Loved the case from the beginning because of the color (Pink of Course). After opening the package I must say that I had some difficulties getting my phone in the case (couldn't get the darn thing to open). I finally managed to get the phone in its case and a few weeks had passed by; I began to notice that my case had turned into a color magnet and my once very pretty pink case is now a dirty pink (which cannot be cleaned...because I tried). Besides of my case going thru color identity issues the only other issues that I have with this case is that I find it difficult at times to turn the volume up or down and I have to play with the buttons just to adjust the volume and or the power (which is quite annoying after several failed attempts to get it to act right especially for the amount of money that was paid for the case). But overall the case has protected my phone from kissing the floor on several occasions.

The OtterBox makes it easier to handle my phone. I keep the phone in my purse and the OtterBox makes it more secure to take it out of my purse and put it back in my purse and to use the phone. I feel more comfortable handling the phone since I put it in the OtterBox.

Bought this for my dad, we recently got Samsung Galaxy S5's. Fits perfect, not hard to put on, great fit. Not bulky like other cases, I was surprised to see it was thin.

I was wanting a case that would reduce or totally eliminate the likelihood of damaging my new Samsung Galaxy S5. It is a little bulky, so if you plan to carry it like that, it is big. It does what I wanted though, it seems indestructible. It is easy to handle and I don't fumble with it at all. Which was a lot of the reason for dropping my old phone. It is easy to carry on a belt or waist band. I was a little worried that the screen protector would smudge up and not be very cleat, no problems there. It is very clear and doesn't smudge any more than the actual glass. I would recommend this case if you want a solid case that you wouldn't carry in a small or tight pocket.

Have to admit I wasnt sure with my purchase of this case because of the size and weight it made my hand sore for awhile from just holding it when using it. After awhile I got use to it and as always dropped my phone multiple times and spilt things on it and it has saved me over and over again. The size makes it easier to find in my over crowded purse or when I forget where I placed it often in my house. Almost a year since purchased and still intact after all the wear and tear. Bonus is it came with built in screen protector and so happy it did because I always have a hard time putting on the individual ones and having to purchase a case separately seems to be an unnecessary expense when this comes with everything. Variety of color choices are also a plus.

Switched to this product after I got tired of reapplying Zagg screen protectors that bubbled up on the edges because of my clamshell cover constantly pushing on the edges. A little pricey but no more that the 2 products it replaces. At first it is hard to get the phone out of holster one-handed but no problems with that after a week or so. All ports still accessible. Totally easy and zero problems with the screen saver. The extra bulk and weight are its only downsides but that's what gives all the protection so can't really complain about that.

This case fits very well on my Samsung S5 phone. The belt clip is made well but not too heavy or bulky. The outer cover has very good grip so it doesn't slide out of my hand. The overall feel in my hand is solid & secure....doesn't feel like the phone will get destroyed with this case. I have accidentally driven over my cell phone previously with an Otter Box on the phone & the phone survived. I'm a believer in the Otter Box!

I had numerous cases throughout the years for various phones. As far as heavy duty protection, where you might expose the phone to dirt, grime, and possible accidental abuse like bumping, dropping, stepping... you won't find the better case. It has a rubber like outer shell which makes it really good to get secure grip on it, being able to place it on your car seat and not worry about it sliding around. Most other heavy duty cases have a lot of plastic outer shells, which makes is slipper. Also has a inner plastic frame, which adds durability to the phone against crushing forces like stepping on it... also otterbox warranty is top notch.

Since my first smartphone, I've had an otterbox to protect my ridiculously expensive devices. For about $50, and a one minute installation, you have a wonderful, durable, good looking case with screen protection. I've dropped this phone on the cement floor of the garage face down and not a thing broke. Also, Otterbox is AMAZING as a company in replacing defective/damaged product. I made a claim on my last case because the silicone was stretching away from the case and within days I had a new case at no cost to me (:

This product is worth every penny. It has a protective screen cover and a very durable fit to my phone. I feel secure with this cover on my phone. It is very protective all around.

I love the fact that the entire phone is covered and protected by the Otterbox case. It's easy to grip and the purchase includes a belt clip. Absolutely a great buy!

Bought this for my wife as she is a consistent phone dropper. Haven't experienced any damage to her new phone yet; the case is very bulky, heavy, and difficult to take off at times, but if you want to keep your phone safe all of that doesn't matter much.

