It's a microwave. I put in food, press some buttons, and the food gets hot.

Great buy. Hidden aluminum got my old one. This has nice settings and looks good on the counter.

Why has buying a microwave oven become a horrible experience? It was nice to find one with cooking power 1200 watts. But when I got the thing home and the light does not come on when you open the door? Only when you are cooking? Called Panasonic to see if there was a problem and was advised you have to buy the next bigger size 1.6 cu. ft. to get that feature! So I took it back! major hassle! Decided to go with another brand. Seems this feature has become prvalent with most companies! Also most companies have cut back on the power to microwaves again? I had this argument hen I bought my first microwave in 1980. The salesman said 600 watts was all you will ever need! What a joke! Most people just use the microwave to heat things not to cook a full meal. If you choose to cook a meal it is better to have power and just cook at a lower level of power. Another problem They wanted my reviewbut would not let me type it all!!!
