I saw this years ago and picked it up on Blu-Ray in the bargain bin. I wasn't disappointed to revisit such an interesting take on the Sci-fi Beowulf "genre". Yes, there is more than on film that fits this category. Jim Caviezel, Sophia Myles, John Hurt, Ron Perlman. Other cast also did a good job. The story is decent. The CG is fine and even good much of the time. The performances are, as expected, what sell this gem of a movie. The blu-ray transfer is good as well. Buy it. You will want to see it more than once.

Movie of a human-like alien Space movie, comes to Earth tracking a dangerous space creature that killed his family. He has to fight the odds, being in old Viking times without a weapon that can kill the creature! The space alien is a favorite actor Jim Caviezel.

I really enjoyed Outlander. It is great original science fiction movie with an excellent cast.

What if there was really an alternate reality, separated by time in seconds or hundreds of years, and all you had todo is find some standing stones and travel back and forth from one to the other, wouldn’t this be thoroughly fascinating? Diana Gabbaldon, has found our weakness for good stories and drama and has taken us for a long, long ride in to the past with romantic fare. Good stories and well acted.

This movie has good action and good acting and it was fun to see.

love the premise of the movie. A space warrior crash lands on earth and becomes a viking. He defeats an enemy also from the future that was stow away on his ship. Using tools that the vikings used. Movie has some great action scenes.

Outlander is a hard movie to put in a particular genre. Monster movie versus Viking saga, with space traveler thrown in. Interesting movie. Good special effects and the price was definitely right.

Outlander is a fun sci-fi action movie with a good cast and good story. It also has good effects and fine production values. Perfect kind of action entertainment to pass time on a rainy day .

Have always loved this movie and has such a great story to it. Definitely worth owning.

Aliens crash land on earth during the viking age. What more could you want?

This movie is often described as Beowulf meets Predator. The basic premises offer fertile grounds for multiple movies: - An alien ship lands in our earth's past - The ship contains both good and evil - The alien good element must collaborate with earthlings to defeat the alien evil. The story is gripping, albeit a little too bloody for my PG-13 preference. But it's the Viking setting that makes the film stand out from the crowd. Caviezel's performance is outstanding, as one would expect from an actor who in an earlier movie did an excellent portrayal of a much greater hero, the God-Man.

Liking "space" and "medieval" made for a good combination. I don't watch TV and apparently there was a spinoff or two. Anyway, the movie exceeded my expectations.

Great escapist movie, plenty of action and a decent plot.

By no means a classic - but eminently re-watchable nonetheless. (And that's a key criteria for buying any title.) Good fun.

This movie has a twist of a plot. Unique story with lots of action and special effects. Liked it a lot.

A good escapist tale about a futuristic man being dropped into a pre-tech world and having to cope. Easy to put myself into the main character position and enjoy the film that way.
