The battery life of the ring is great, it’s as comfortable as any ring you might buy but the biggest plus is that it’s a smart tracking device that you can wear without any thought. It’s not a watch you may forget to throw on or charge, this is a ring that you can wear in your day to day life and forget about. The app is great and intuitive. The subscription isnt the worst but it would be nice if oura would sell us a complete product that isn’t locked behind a subscription paywall. It’s great for what it is, but not perfect.

Wow. The 5 seems like 10% the size of 4. I forget I have my 5 on. I noticed the 4 all day long. Little disappointed that there is no trade in. VERY disappointed in having to buy new charges, this mistake is a rookie mistake. The Oura 5 ring is the best, their charges suck. The Dark Rose is like a rich copper. I am a cooper fan and really like it. I personally don't care for normal rose gold.

I’ve been wearing a smart ring for the past few years and, in my opinion, have found that it’s one of the most convenient and comfortable ways to keep tabs on my health and fitness tracking versus other options such as a watch. Being that it has been several years since I invested in a smart ring, I decided it was time for an upgrade and replacement to catch up to the latest technology. I switched from a different brand to the newest edition of the Oura Ring, the Oura Ring 5, because it was recommended by others at our gym that have Oura Rings and they swear by it. After initially charging the ring, it was very easy to set up using the smart phone app, creating an account and entering my personal information so the ring and app companion could get a better understanding of my personal details such as my age, weight, height, activity level, etc. and use that information to make user specific recommendations throughout each day, week, month, etc. Upon setting up your account, it does give you a free trial of their upgraded tracking and AI features which I also strongly recommend after using it for a little over a week. The ring is so lightweight and comfortable that I forget I’m wearing it most of the time. Unlike a smartwatch, I never feel the need to take it off, especially at night, which means my data is much more consistent. The battery life is great, lasting about a full week on a single charge using the included charging dock, therefore I don’t find myself having to charge it nearly as often as my smart watch. The app is easy to understand and gives meaningful insights instead of overwhelming me with information. Everything feels personalized and genuinely useful. It even scored my heart age and tracks my cycle, all in one easy to use app. The sleep tracking is incredibly detailed and fascinating to wake up every morning and see exactly how well my body recovered overnight. I love that it doesn’t just give me numbers, the AI features help me understand how my sleep, stress, activity, and recovery all work together. One of my favorite features is the Readiness Score that helps me decide whether I should push myself in the gym or give my body a little extra recovery; I’ve found myself listening to my body much more because of it. As someone taking vitamins and medications, including GLP-1 medication, I appreciate how the software and AI in the app takes my personal information combining it with my sleep, activity, stress, etc. to provide me a better understanding of my overall wellness. Seeing those trends and numbers over the past week combined with the AI features has been eye opening and motivating. If you’re looking for a wearable that’s focused on improving your health rather than just counting steps or sending notifications, I highly recommend the Oura Ring 5 along with their subscription service for more inclined health and fitness tracking. For me, it’s become something I wear all day, every single day, and it’s completely changed the way I not only understand my health and body but use the recommendations the software gives me to make adjustments throughout my busy days.

I’ve had a few generations of the Oura, by far the upgrade was worth it to me in comparison from 4 to 5 gen. The size, weight, and width of the ring matters a lot to me— also really like that they fixed the gold color. If you don’t care much for the difference in size and only for features, just save and get a gen 4. Oh, and battery life has been great, I’ve gotten about 8 to 9 days per charge thus far.

I have worn the Oura Ring 5 for the last two weeks and I can easily leave a positive review for it. This is my first smart ring. I do have a smart watch, and have for years, but due to battery life, I am unable to wear it to bed and have it track my sleep habits. That is probably my number one reason for getting the Ring 5 initially—to track my sleep habits and make sure that I am getting the rest and recovery that I need each night. I also got the Ring 5, to be honest, to wear as a wedding ring because it is made out of titanium and has a nice black finish on it that looks excellent. Serves as double-duty—helps track my health and shows off my marriage (28 years and still going strong!). I used the sizing kit to measure my finger. It comes with multiple sized plastic rings, and you receive it prior to getting the Ring 5. I tried on the 12 and the 13 rings, and really struggled to know which one to get. I’m generally a 12.5, and since the 12 felt a little too tight, I went with the 13. After receiving the size 13, I kind of wish that I had gone with the 12. The 13 does spin around on my ring finger, and the sensors will end up aiming in the wrong direction. So just a head’s up for prospective buyers: size carefully and maybe choose on the tighter end. I wasn’t sure what to expect when the Ring 5 showed up, but it was a surprise. It was lighter than light! After handling it, I thought for a moment that maybe it was made out of plastic and I was going to be disappointed if so. But I did some research online and saw that it was made out of titanium with a special coating (I got the gloss black), and that alleviated any concerns that I might have had with longevity and holding up under use. The Ring 5 is relatively narrow. I was expecting and maybe hoping for a wider ring, which would look a little better with my sausage fingers. That being said, The Ring 5 still looks great. The Ring 5 talks to a smartphone app. I installed it on my iOS device and it took only a few minutes to get everything set up. I’m not going to talk much about the app, since this review is about the ring itself, but the amount of information that is shared between the two is astonishing and takes a while to get used to. I am a big fan of the daytime stress score, which I have used to take breaks when it hits a high. I also like that it tracks activity better than my smart watch. It even seems to know what activities I am doing (yard work, walking, swimming, etc.) and logs that much better than my smart watch. I was shocked at the battery life that the Ring 5 has. I wear it everywhere—bed, work, exercising, etc. I’ve worn it for a week straight without a charge, and I am finally getting to the point that I need to charge it. It is water resistant, I wear it in the pool. I’ve done physical labor and then looked at it, thinking I probably just scratched it—nope, all good. This thing is tough! Charging it is easy, I love the charger. Just sit it on it and it charges quickly. I am a fan of the Ring 5. I haven’t had a smart ring before, and I am glad to give this one a try.

