When my old microwave died, I decided to replace it with a slightly larger capacity. After looking through the selection at Best Buy, I settled on the Panasonic 1.2 cu ft mid-size in stainless. I am very happy with the performance and happier still that this larger capacity microwave has smaller all-over dimensions. It's good looking and works well. I'd highly recommend it.

After doing a lot of research and reading a ton of reviews - bought the inverter technology Microwave Very happy with the purchase 2200 W powerful and enough capacity for a regular family. though we use it for a family of 2. Works fine - no problem till date almost close to 2 years now Only problem is the plastic on the buttons is peeling off - minor cosmetic problem otherwise no problem

For my purposes, this unit performs well. I is more powerful than the similarly sized unit that it replaces, so caution is advised in the early going with it. As other reviews mentioned, the light does not come on when it isn't cooking and I consider this a significant oversight, but it does not outweigh the pluses. And, my research at the time showed Best Buy to be the best price, with free shipping!

So far this microwave had been awesome. It is a step up from my super old 700 watt microwave. The ONLY issue I have with it so far is that the light doesn't operate when the door is open. It only operates when the microwave is running. I have read reviews and already knew this was the way it worked so I obviously don't care that much!! The unit has worked great so far and it looks good too!

    Inverter is a must have

I can't claim that it is better than any other microwave that uses inverter technology since this is the first one that I've owned but for my money I love the inverter technology. It has always annoyed me with other microwaves that if I set it to, say, 50% power it would go full power for some period of time during which the food might be popping and crackling and splattering all over if not covered, and then shut off for a while, instead of really cooking at 50% power. But the inverter technology solves that problem and often I can heat leftovers (and lets face it, that's mostly what we do with microwaves) without even covering them because heating at 50% power really works like you'd expect it to. To me this was a very big upgrade from the previous microwave without an appreciable difference in cost from non inverter models.

I've had varying success with microwaves in my life: most have been underpowered and anything but durable. Worst was a 600W mini microwave that took 6 minutes on HIGH to bring a single can of soup to a lukewarm temperature. The bowl was freaking hot, but not the soup. Bought an 1100W Panasonic microwave 10 years ago when we moved into our new house and it was the first microwave I owned that would actually heat food when run for the appropriate time. It's still going strong, so when I needed an additional microwave for my "mancave" I went looking for a similar model. Unfortunately, the one we have is installed into the wall, so getting the model number wasn't really an easy option. Did a quick Google Images search for Panasonic Microwave and viewed all the images until I found one that looks almost exactly the same as the one in our kitchen! Bought it straight away and have used it for a bit over a month now... and it's turned out to be just as awesome. Great price, great microwave -- large enough for a dinner plate, heats evenly and quickly. The power (1200W) is outstanding on this, for a non-commercial microwave. Popcorn button is almost perfect (seems to me 10-15 more seconds would pop a few more kernels without burning, but hey, close enough!) and on frozen dinners, I can choose the lower-end time and have it come out perfectly (i.e. if the dinner says "microwave on high for 5-6 minutes" then 5 is just right.) Very happy with the performance and value of this microwave!

This Panasonic Inverter microwave works fairly well. I am not totally impressed with the Sensor cooking, because whenever I use it, I always open and check to see if it is done before it is finished and it is usually hot enough for me to eat. I have not let it completely go through sensor cooking cycle yet. I think it would end up being way too hot if did. It does soften butter very well on power level 3 and for 1 minute. I mostly use it to heat up meals. I researched microwaves online and in the store and I thought the Panasonic Inverter microwave was the most innovative microwave on the market today. Watch the Panasonic Inverter video on Best Buy website for this microwave. It is very impressive what this microwave can do. I really don't have a lot of complaints other than no light inside microwave other than when it is cooking a light does come on. It does work fairly well for reheating, microwave popcorn, softening or melting butter. I haven't tried all the features yet, but I will. I keep the Operating manual close to the microwave so I can reference it when using the microwave. The size of microwave is good and looks very nice on my counter. I would like to suggest to Panasonic to put a cooking reference chart just inside the door, so I don't have to reference Operating manual when using. My last microwave from Sears did have this feature and it was very handy when using microwave.

Needed to replace our microwave, but wanted to go smaller, we were kinda hesitant on purchasing this one because the wattage is lower than our last one. We were shocked when we started using this, this microwave oven doesn't take up much space and is still powerful for everything we need, we thought that we would have longer run times to reheat/cook food, but this was not the case with this unit.

