I have never had any damage to a phone from a drop of 3 to 5 feet. With this model I would recommend a screen protector as it does not have a screen protector built into it as previous cases that I have bought from Otterbox.

I purchased this one because I recently upgraded my phone to a larger size, but the previous one I purchased over 5 years ago, it is still worked great. It was not damaged, cracked, or overstretched at all, and protects my phone perfectly. This new case and belt clip seem to have the same level of protection, which makes me very happy. I did not give it an excellent rating though, because this newer version is a little harder to get your device in and out, so when my phone rings it takes me longer to answer it. But otherwise, I'm very happy.
