I owned an older Panamax power management system that was very reliable, but its time had come...too many local power company outages and the salt air I presume...Anyway, the new MX5102 that I purchased is just right for my needs as well as many others I suspect. It prevents the occasional brown outs and brief power surges / lapses from effecting my cable box (i.e., no resets and waiting 2.5 minutes for the box to reboot)....which is a major pain. The UPS battery backup provides good / average battery backup; enough to deal with most common brief outages, but not too extensive....you'll need to go with a more capable / bigger brother model such as the MB1500 or combined with a BATT1500-EXT to add more time to your full back-up equation. Also, the power management system helps to clean up the power to provide a very clean signal, which is noticeable with the high end video systems on the market today. The only issue I have is with my subwoofer generating a loud popping sound when I turn the system on standby / off. This is simply an issue with how the components are plugged into the banks and should be easy to resolve. Overall, the MX5102 is a very reliable mid-range power management system. I would certainly recommend this unit to others - everyone should consider a system similar to the Panamax MX5102 or similar to protect your high dollar A/V investments.

My old Monster power strip died and I needed a replacement. Employee should me the difference between a power strip and power management. Tv and PC protected and even though the power rarely goes out, the battery backup is welcomed. Super easy set up and priced right. Not enough room to plug in larger adapters

Great for my entertainment system I even have my Gaming PC connected to it. It protects my expensive investment

If you are wanting protection from dirty power and surges, I would recommend this Panamax power management and battery back up system. Right off the spot you can see your power and see how is fluctuates by the digital readout on the front. it is great for having peace mind knowing that my home theatre setup is being protected from the dirty power. The battery is an added bonus, because I also can have peace of mind knowing that if power is totally lost that my components will be able to be safely powered down. Do not skip out on putting high end electronics on dirty power!

I've got another Panamax power management system and when I discovered this one with battery backup it made life even better. There are only two plugs that are backed up, but that's sufficient for my Tivo and cable adapters. Works well.

I reluctantly picked this up vs an additional surge protector/power strip as I was very skeptical about the Panamax a) impacting my audio experience with my new floor speakers b) providing a better power mgt system then a strip. In fact, I believe I hear a difference post Panamax and I immediately ran into a situation that provided value over a strip. After plugging in 2 speakers and 8 devices I received a warning that the power bank was overloaded- I wonder what would have happened if I were using the strip still. In summary, I am happy that I made the purchase although I don’t think I would have had it not been on sale.

I love this device and the fact that if not only filters voltage for the better but after seeing it in action a week after buying it, well, that made me smile. I was recording something on my DIRECTV and it didn't miss a beat. One wish would be that it had more then 2 outlets that are connected to the battery.

You have to give a little to get a lot. Takes up space and is heavy. Ask anyone who has heard about these and they will say they are the best surge protectors you can buy. If they have heard of these.

this is great keeps my items protected. I am able to see the volts coming thru so I know that it is working. great buy at best buy!

Found this on clearance at our local store- fantastic bargain for an excellent power management box and battery backup in one.

Our home is in an area under development and constant construction that makes it vulnerable to numerous electrical brown-outs, black-outs, power surges etc. Having over the counter surge protectors did not insure against a possible loss of very expensive A/V equipment. I decided to install the Panamax system as value protection insurance. Its price is very reasonable for the protection it lends. It was very simple to install and just as other Panamax equipment I have used in the past, it has worked flawlessly. I recommend it for anyone that values and wants to protect HD TVs, Hi-Fi speakers etc.

Mui bueno it works exactly as advertised just use the battery back up for WiFi not your tv

This unit works very well during the bad storms It give you a warning and if there was any failure . It's well worth it have 2 units and protects your AV stuff . And battery backup .

Great product to give peace of mind with all the power outages we have in FL.

I purchased this UPS for my media center. Rolling black outs and power spikes were causing havoc with my electronic and programming. No issues since installing this great device.

I considered top purchase this based off of its slim size which was important because my previous power conditioner would not fit in my new entertainment center. I eventually decided to purchase this based on the positive reviews from other users. Slam dunk. It's really amazing and it cleaned out the radio static from my A/V receiver's tuner, which I've had for years! Excellent! Highly recommended..

This is a must have for large entertainment centers. Battery backup on devices like Xbox and playstation prevent you losing your progress when the power flickers, or your DVR while in the middle of recording your favorite show. You can't put a price on that. Well, you can, and we got it on clearance!

This is a great unit. With the protection of the high current sockets separated from the other equipment, I feel it is safer for the system. The battery back-up is not necessary if you are not using a projector but it can be used for a wired drive. Not 100% sure, but there is noise filtering as well and it cleaned up my grounding. Vinyl players will benefit from the isolation and positive grounding.

Purchased to protect all my equipment from surges and voltage spikes and equipment resets with battery backup.
