I had a otter box defender years ago for a HTC evo and had the same problem. I would have thought that otter box would have solved that problem by now.

Posted .2557. Hi Scarecrow, Two for two, huh? Well, that is certainly not the experience that we’d like you to be having with your OtterBox Defender cases. Screen sensitivity issues tend to be fairly isolated, but obviously can inhibit the enjoyment of your device. Often times, a simple reinstallation will correct the problem. Go ahead and remove your iPhone, and then reset it into the front lid piece first, placing it facedown into the screen protector. This should give you a nice, flush fit between the two. You will want to be sure that you are not using an additional screen protector on your iPhone, as this will create pressure on the sides of the lid and cause the center of the Defender’s screen protector to bow out in the center. If you find the issue persists, please don’t hesitate to give our friendly Otters a call at 1-855-688-7269, and we’ll be more than happy to get you set up with a warranty replacement lid/base assembly to smooth this right out!

The only thing I might change at some point is to remove the plastic screen protector as it can get dust or small particles under it.

The built-in screen protector is a plus but sometimes it made the touchscreen less responsive. Also, you cannot use this type of case on wireless chargers if your phone has that feature.

It may also be a little bulkier but more secure.

The only complaint I have is regarding the amount of dust the case will let between the phone and the case. Other than this, a great case.
