    Defective display and nasty service

Bought the TV at Best Buy store in Tenleytown, Washington, DC. I unpacked the TV and set it up 7 days after purchase. Black spots and vertical lines of different colors appeared immediately after powering the TV. I packed it back in its box and took it straight back to Best Buy, expecting that they would simply exchange the TV. The Best Buy store manager, very rudely, explained that he could not accept the return. First he said I should have returned the TV within 3 days as that is the standard for pixelation problems. He could not show me any proof of this standard. then he said that the TV was damaged due to a fault of theirs (the box has sign of external damage, nor does the TV itself), and that the responsibility lay with either me or Panasonic. The fact that I am an "Elite Member" made no difference. He told that "I failed to understand their policy". I asked to see that policy. He ended up printing two pages off the website which say that "nonreturnable purchases include ... items returned that are damaged or missing major contents". I can't believe it! Why would they not accept to exchange a damaged item? He then said it would be different if the item had been shipped and hadn't carried it myself out of the store. Why would this make any difference? Was I supposed to unpack the TV in the store the day I bought it and demand that it be tested to make sure the display worked correctly?!? Who does that? So I filed a claim with Panasonic. The assigned technician, based on digital photos, ruled that it was "concealed freight damage", probably due to a fall of the box somewhere in transit. Best Buy won't take back this lemon of a TV, and I don't know what Panasonic will respond. Over $500 out of pocket, hours wasted, lack of respect, still no working TV. Awful experience. Will avoid Best Buy in the future.

    Specifications are incorrect

The specifications on this TV state that it has both component and composite connections. It does not. The component and composite connections are SHARED, so it is impossible to simultaneously hook up a component device (such as a Wii) and a composite device (such as an older XBOX 360 cable). This wouldn't be too much of an issue except that it also only has two HDMI ports. In addition, there is NO means to house/conceal the cables, and the cable inputs are way over on the right side, making the cable setup quite ugly. The stand seems flimsy and has no means to rotate the TV. This TV is going back.

Had the t.v. for 4 weeks and it started to shut off on it's own after being on for a couple hours. Best Buy only lets you return items up to 15 days so had to go through Panasonic under the warranty. Repair man "believes" it's the mother board but parts will be two weeks so two weeks without our brand new t.v. Is anything made to last these days???

    Eight Blinks of Death

TV failed just outside of warranty. Google Panasonic Eight Blinks. Repair cost $350. Panasonic thinks this is ok and offered no assistance. It is a well known product defect. Do a little research. Panasonic might be less expensive, but you will be surprised how quickly their TVs fail.

Worked good for the first month. Then one day the tv shut off and wouldn't come back on. After ten minutes the tv came back on and was back to normal. The next day it happened again tv shut off and this time wouldn't turn back on for the rest of the day. Not sure what the problem is. Other than that, the tv has some good features when it's working.

I bought a Panasonic smart tv and while picture sound ect are great, the aspects that make it a smart tv are awful. I can't use any video function on the browser bc I can't install/update flash and the apps are pretty boring. If your going the smart tv route don't go with Panasonic.

I had to take this back because the picture sucked. Plus the apps built into it just wasn't worth it.
