As much fun as a barrel of Minons!

Overlord is reminiscent of a game I used to play call Dungeon Keeper. I don't know if Bullfrog (the maker of DK) changed their name, or were bought out, but it is very similar and has a very similar kind of fun. There is a lot of dark humor, which really brings to life the game and is one of the main reasons it is worth playing. This game has an easy to learn beginning and definitely starts out easy. It does get more difficult, but not so much that you get overly frustrated. You can choose between being evil or really evil, keep in mind; you need worshippers in order to be an Overlord. In the game you control minions very much in the style of Pikmin. Each different color has it's own attributes. The green ones are the only ones that can go into poison areas, the red ones are immune to fire, and the blue ones can go in water. All of these lead to some pretty decent puzzles over all. Each also has their own fighting style, but you can find that out in the game. The online multiplayer does lack a little, but is still some fun to play; I would not recommend buying it for the multiplayer though. All in all, I definitely recommend this game. It is fun, challenging in parts, and has a lot of good achievements to obtain.

    Declare War on Sheep?

There are some games you play when you are in a serious mood and there are some games that you play to laugh. This one will certainly make you laugh. If you are looking for a heavy plot, this game is not for you. If you are looking for major puzzles to solve with your superhuman intelligence, this game is not for you. However, if you are the type of person that laughs at the image of five of your minions passing by you on a sheep while stabbing it in the back or running by you with a chef's hat and pumpkins as their head armor then this is the game for you. Now don't get me wrong, there is a story line in the game and there are puzzles but there are better games out there if you want those specific games. What this game will offer you is hours of laughter. You control minions to do your bidding and destroy your enemies, move your items and set ambushes on unsuspecting passerbys. All the while you are rebuilding your ancient tower of evil. This is a perfect game for days when you come home and just want to have some fun. The online mode makes it even more so when you can compete with friends. Afterall, we all know that you are far better than your friend at ransacking the kitchen. Now let's see what you can do with a town. Tech wise, the controls are almost overly simple to learn and in just a few minutes you will be using your minions to smash things. The graphics are fantastic and the music helps to bring the whole world alive. While this game will not be winning any major awards, I will say that this is a "should have" title for the Xbox 360. So, what are you waiting for, come get this game. ^_^

    Very Addicting

Overlord is a very fun and addicting game for the 360. The black comedy and sarcasm is there right from the beginning. The game play in the beginning is almost child like because the game is very easy but as time goes on you will find this game a lot more challenging. Another aspect of thing game that makes it fun is the achievements. They are not so distant that you won’t even try to get the achievement in the first place. I would say there are a challengeable reach. Also it’s fun using your minions which is kind of like controlling a gang of Gollum’s.

I watched commercials on this game and was unimpressed, but after reading a review on a different website about Overlord, I decided to give the game a chance. Man, am I glad I did! The game is a ton of fun yet challenging at the same time. Playing as an Overlord, you get to control little "Minions" to do your dirty deeds in order to complete tasks given to you throughout the game. They kind of remind me of Gremlins from that movie back in the day, and their comments and actions within the game are very entertaining. While playing the game you are asked to choose between certain outcomes, like feeding a village or keeping the food for yourself, and these choices ultimately decide how evil or good you are as an Overlord. I've briefly dabbled in the online play of the game, but what I've seen so far has got me excited. This game definately has replay value, especially since XBOX 360 has its "achievements" catagory, but overall I would recommend this game for some good, strategic fun. ~7~

You might as well be Sauron of Lord of the Rings

You command up to fify minions with four classes, Blue: Healing, Green: invisible and jumping, Red: fire-archers, Brown: Grunts (who dress up in tons of different armor and weapons found around Middle Earth, er, uhm, the game). The flavor of the game is straight from the brewing vat of Fable, similar art style and musical score, in other words, excellent. British humor abounds and is very tongue in cheek. This is the best action fantasy game I've played since Fable. Very light, if any, RPG elements. You craft your own weaponry and armor through sacrificing minions, the degree and type of sacrifice determining the item's attributes. Inventive and fun. Highly recommended.

    Really Hilarious!! Lots Of Fun!

This is a great game for those of you who are like a "Dr. Evil" from Austin Powers. You will have a lot of fun using the minions, which are your servants or henchmen, to do all kinds of stuff. They remind me a lot of those little "Gremlins" from the "Gremlins" movies. They will make you laugh with their chatter and when they eat and drink you will love it. The game has a little bit of challenge to it, but it is designed more for just having a game to have fun with. There are the serious games where you are the soldier on a mission and stuff, then there is something like this where you can go bust out the potato chips and a soft drink, kick back on the couch and just have a good laugh. Enjoy this one!

    It's great to be evil.

The pure joy of commanding a small army of malicious minions more than makes up for Overlord's minor shortcomings. There are some little things that can be said that would be great fixes. But with an upcoming split screen patch and rumored DLC (downloadable content) - this game is going to an increased replay value. I really enjoyed the game from start to finish, I was engrossed in what little story there was, and it was a unique game for the 360. A sort of evil Pikmin if you will. It's fun to be evil sometimes, and sometimes it's fun to be really evil.

    A lot of fun

This game is a lot of fun. It's full of puzzles ranging from simple to complex. The only thing keeping this game from being an A+ is that it has a few annoying bugs that will force you to start over a few times to get past certain areas. It also saves the game a lot, but often at inappropriate times and sometimes it won't save before you enter into a boss battle, very annoying. Overall, it's worth a look if you're into this genre, just be prepared to do deal with the technical problems.
