Nice case, not too big or bulky. Easy to put on. Feels strong and protective

Given the price of new phones, I refuse to leave the store without a case. I've used Otterbox cases on a previous phone and was pleased with their performance. If I take my old phone out of its case, it looks brand new- and it's 6 years old! So far I've dropped my phone several times on hard and soft surfaces, including in a gravel parking lot. The phone still works fine. My only gripe is that no screen protector came with this case. I had to purchase a separate curved glass screen protector.

This is not my daily case, but the one I use for outdoor use. I feel confident it will protect my phone! It does add a good amount of bulk, but that is the protection. I always get an OtterBox case and this one does not disappoint. The purple color matches quite well with my purple phone! (My last phone was pink and the pink case was not a good match).

I definitely recommend this phone case. I tend to drop my phone at least once a week. Honestly, the case doesn't even have scratches, even in the corners. The access points for the charging cable and ear buds are a little stiff in the beginning but the plastic relaxes after a bit, without compromising the strength of the case.

I have been using Otter Box phone cases for along time. I travel a lot and have found them to be effective in protecting my phone from dusty, dry deserts and rainy seasons extraordinaire! The only thing about this on is it does not have a built in screen protector. I hope that works out ok in all of those situations!

We purchased a new Samsung S9 phone and this cover fits the phone to a "T" The purple color is nice and it has a pink inner color. The plastic carrier we bought also has a clip that fits on my belt. It is very secure. I just need to remember to always clip it to my belt rather than putting the phone in my pocket.

I've had an Otterbox Defender on every cell phone I've owned in the last ten years. I was disappointed to see this was the first defender case I've purchased that did not come with screen protection. Went to the Otterbox website to see if there was a model with it but there was none I could find. They will however let you purchase a separate screen protector which is almost as much as the case....gee thanks guys!! Also waiting to see if the rubber skin wears out and stretches like all of the others or if they've improved the design. That aside, I still love the defender series case with the protection it provides, and Otterbox warranty is great and easy should you have a problem.

I didn’t realize that the defenders no longer have screen protectors. I had a sales associate place an order for me in store since they were out of stock. I went home and read the reviews and learned about this change. I will be keeping it since I got a great price match deal. It still has the same quality. It feels less bulky than other models I’ve owned which is a plus. I’d say it’s almost perfect.

Great protection. A bit bulky for some and perfect for others. I think it's all about perspective depending on what sort of thickness and protection each person is looking for. I have bad luck with dropping phones and buying this case put me at ease!

I was a bit worried that with the curved screen the Otterbox would barely stay above the curve, but it works well. The extra screen protector also gives me confindence. Although the phone is a bit longer than I'm used to, the case works well. So far no drop damage.

Stylistically, the case is very sleek and neat, and not to bulky, living up to the high standards set for OtterBox Defender Series cases. Despite it being fairly slim, the case is tough and sturdy, and can easily withstand accidental drops and other damage. The rubber exterior is tough and textured for easier grip, able to withstand a lot of abuse. The plastic casing is also high quality, scratch resistant, textured for easier handling, easy to clean, and very sturdy. The only fallback to this is that it is a workout to take the phone out and put it back in the casing, but the instructions are clear and there are simple steps, and you shouldn't be removing it often at all, so I'm not taking this into consideration because I personally don't see a problem with it. All-in-all, the case surpasses the standards OtterBox and myself have set for the Defender Series for Samsung Phones and is definitely affordable. Suggest to price match from Amazon, as Best Buy will price match Amazon prices assuming they are brand new, in-stock, and shipped and sold by Amazon. This will certainly help save money for the new Samsung Galaxy S9.

OtterBox usually doesn't disappoint. Chose this model given I work outside. I haven't dropped phone, but it appears if phone is dropped, screen is protected, but we will see. Not easy for company's to protect the Samsung phones with edge to edge screen.

I love Otter box cases and have had one on all my phones, however this is the first on that didnt have the integrated screen protector. It has a lip that sticks out to kind of protect the screen but a direct scratch will not be stopped. It is thin and light weight and so far has been awesome.

I have always purchased the Otter Box "Defender Series" cases, as quality and durability are of utmost importance, when I choose to spend upwards of $800 or more, for my smartphone. I have never been disappointed with the product until now: Why no screen protector? I was notified by the Best Buy staff, that "Otter Box" was no longer being produced/packaged with its standard, included, screen protector. BIG disappointment guys, especially in light of the "factory recall" of the ZAGG glass/plastic screen protectors for the Galaxy S9/S9+, according to the reps at Best Buy. I would recommend an "Otter Box" Defender Series case,however, this new "downgrade" of the product line, with the company choosing to no longer include the screen protector, is the reason for my "3 star" review. Unfortunately, the customer will need to prepare to purchase the screen protector separate from the case from now on.

While I wish the case had a protective cover over the screen, I can understand why it does not. It would be nice if they would have included a stick on screen protector though. As with other Otterbox Defender cases, this one provides a multi-layer approach to protecting the phone.

This is my second Otterbox case. My first one was for a Samsung S4 that was only recently sent out to pasture. Obviously a phone upgrade was WAY overdue by now. I never considered anything other than an Otterbox for my case -- these are tough cases! In addition to being tough, I like the belt clip feature. I don't like cell phones as a rule, and I don't walk around everywhere with my head in a screen as so many do. Recent family issues required the upgrade. I can just clip the phone to my belt and forget about it until I receive a call wherever I am. An added bonus is that the belt clip easily converts to a kick stand. I can easily watch streamed video from YouTube or Amazon Prime during my insomniac nights with my phone on the nightstand. Otterbox is the only cell phone case I'll ever use.

This is my first time buying a good protective cover. I asked a lot of friends what they would recommend and almost everyone had this one. So far so good. It is easy to hold because of the rubber case I feel it will serve me well.

I have used OtterbBox for all my phones for years. Love the design for s9. slimmer but still same great protection. I usually remove screen proctor and use glass one any way but s9 does not come with one so that may be a downside for you