I've had 3 smartphones in my life and I've used the Otterbox Defender series on all 3. Every job I've had has been tough on those phones and every case has stood up to the challenge. To me, Otterbox leads the way in phone protection. I've dropped phones onto asphalt, cement, hard wood, etc. and not once has my phone ever been damaged. Because I invest in the Defender series case I forgo the phone insurance offered by my carrier. I feel like if I can go 10 months to a year then the case has paid for itself. On the other hand, I feel like I'm not as careless with my phone as those around me are. The other thing to mention is Otterbox's warranty. It's fantastic. If something breaks on the case, the holster, the rubber outer shell starts to loosen, etc. they will replace it free of charge. Just go to their website and fill out a warranty claim form and wait for a response. Yes, Otterbox cases do have their issues, but I don't know of a case or holster that doesn't have something go wrong with it sooner or later. However, you're getting a good quality product when you spend a little extra for some peace of mind.

Otterbox has always been top-dog in protective cases. The only draw to the competition was waterproofing, but now most upscale phones are water-resistant. The case is awesome. Silicone outer casing: Older versions of the OBD had a rubbery, stretchy silicone that became shiny and slippery and loose from the polycarbonate after a short time. The new case has a much IMPROVED silicone that has less plasticity. It feels stronger, less stretchy and tougher. The silicone is also easy to remove, IF you start by pulling out the thin part at the screen-side of the power port. Polycarbonate inner shell: Older OBD inner shells were almost impossible to separate if you needed to access your battery or SD card, or just for cleaning. The new inner shell is much a much better design. It is still a tight, exact, protective fit that locks together. However, separating the pieces is very simple and doesn't kill your finger tips. It is also easier to put back together. The case does not interfere with the fingerprint scanner or any other function of the touch screen. The screen protector is thicker plastic that can blur the image *if it is dirty.* Gently clean your screen protector with a barely dampened cloth and no worries. All ports are protected and completely accessible. The power port on this model does not have a silicone flap, because the GS5's water-resistance rating already requires/provides a built-in gasket to the power port. Holster/Stand: has design improvements that prevent the phone from falling out and it functions as a kickstand as well. All ports are accessible even in the stand. You can use a wired headset with it on your belt or plug in the charger when using the kickstand feature. It can be difficult to feel the device on a vibrate notification, but that may be the design of my clothes vs. a problem with the holster itself. I find that the holster helps me remember my phone and not panic wondering which pocket it is in. It is always in my holster. Even when the holster is off my waist for the night, I try to keep the phone in the stand as to not lose the accessory. This case has already saved my phone from 2-3 falls to pavement and tile; from a pouring rainstorm and from my toddler spilling my coffee cup. I have tried other brands intermittently on the iPhone 3G and SG3 that I had before this. Nothing compares to the Otterbox Defender.

It is such a great phone case! It protects the screen to my phone as well as the entire phone too. I don't have to worry about dirt and grime making my phone all gross after working all day. I would highly recommend this case for anyone that has a dirty job! I like the bright colors as well! It can be easily found.

Bought this for my 12 year old granddaughter's phone.Best Buy was the ONLY store I was able to find it in purple and we didn't have to go through the hassle of ordering the color she wanted and waiting for it to come in. Also I was able to use some bonus points so that made it an even better deal :) Excellent product. We also have several otters on other phones.

I have not yet dropped my new Samsung S5 with the OtterBox case on, so I cannot say for certain that it WILL be effective, but it SEEMS like it will be. I hope to never find out. The screen protection and rubber back do appear to do their intended job well. The rubber improves your grip, so you're less likely to drop the phone. However, while the screen appears to be well protected, the smudge factor is through the roof! Additionally, the case is a crumb/sand/dirt/etc. magent! If you go to the beach, or if you work in construction or landscaping, or if you eat while on the phone, etc. etc. etc., expect to get stuff into the case that won't readily come out. In other words, while I am aware it's not supposed to "seal" the phone in, it doesn't even come close. Moreover, it's a darn good thing the Samsung S5 is supposedly "waterproof" (another thing I hope to never test), because water easily gets into the case and all over your phone. If you're outside in the rain, expect to have your phone get wet, regardless of being in the case. Then expect to have to remove your phone from the case to allow both to dry. For me though, I wanted a case that would prevent damage by the user (ie. dropping it, etc.) because that's not covered under the phone's warranty. I think that the OtterBox will achieve this end. Bottom line? I'd buy it again.

these cases are amazing! I love that it have the hard case, screen protector, and rubber casing all in one. I bought one for my husband and I almost a year ago and it works great so I bought one for my daughter because she always breaks her phone. Would suggest that anyone who is hard on phones gets this case.

I decided on the otterbox defender case because I am prone to drop my phone and felt I needed the extra protection. It does make the phone a little larger and was more expensive than other cases, but I am very happy with it so far. And YES, I have already dropped it several times with no damage to the phone. I also like the color (purple), a black case gets lost in my purse.
