I purchased the Otter Box Defender when I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and was initially a little skeptical because my prior case was the Lifeproof which is bulkier and at least FEELS more secure. my ONLY complaint about the Defender is that I wish that it came with a screen protector because, at $800+ for the phone, a scratch on the glass screen will likely make me hyperventilate. :-)

This case protects my phone perfectly. My second phone protected with an Otter Box case. Bought last one on the first day of owning that phone. It lasted the entire three year plus years. For some reason I couldn't find this one in white. Color wasn't that critical compared to the protection this offers.

I've used Otter cases for some time now. While seemingly expensive, if you amortize the cost of the case over the years you have an unscathed phone it's short money indeed. The only thing about this case for the Galaxy 8+ is that it obscures part of the wrap around screen. That said, have found the wrap around screen more a gimmick than anything else, so it doesn't bother me any more. Normally I would say it comes in too many parts to put together, but not in this 'case.' True, it does come in many parts, but it's neat to see the end result. Just wish the phone/case had a protective screen on them. Love it, and will definitely get an 'otter' one when the time comes.

Good protection. I do miss the cover for the screen being built in though.

I purchased this item without the item having reviews. I've had an Otterbox Defender case on my phones since they came out, so I know how their quality was and what to expect. I was unaware the this Otterbox did not come with a screen protector as ever other Defender case has. Just be aware that this is a "screenless" series. That being said, it was not an issue for me since I take the screen protector off and apply a tempered glass one instead. The case seems like any other Defender case I've owned and can't wait to set my S8+ in there.

I won't buy a different case for my smartphones! I just recently had to get a new phone after having my old phone for years. It was also protected by an OtterBox. I upgraded to the Galaxy S8+ and with the OtterBox Defender. It is a very sturdy case, much more so than just the commuters etc of OtterBox. I love the color, aqua mint, and so far it's not showing dirty smudges! I would definitely recommend an OtterBox for those expensive cell phones. Now if the Zagg screen protector lived up to its reputation for the S8+, but the OtterBox in no way affects the ability of that screen protector, it just doesn't stick on its own. Would definitely repurchase.

This is my first Otter box case but my husband has always had one. I read a lot of reviews before the purchase it was between this and 'Lifeproof'. I love my choice. I've not had any problems the case fits and looks great. I opted not to get the glass shield for the front because I am very careful with my phone and I had another case and I didn't have a shield and I did drop it and didn't have any problems and that was a cheap case I bought off Amazon for $7 so I figured I should be safe with Otter box. But that's why I scored it 4 stars instead of the full 5 because it's still a possibility that something could crack because the glass isn't fully protected. But if you are unsure go ahead and purchase this one it's great and even without the shield I still feel my phone is protected.

I would not have a cell phone without an Otter Box. Good quality and strong protection. However the design of the holster leaves a little to be desired.The center piece that holds the phone in the holster is prone to break. I am not telling what I heard, I am telling what I know. I had one for a phone that had the "locks" on each end and it was perfect.

Just wish it protected the screen better but overall good case

It is working great. We found out immediately. Thank heavens we decided to put the cover on in the store. We walked out and some idiot was not watching where they going and literally walked right over us causing the phone to be dislodged from her hand hitting the ground.

I have purchases several otterbox cases for many different phones that my family has and otterbox cases are just great. They are a bit $$ however if you watch and look you can almost always find the one that you want on sale. ALWAYS BUY AN OTTERBOX. What else can I say.

I only purchase OtterBox cases. Anytime I want to protect my phone - something we all pay a lot of money for, I use OtterBox. Great product. Great protection. Great price. Plus, this one was on sale for $30 and came in the blue and gray colors of the LA Dodgers!

Had a cheaper otter box on my Galaxy S8+, when I first got my phone. 1 drop and the screen shattered. This Defender series fits perfect to the phone and feels a lot stronger and sturdier. Hope I don't drop my phone again, but I think it is better protected now.

If your worried about your phone, This is the case to have. A little expensive , adds quite a bit of bulk, but it really is worth it. The protection is phenomenol.

Bought this for the Samsung 8+ my goto is the defender so of course i wanted it for this phone. I was a little turned off because this defender is screenless. The screen I feel is a really big thing especially because this cost more then commuter. But still a great product would be a 5 star with the screen.

I first bought the rear slip on otter box case and when my phone fell on concrete sidewalk two of the phone corners cracked. I then purchased the otter box defender case. The last two times I dropped the phone nothing cracked. It works well.

Overall this is a great case, another quality product from Otter Box. Wish there were more color options, but that's to be expected when you're trying to buy a case on a phone's release date...I'm sure they'll have more options soon. Would also be nice if they weren't so insanely expensive. I understand it's a higher quality product compared to some other brands, but seriously...it's a tiny bit of plastic and some rubber, not a space shuttle component. But it works as advertised and hasn't failed me yet, so can't complain too much. Would buy again.

Although a bit pricey, I'd recommend this case as it offers good protection and very easy to put together over my Samsung 8+

I owned another otterbox for another phone. Seemed heavy and bulky. On the phone i have now, i didnt get one in the beginning but decided to get o e and so glad i did. Made me realize its the best protection for my phone.

So we love the otterbox brand. We have always used it with our phones. This is a solid otterbox, however, what is keeping it from getting 5 stars you ask? This is a SCREENLESS case... so every other defender case we have EVER bought, had a screen protector built in, this one DOES NOT!!! So not only did we pay $53 for the case, we also had to purchase a stand along screen protector for a whopping 17.99. Generally I wouldn't complain, but I fully expected to pay the price tag for the case which included the screen protector, but not without! But other than that, the quality is there, the clip works great and my phone is protected, save the screen...
