Provides great protection for the iPad. Fits nicely.

I am a corporate pilot and my iPad gets used regularly. In the past I have broken or scratched many screens. Not with this. I was first unsure about the sensitivity of the screen with he plastic cover over it but it proved me wrong. I like it. It is easy to clean and I actually like the thickness of holding it much better.

If this can withstand the beating that my 6-year old and 2-year old can put on it, then it can withstand anything. It has been dropped a few times, stepped on etc. It took a few minutes to get it open, and is a bit of a pain if I ever need to clean the iPad itself, but I chalk that up to the heavy-duty protection it provides.

having children I feel this was the best case out there. I love the cover that comes with it.

I have Otterbox defender cases on all my iPhones & I love them. Many times the phones have been dropped & never once did a screen crack. So when we bought our youngest daughter an iPad, we naturally bought an Otterbox defender specifically for her iPad Air2. Very rugged & durable but I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for 3 reasons: 1. Very very difficult getting the case apart to put the iPad inside 2. re-assembling the Otterbox around said iPad & 3. lack of colors. If you can deal with breaking a nail or 2 then this Otterbox is highly recommended.

Yes, it's expensive, but I've been protecting my apple mobile devices with otter box cases for a while, and haven't had one damaged.

I have used OtterBox for my phone and iPad and love them. They stand up and they do what they say that they can do.

This is my 2nd Otterbox, the first was for my iPad2 and it was one of my best purchases ever. This one is a different story! It never quite fit right. The rubber outer case was always a loose fit. As others have mentioned, accessing the power switch was always an act of frustration, to the point it was easier to slide it off when ever I needed to access it. And it's not like you don't need much access to it for oh I don't know things like, soft reboot, screen capture, or even just to power down my iPad to speed up charging. The fit was so bad that it was a struggle to snap the hard cover on it to protect the screen when not using. It got so bad the rubber case tore in the corner by the power switch. And now I'm having issues with using the my touch screen due to the air gap. I should have returned it the same day I got it. I have the new Kindle Fire on preorder, but will have to find a case for it. It's a real shame because my last experience with Otterbox was Great! When my cat got to my original one for my iPad2 and clawed the screen protector I was furious. Since that was the only problem, I took it in to have a secondary screen protector installed, the guy was impressed with the overall condition of my iPad. He asked me if it was always in the Otterbox, "From Day1 I said." But today I would recommend that you buy anything but an Otterbox! In the photos I added talcum powder, while the rubber case was in place, to make it easier to see the gap. And some people might say well just push it in, which is fine for the first minute. But pick up the iPad and start using it and the rubber cover just pops loose again.

I brought this for my 9 year old grand son for his IPAD. He has dropped it several times on concrete and no damage was done to it.

Our daughter wakes up before us every morning; we've set the iPad to allow her access to a few apps. With this Otterbox case, she's dropped it, spilled things on it, and God knows what else, and we haven't had a problem with it at all. GREAT protection if you have kids. Well worth the investment to protect your iPad!

Otterbox has always been the only product I use to protect my family's mobile electronics. Couldn't even guess the amount of money they have saved me over the years. The only reason I don't have an Otterbox case on my Galaxy Tab S2 is because they don't yet offer one. :( Definitely worth the cost to protect your devices!