Bought the Oura Ring 5 in silver, size 7, for my wife and she's been very happy with it. The fit was perfect and the silver finish looks sleek and stylish. She especially likes the detailed sleep and activity tracking, and the battery life has been impressive so far. Set up was straightforward and the app is easy to use. Overall, it's been a great purchase and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a smart ring with a premium feel.

Bottom Line: The Oura Ring 5 delivers accurate sensing and excellent battery life in an amazingly thin and light design. Pros: extremely light; looks great; good biometric tracking; battery life Cons: Subscription-based model for full features Full Review: My ring is a size 11 in the silver finish. Out of the box, I was shocked at how thin and light it is. It’s not much thicker than my wedding band, but the Oura is noticeably a lot lighter. The silver finish looks great, and both my wife and I agree it could, indeed, be worn as a wedding band for those interested in for the most discreet look possible (although Oura recommends you wear the ring on your index finger). After straightforward setup in the app, your ring gets right to work tracking heart rate and activity monitoring. For the latter, the sensors do a good job of picking up on activity and movement, which is then used to build your health and activity profile over time. I particularly like the sleep tracking feature, since it’s much less obtrusive to wear the ring to sleep than a smart watch. The sleep report was easy to read, and I’ve actually gained a lot of insight into my sleep patterns over the past few weeks. That said, many of the health insights do require longer tracking periods. The blood oxygen sensor, for instance, requires a walking test or multiple week use period before giving you an assessment of your cardio health. Other insights require days, weeks, or even months of data to construct, although once built the insights are helpful. The app also provides suggestions on activity to improve those metrics. Battery life is excellent. Since getting the Oura right, I’ve worn it almost continuously, only removing it to wash dishes, shower, or to charge. In my experience so far, I’ve been getting about 10 days out of a single charge., As a new Oura user, the biggest drawback, I think, is that full functionality requires a subscription, and it’s not immediately clear what will work without it (new members do get the first month free). Oura’s website FAQ simply says the app will function but insights, personal health data, and benefits will be “much more limited.” Last, and this is true of any subscription/cloud-based product, Oura will be collecting, storing, and analyzing your health data, and so buyers should be aware and that as well.

The Oura Ring 5 brings several welcome upgrades, but its biggest improvement is the smaller, lighter design. The slimmer profile makes it noticeably more comfortable for all-day and overnight wear, while the enhanced sensors and new health features add meaningful value without sacrificing battery life. For many users, the reduced size alone makes this a worthwhile refinement over previous generations.

I have a few wearables like a FitBit and Apple Watch, but none of them are as comfortable as the Oura ring. ON top of being comfortable, it's quite nondescript in appearance making it a little more out of the way. I have the gen 4 Oura ring and this gen 5 version has some nice enhancements. Firstly, the size. Being a ring, there's only so much you can have size wise with one but the gen 5 version does manage to shave off a couple millimeters compared to the previous gen. Now it might not be much but appearance wise, it does look a bit nicer and feels a smidge more comfortable as well. Next, the battery life seems quite improved with this gen 5 version. The older version lasted quite a bit easily but this Oura 5 can go several days without needing a charge, Nice in that it's one less thing I need to constantly charge. FYI, the charger for the gen 4 is different for gen 5 ring. Biggest pro for this ring is obviously the data it tracks. From your typical heart rate, sleep, steps, etc., you have a plethora of data to review AND receive metrics back on through the Oura app,. The stress and overall health cards I find the most resourceful to me. On top of being so small and discreet, this wearable provides a lot of data aimed at getting you better health and better insight into your activities.

Comfortable and super lightweight. After about a day I barely even felt like it was there! Battery life is also pretty impressive. This was my first smart ring and I love it already.

This one feels a lot more comfortable given that it's smaller and light. Battery life is so much better and it is a lot stronger to scratches than the previous model.

Having smaller hands and fingers, I mainly upgraded to the 5 from the 4 because of the benefits of being 40% smaller. The size and comfort difference is noticeable for me, but if you have average size to larger fingers is the switch necessary? Probably not. Make sure you are sure on your sizing. I ordered a 9 because that's what I was wearing in series 4, but had to go to a size 10 for the 5 because of how they retooled the contact sensors in the ring, and it was just too tight. I'm not sure if the sizing kit accounts for the way the sensors make contact with your fingers, but just be aware you might have to try a couple different sizes even if you're already in an Oura.

While the new oura is much slimmer than the 4, and the gold is significantly more realistic, I have noticed connection issues immediately after purchasing which is certainly disappointing.

A comprehensive view of your health once it establishes your norms. The only wearable I can sleep in and it's sleep diagnostics are unmatched. Sleep is probably the area I most need to monitor. But Oura can detect when you start to get sick so can get treatment before the symptoms become unbearable.

This is my first Oura ring and I was extremely happy that the 5 came out just in time before I pulled the trigger on the 4. So far, a week in, I am amused by the data it tracks and shares. It seems accurate and is a nice addition with my apple watch.
