||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is the same clamshell/holster OtterBox I have been using on my phones for years and that part is still great. 2 new issues with this case that have me searching for the next decent clamshell made for this phone. First, there is no built-in screen protection. I don't mind and did buy it separately but the screen protection lifts when you squeeze the phone no matter how well it was applied because the case touches it and lifts it. Even paid for the BB guys to try it and same results. BOO! Second, the phone can only go into the holster horizontally one way and it is backward for a right-handed person. Have no choice right now but hate this casa.

We're sorry for any disappointment with your Defender Series case! Our engineers learned that many of these newer displays actually function best without the addition of a built-in screen protector. That being said, we are currently working on our Amplify screen protector for that device, and we're hoping to have it available soon. First Otter Box

With the purchase of the Pixel 3, I wanted to make sure it was protected. It does feel like it has doubled the phone size in thickness, but IMO not too much to make me feel like carrying a brick or won't fit in my pocket. Was pretty easy to install, might have been too excited to look for instructions so a quick google fixed that! I just install the zagg invisible shield glass +visionguard, and once I put the top cover on, it pushed all 4 corners up and made it bubble. Almost got all 4 corners to tuck under (this is even with placing directly on top and not at an angle). Feels pretty solid, but rated at 4 if the case does not give any wiggle room for 3rd party screen protectors. Maybe I am putting too much protection on the phone, don't need any pixel minis coming around, ha. Other than direct impact, might not need screen protector.
