you can, these are the cases to buy.

I have now had the Otterbox Defender case for nearly a year. It has held up well in daily use. While it does substantially increase the size of the Iphone, it is not so bulky that it prevents placement of the phone in a shirt pocket if needed. It has protected the phone well.

Otter box has always been my go to case, have tired many different cases and nothing protects the phone like a otterbox

Though she says she doesn't do it on purpose my wife seems to routinely throw/drop her phone. Needless to say that when looking for a case I searched for something military tested, something that a tank could run over without destroying it. In short, something that is crush proof, waterproof and wife proof. The Otterbox Defender fits the bill. Purchased for a reasonably good price, this case should hold up to all of the rigors of her daily usage. I would give it 5 stars but won't for three reasons. First, it is much to early to properly test it. She needs at least a month's worth of drops and throws to really see if it will hold up. Secondly, she is having problems feeling the iphone's vibration, or hearing the ring through the multiple layers of protection. Annoying but probably worth the protection. Finally, the first version of this case had a faulty screen protector. It did not lie flat against the screen and thus made touch sensitivity really poor. After reading others complaints about this issue we returned/exchanged it for another of the same model. The new one fits much better though is still not perfect. I will eventually just rip it out and buy a specialty screen protector for it but for now, it is functional enough. Ultimately if you need extra protection this is probably the best way to go just be aware you may be doing some extra maintenance on it eventually.

Otter Box make the best protective cases for all electronics. Whenever I get a new cell, I immediately buy a Otter Box.

Solidly built, stout, and resists lots of impacts. But it isn't water resistant at all, and it lets dust in a lot. When I leave it in my pocket when I'm working in my woodshop, it gets really dirty inside. I have to take it apart to clean it often. If it gets any water on it (like from running to my car in the rain while on the phone), water gets between the case and the screen and it's impossible to use the touchscreen. Not as good as a lifeproof case, but definitely cheaper

As far as drop resistance this is a great case does make the phone much bigger. But the heavy duty clip and cover adds extra protection and maximize portability. I do wish is was water resistant. But as long as your not dropping it in water it still protects from rain. Love this case I've had one on all my phones

Otterbox is makes the best tough cases on the market. Hands down. I've dropped my phone so many times and I never even bat an eye when I do. I know it's fully protected by this beast of a case. A must have for any iPhone user who wishes not to spend over $200 on a new screen.

If you drop your phone as often as I do you need a case that will keep protecting it. OtterBox' Defender has fulfilled this need since I had an iPhone 4. It's not waterproof but it protects my iPhone from everything else that happens. I always recommend this case first to my fri.ends when they purchase an iPhone

Great at keeping phone safe. Tougher to type with screen protector and also bulky. Keeping phone safe outweighs the bad

I am so tired of replacing glass screens on iPhones that I recently purchased an OtterBox for my wife's fifth iPhone. I should have invested the money in the OtterBox long ago. it is light weight but solid in my phones are no longer in danger of breaking. Now I intend to buy new OtterBoxes for my teenage daughters!

I like the screen that comes with the case, easier than applying it with adhesives. Very tight and protective cover!

This is the only case I will use. Never had any problems with it and have never broken an iPhone with this otter box.
