This is my second denfender otterbox. My first was for my samsung s6 and had such good luck with keeping it safe, that when I switched to an iPhone I got another. I thought about getting the commuter but read a few reviews about it not being that great may me consider staying with what I know. Yes, it's a little more bulky but safety means more to me. I dropped my Samsung so many times and it never broke.

the otter fits good and tight and gives a good grip has been a pleasure using and the phone is very safe

The Otterbox Defender series is the best case you can buy. It encases your iPhone and provides excellent protection against scratches. It also prevents damage if/when the phone is dropped - even forceful collisions are absorbed by the case. It does add bulk to your phone, but if protection is what you need in a phone case, nothing works better.

I wanted a phone case that was easy to slide in and out of pockets, easily transported, still functional with phone usage. I found the perfect case with the Otterbox - Defenders Series Case. Solid protection for my phone. Durable. Phone functions properly inside case without issues. Perfect! Highly recommend!

I have been very disappointed with all the other iPhone cases. The Otter is the best. It protects my iPhone totally. I like the material of the Otter...it is easy to grip and hold onto. My other cases would slide out of my hand and my phone would slide off my work station...usually ending up on the floor. I will always get an Otter for my phones...I show it to all my friends... It's great!

The Otterbox Defender case offers the most complete protection for the iPhone 5s. Fit and finish is even better than their Commuter series and the integrated screen protector is effective, has excellent clarity, and works great with the Retina display. There is also a cutout for Touch ID. So far my iPhone has remained perfect and undamaged the few times it has been dropped.

Let me be straight forward. I have NOT dropped my phone yet, as I'm too much of a chicken to try it. But should my phone drop sometime in the future, I feel like I have a pretty strong peace of mind that this case will hold up to the test and save my screen from cracking or my phone from breaking. Very little of the phone itself actually shows under the case, as the case itself is like a box that sort of holds and protects the phone from things like dings and scratches. The only parts of the phone itself that show besides the screen (which has a clear plastic layer covering it) is the home button, the speaker/camera area on the front, the camera on the back, and the apple logo on the back. All of these areas are not flush with the box. They're sunken in, which means the only way they'll get scratched is if something pokes at it specifically. This is not likely. I work in retail and I'm constantly banging my phone against counters and desks, my key ring swings around and hits it almost every time I walk. And yet you can't see a single mark on the case at all. It's texture has a grippy feel to it, which helps it not slip out of my hands. Overall it's a very good case and worth the money. If it does ever drop, I'll come back and update with whether or not any damage to the phone occurred.

I have always used Otterbox cases plus a few others but this case is great. I have to say this new design they tried for the Iphone 5 is 10x better than the former case for the 4 and 4s, the silicone or rubber they use is way more durable, doesn't stretch over time and feels a lot better in the hand. I really can't find anything bad to say about this even when I try to think of them, maybe that dust manages to get under the protector BUT I've experienced this in every case. I will say the 2 best cases for an Iphone are the Otterbox Defender or the Ballistic case. Both are extremely durable and have dropped them many of time with no problems whatsoever with the cases or phone. You can get the insurance policy for 9.99 with a 200 deductable... or you can buy a 30-60 dollar case and not worry about any of that. It gets my 2 thumbs up.

I wouldn't dream of carrying a phone without an Otterbox Defender case! I've been known to drop, step on, kick and mistreat my poor iPhone - accidentally of course - and this is the only case that I am 100% confident will protect it! Highly recommend - and Best Buy matched the cheapest online price I found, so this was perfect!

I purchased this as a gift for my nephew. He destroyed two previous phones so he needed a case that would protect his phone from himself. This case fits the bill. If you’re looking for something to protect you son’s or daughter’s iPhone, look no further, this case does the trick.

This case was incredibly easy to install. If fit my iPhone SE perfectly without any prying or hassle. I have a son that tends to break digital screens on a monthly basis by accidental drops. This case has protected a few random drops and has already paid for itself. It has a nice textured feel. I don't have any issues with headphone plugs, charging plugs, volume toggles or power toggles. It's a little bulky, but I wouldn't sacrifice that, because I feel that it absorbs more shock from bumps and drops. I will absolutely purchase more in the future. Excellent product.

The Otter Box Defender series does an excellent job of protecting the phone from damage as a result of being dropped. In addition to it's impact resistance, the case itself makes it easier to hold onto the phone. It's built in protector keeps the screen from getting scratched.

This is the my first iphone and wanted a proven product to protect my investment. This not only provides the protection of my iphone, it also has a belt clip so I don't have to carry it in my pocket. Best of all the Best Buy expert endorsed this product, he also installed it on my iphone for me. It fits like a glove and it looks great. The price was excellent and I am extremely happy with the product and Best Buy. I definitely endorse this product for quality, and value.

The Otterbox Defender is double protection for your phone, first a 2-piece plastic casing form fit, and then a nice thick rubber covering over that. Covers openings from dust when not accessing them, good grip to hand onto phone well, and has its own bulit-in screen shield. Also comes with a clip-on belt/clothing holder when out and about.

Got this case for my iPhone 5s. Phone fits perfectly in the case. Case has a very grip like texture around it to prevent it from falling out of your pocket or sliding around on a smooth surface!

This really protects the iPhone 5s. Provides excellent protection from most mishaps (like accidentally dropping which I have been known to do). It is pretty bulky, but that is the tradeoff for such a durable case.

My wife and I bought this new, specifically to protect as much as possible our hand-me-down iPhone 5's to our kids. This case is the toughest and thickest case I've ever seen, and works exactly as intended: thermonuclear children protection! Kidding aside, our kids drop their phones DAILY for weeks and weeks, but never the iPhone's get damaged due to the amazing thick sturdy construction of this case. The only drawback is you cannot buy this model without the belt clip, which of course our kids don't want and sit in a drawer. This review is for our other kids' different color case of this same model previously reviewed, but this is just cosmetics -- this color yes of course works exactly the same.

If you want to protect your phone, this is the case you want. It is a solid, well built case. This case has already saved the phone from breaking after a couple drops already. Well worth the money.

The Defender Case is a solid basic phone case. It's a good value for the price since it comes with a belt clip. It's a little bulky but doesn't add toouch weight. The only con is the screen protector can get moisture underneath it so you have to dry it out. Otherwise this is a great case for the iPhone 5s.
