I shattered my previous iPad (had one of those portfolio cases on it. I’m super clumsy and bought a new ipad with this case and it works GREAT!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT even got it for my iPhone 11. The case comes with a screen protector on it and a separate hard shell case that converts to a stand. 10/10 would recommend. Putting it on was slightly challenging but only because of the extra support the case offers.

It’s exactly what I was looking for-something durable, & rugged to protect my young daughter’s new iPad for school. (She’s 5 & in preK) I didn’t want her to have it until I got this first. We had one similar for the older model iPad so she’s used to it. Very pleased with this. Only wish the stand part of the case was at a better angle than what it’s manufactured as. But all in all a great case!

I love Otterbox products. For a clumsy person like me cases like this comes in handy. It was a big struggle opening the case to put it on my ipad but once its on its on. I havent dropped my ipad yet **fingers crossed** but I think it’ll withstand the impact. Plus it comes with a built in screen protector

Not the cheapest case by a long shot but it will protect the iPad from any tantrum my 2 year old can throw at it. Looks like it would protect against some accidental water, but I wouldn’t take it with me swimming or anything where it would be immersed in water. A little difficult to get on but will stay put once on. It does add some bulk to the iPad 8, especially with the cover and gives it more weight, not enough to be problematic for me however. The screen cover does double as a stand which helps during long zoom calls or when watching a video hands free. Highly Recommend.

Finally was able to get a hold of one of these. They have been sold out everywhere and now I see why. This case is built like a tank, has a built in screen protector and can then be taken out of the outer shell but the iPad still has the inner shell on. And the outer shell had a built in spring loaded stand with two viewing angles. One for watching and one for typing. Great case but it is definitely pricey!

This Otterbox is a little over kill. BUT, absolutely does its job. I thought this was the same thing I had for my older iPad, with just the rubber outer shell/shield, but it has a front and back and a screen protector. Works very well, but I can’t easily remove the shell to set on wireless charger. So its more a plus/minus retrospect. I’d prefer a little less protection so I can easily add/remove the cover. But the cover, does exactly what it’s intended to do. If you want super solid protection at a pretty low profile, this is your thing. If you want protection with the ability to easily remove the cover, this isn’t it. Hope this helps

I like this one more than the otter we had for a 5th gen ipad. These are for my kids so they use these more but I like how it looks and it doesn't seem as bulky. I know these cases will protect their tablets. They would get abused even thrown up on one this one time, I know eeeeew and it's just bound to happen with kids. I can say though since we have the old 5th gen to the 4 year old who left it on the floor and her dad gets home with no clue... got accidentally stepped on and there is crack on her screen so I can say for sure these can handle a lot but they have a limit though it's a limit just with younger ones teach them iPads don't go on the floor. This is the previous model of course and I assume from the previous cases they're not dust or waterproof. Sometimes I have to take these off and clean the tablets and especially when I liquid spills but take care of those spills right away including taking it off to clean the tablet right away you'll be ok and not out of a lot of money. These will save your life, your money really haha.

I have one similar to my iPhone one so i went for this case for my first iPad. I made a great choice...it is a little heavy but it will keep my device safe for sure! Also has a small stand attached to it and cover for storage.

Sturdy case offering complete coverage .It has a sturdy screen coverage Outer shell turns into a sturdy stand. This case is more expensive than many others but it is clearly superior in protection.

This case is study. It weighs almost as much as the IPad. Fits snug, and protects the device. My wife already dropped it, and unlike her last ipad, this one survived a 3 foot drop onto the floor.

I have always loved otter box products, but like apple products, they are at a much higher price point than I usually can justify spending . However, I have always been a fan and you get what you pay for and this product is no different. I love how it has a spot for the apple pen, as well as being able to stand my iPad up in 4 different positions. The greatest part; I went to buy a nice case that would hold the apple pen, as well as going to buy a screen protection . I got both in 1 and the case is amazing. Well done otter box.

On the advice of my grandson. I purchased this case for my new IPad. It was a little heavier than I wanted, but he said “you will get used to it really quick” - and I did! It offers great protection against drops and spills. There is a clear cover over the screen also, so spills will not cause damage. I was not in favor of this, as I once had a phone case like that and it did not perform well for me. However, I do not even know this screen cover is there. And it saves having to pay another $40-$50 for the glass screen protector. The cover can be used for extra protection, or used as a multi-position stand . Just an over-all great purchase. I highly recommend it.

Best ipad case I've seen. very protective/secure, yet not bulky. built in stand (2 positions) works great. Rubber outside protects from drops.

This case is very durable, as I expect from an Otterbox Defender, and it provides great protection against drops and scrapes. My one issue is that the cover over the fingerprint sensor made it not work very well. I ended up peeling that piece off, which was really easy, and now the sensor works great. The connector for external keyboard is inaccessible, but I don't plan to use one for now. The case is difficult to take off but it is worth it to me for the superior protection. It does make the iPad a little bulkier, but no more so than I was expecting.

Durable and good protector. It is not bulky or thick nor heavy. It protects ipad great and easy to clean and install.

Bought for our new iPad after having great experiences with OtterBoxes for my Samsung phone. The phone is almost five years old and it still looks good as new after being in an OtterBox the entire time I have had it. The iPad case is easy to put on the iPad and the stand part has several different settings depending on how you want to sit the iPad. So far, the case is working perfectly!

Typical otterbox quality, fit, and finish. This model DOES have the built-in screen protector, which is nice. The price is absolutely insane, unfortunately. The otterbox folks know that people will buy their product because of their reputation. This was the only case I could find, so I HAD to buy it. Perhaps the price will come down in the future? I would suggest waiting unless you absolutely need this case - paying the high otterbox prices only fans the flames of exorbitant profit margins.