Great small basic microwave. Disappointment set in after I purchased this microwave not realizing that there was no light inside the microwave and does not light up the number/function keys on the outside panel.

I actually just had my microwave die on me. The good news is that I had it for quite a few years, so I just purchased the exact same one. Easy to use, not to large so it fits nicely in the corner. Good product, can't go wrong with it for the price.

Bought this microwave to replace a Panasonic that has lasted us forever but didn't fit the decor of our newly remodeled kitchen. Our old microwave was the best we ever owned, and this stainless steel model is the newer version of the one we're replacing. We've had it for about a month and it's been great! The 1200W of power is more than enough for anything we throw at it -- just be sure to err on the shorter side for directions with a time range (for example, if a TV dinner says 4 to 6 minutes on high, make sure you do just 4!) The popcorn button produces a FULL, perfect bag of popcorn every time. The fact that the light does not come on when you open the door is perfect for us, as we leave the door open for 10-15 minutes after use so it can air out. We didn't do that with our old one and it eventually begin to stink because all the odors would soak in. If I had any complaints at all, it's that this stainless steel version is TOO light... it's lighter than the old Panasonic we had and so if we push the buttons too hard, it moves around a little bit. Still, love this microwave!!

As I said above, I really like the overall size of this microwave and it does the job I need it to do. I use it daily for re-heating food & cooking vegetables and for defrosting occasionally. Compared to other microwaves I have owned this one seems to be a bit louder, but not to the point of being obnoxious. The thing I am least happy with is the Sensor Heating. The sensor is supposed to allow you to add the food, cover the food and then press the Sensor Heating. The sensor is supposed to turn off the oven when the steam level inside indicates the food is hot. The problem is that this process takes longer than regular heating and the reason is that the food is TOO hot and often overcooked. After the first few tries I quit using this function. Fortunately for me I did not buy this microwave to get the Sensor Heating function.

This is a fine microwave. Very powerful and a bit larger than the one it replaced. The sensor cooking is quite good -- better baked potatoes than the last oven. I would have liked a 30 second button, but it has a one minute -- a little too long for just warming something or melting cheese so you have to watch the food and the timer. There is no light when you open the door, there is one while the oven operates.

Best microwave in a long time and in white

Had a Panasonic before and loved it but I needed a white countertop because I dislike over range microwaves (dangerous for kids, spilling into your eyes, etc. etc). Best Buy has the best selection of microwave models. They are great. This model is small footprint, easy to use, a bit noisy, have to make sure it doesn't overcook compared to other models. Panasonic scores. I've had it two months and it is great.

Our last Panasonic microwave lasted over 30 years, so hopefully this one lasts at least half as long. Overall we really like it. It matches our oven and looks great. It works pretty well - gets stuff hot and cooked evenly. My only complaint is the roller occasionally gets stuck and is easy to knock out of place. It'd be 5 stars if not for that.

The unit has thus far performed as designed. It has heated food pretty evenly and is simple to clean up. My only complaint is that the plastic material covering the keypad is starting to separate and peel away from the start button area after only a month of moderate use. All-in-all, though, this product seems to be worth the money based on how it has been operating.

I replaced my old Panasonic microwave (that was almost 15 years old) with this new, smaller one. Hope it lasts as long as the old one! I love the look of the oven, and it's compact size. I don't really cook in my microwave, just do a lot of re-heating, and this one fits my dinner plate just perfect. It is great for softening up butter or cream cheese, etc. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is so noisy, and that the glass rotating plate very easily slips out of place when I remove something from the oven. Other than that, I love it!

A replacement microwave was needed by my daughter in college in another town. I checked on the Best Buy website. There were several options. This was on a open box special and had good reviews. It shipped quickly and arrived in a couple days. It has plenty of power to more than just heat up leftovers and make popcorn. The features make it easy to use and make meals quickly.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the strength of this microwave and the fact that I can cook things in less time than package instructions. It's easy to use and looks great in the kitchen. If I had one complaint it would be that the light does not come on when the door is opened. It only comes on when the microwave oven is cooking.

I wanted a slightly higher power microwave (1000-1100W), but with the stainless, mid-size, rotating tray, presets, etc. features, there weren't many. Panasonic has been doing these for years, so no risk there. It is great. Only "bads" are slightly noisy and the typical loud beeping when finished. We had a built-in Bosch ($800) which we loved, but come on for the price, this is great!
