Otterbox makes industry leading cases for various devices and the Defender Case for the iPad Air 2 proves not the exception. I prefer Lifeproof cases, generally speaking, since they provide the added benefit of waterproof protection and a more streamlined design to Otterbox cases. As an aside, Otterbox and Lifeproof are one and the same company. I give the edge, to the Otterbox Defender case in this instance due to the built in screen protector for the iPad Air 2. Lifeproof only produced their NUUD cases which are intentional without such protection for this product.

I feel that this case is great protection for my iPad, which is so thin and lightweight. The reviews were correct this case is very sturdy and it is heavy. I guess it depends on what your particular needs are. I don't carry my iPad around and wouldn't enjoy the heavy weight in my purse. All in all l do like the confidence I feel that my iPad is protected I like the grip it has. I like that product is very well made and the fit to the iPad is perfect.

We bought this case for my 11 year old daughter who received the iPad Air 2 for Christmas. It's a great case, and we have peace of mind knowing the iPad is protected. She loved the color combination.

This otterbox has allowed me to fully and easily use my iPad while at the same time protected it from my clumsy self. It allows me to live life and know that my iPad will be ready to go no matter what.

I own a Griffin Survivor for my iPad 2 that, although an excellent case, is out-performed by the OtterBox Defender. It's in the details--sturdier protection, solid access flaps, multiple stand positions.

I use otterbox products for all my personal devices. This one also doesn't disappoint. Snug fit, easy to keep clean, light and - most important - piece of mind from the inevitable bumps and drops.

OtterBox makes the best cases. The fingerprint reader works great with no issues. The case does add some bulk to the iPad but not too much. The stand that comes with it is awesome as well.

Don't get the Survivor case for your Air-2, its a real piece of junk. I ended up throwing it away & buying the Otterbox Defender, which is perfectly designed for fit, form & function.

Before buying my iPad Air 2 I did a search to make sure otterbox made a case for it and to no surprise they did. Case is very sturdy and seems like it can survive a good fall. Installation was simple enough and once the iPad is in the case it fits nice and secure, all the button are easily accessible and function as they would without the case. If your looking for a case that can pretty much survive most falls, otterbox gets the job done.

I tried another type of case and it just seemed inefficient. This case utilizes many different positions with the stand. From a typing angle to a screen watching angle. Excellent buy.

I feel that my OtterBox Defender Case really protects my new iPad. It has a built-in screen protector and the base is also a nice stand.

I am very pleased with my Otter box Defender iPad Air 2. It protects my iPad as well as has a very good stand and a cover for carrying my iPad along with me. Really suits my needs!

It doesn't show it but there is a second piece with this that snaps on and off. You can use it to cover the whole front screen and it can be a stand for landscape or portrait.

Otter box is a tested brand. Our cellphones case are all otter box. It gives a 100% protection to the iPad that we bought for my 10 year old son. The color looks great too.

Most people that spend mega bucks on an iPad almost always skip put on a case and if they do get one they get the cheapest, crappiest case they can find. I am a huge believer the Otterbox Defender cases. My iPad has been dropped multiple times where the screen should be cracked or the corner scuffed and dented but with this case it is in mint condition. I've seen people bring their iPad in the store with a cracked screen and I just can't believe that they didn't buy a nice case for it like this one.

This otterbox is prefect protection for my iPad especially if you let children hold it and they have little hands that drop it.

I have used this case for about 2 months now, and I absolutely love it. It fits right into my book bag with it slim fisique.

A bit bulky but so worth it considering how fragile iPads are without a case. Love that there's the cover that can hold it while I'm doing something

The iPad Air 2 is not cheap so I wanted a case to protect it. The OtterBox Defender does a great job of that. I also like that it works as a 2 position stand as well.
