Great TV, but beware of ads!

I'm normally a huge fan of panasonic tvs (this is my 3rd one). Everything is great about this tv, except that it displays an ad banner on the volume bar when you adjust the volume every once in awhile. This really irked me, and I heavily considered returning the tv until I searched online for a way to disable it, and I did: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/turn-off-banner-ads-on-your-2013-panasonic-tv/ thus, panasonic lost a star on this nonsense. secondly, the tv has just 4 inputs: antenna, 2 HDMI, 1 component - normally I like to connect my iPod to it (which is routed through my home theatre system), but since there is not a standard "video" input, I had to use a RGB component connection, thus losing that ability to get the full remote access and surround sound via my HTS. back to the positives, once I connected the tv to my wifi, it was able to find my home network, and thus be able to display photos/music/videos (from a select folder of course) without any additional input from me. the remote is easy to use, the tv settings are easy to navigate, and this tv has a lot of great features to explore. so, aside from these two issues, I would recommend this tv to others - especially at $700.

At $700, the tv is an excellent value. Picture quality is good but can have some issues during very demanding scenes or when the quality of the broadcast is not great (cable or web). Full set of smart features. Works well with my Apple TV. The DLNA app connects well and I can play movies or music from my PC. Used HDTV picture calibration directions from Lifehacker.com which really helped get a realistic picture. Was able to play calibration file via DLNA as I don't have a blue-ray player. I really have enjoyed this tv for the 2 months or so , I've owned it. For my tastes, the preset calibration settings were either too bright, too cold, or too dark. Once I took the time to custom calibrate the screen, it really showed me what it can do. I watch a lot of 1080p video and I have to say the color accuracy is nearly perfect after calubratIon. I do think this display is a better choice for viewers that like a warmer picture overall. Black levels are very good as well. I have no opinion on the soun as I never tested The tv speakers. I spent a minimal amount of time using the Smart functions, but found them adequate. I already have FireTV and Roku integrated in my home so I don't really have a use for those functions.

This is my first TV over 37". I'm still getting used to the 3D ish effect. It's not a 3D tv but a smart one. I haven't used the smart part yet so I can't comment on that yet. On the plus side the picture is great for straight on viewing, but lacking at side angles. Meaning the colors are less vivid and more grayish. I like seeing the TV from the kitchen 20' away so that's a plus. On the minus side there has been a few times now when I go to turn on the tv the screen is all purple/pink color. I turn it off then on again and it seems fine. I'm not sure if it's my cable (dvr) box or the tv. It's pretty easy to assemble and the speakers are ok. It does lack a third HDMI imput so I can't connect a sound bar. Our Wii games play fine on it and so does the Blu ray player.

I paid $500 for this set during a sale and I'm very happy with it. It was a best buy on consumer reports and I think it really is. I have a comparable size Samsung and if there is a difference in quality, it's nominal. I saw another review that said they had trouble streaming Amazon movies but I did that and YouTube without any problems. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the sound quality is not great, but that seems to be the case on the other brands as well, and I guess you just have to get a sound bar. It's really only an issue when streaming but all in all, I would highly recommend this set. Good luck with your decision...

This is my first experience with a smart TV, and I must say that I am not impressed. The Viera browser is difficult to use with the remote. I wanted to stream from Tube Plus or Stream TV, but there is not enough memory. I still find it necessary to use Chromecast and stream from my laptop. Other browsers can not be installed.
On the plus side I am very happy with the picture. Colors are true and vivid. Blacks are deep, and I haven't noticed any blur with fast action shots. The dedicated Netflix button is a nice touch. The sound is slightly better than average. For the price, it is a good TV value (for those not looking for strong smart TV features).

This TV has a great picture on it, I can honestly say that is surprised me how good it was, as the last Panasonic TV I owned was a plasma and I was not to happy with it, but this one I would rank along as far as picture goes with the mid level samsung tv's and for sure better than the samsungs priced where this one is at. Now the sound I was not to thrilled with and ended up getting a sound bar, but any TV that has the speakers in the back and not the front have poor sound IMO. Even my Samsung TV's I have I had to get a sound bar for.

The Panasonic 50" Smart TV had the necessary features and benefits (Smart TV, Size, 120 refresh rate, HDMI, plus) as well as the additional discount. Best Buy did a good job communicating delivery window and showed up in that window. Best Buy's contracted delivery service did call prior to delivery. The two delivery people were efficient with the installation. The Panasonic 50 inch LED TV works well and no issues to date. Recommended to my brother and he uses additional features including smart TV and streaming of movies. He had some issues with delivery in his state.

We use this television in our living room. We have large windows on one side and a stairway/darker area on the other. The lighting on the set remains consistent and the color is true and rich. The HD quality works great with our cable provider's signal and sometimes I feel like I'm actually on the set watching the show/movie live. Sports broadcasts are smooth and vivid. The only drawback that I've found is that accessing the internet isn't very intuitive and is difficult to maneuver around in. Would be outstanding if it came preloaded with perks like HBO to Go and Hulu. As it currently stands, you can't even download the apps.

Overall I am very pleased with this purchase, was significantly less than comparable Vizio Samsung and even off brands, so it felt like an extra special deal. Only complaint is I wish the "smart features" were less there...meaning I want to select them when I want them, not always loading upon start up. Secondly, Amazon default app does not work and cannot be upgraded yet, which is a disappointment as we are Prime member and like some of the features/shows on there. Otherwise awesome picture and sound,

I have had my Panasonic for about a month now and I am enjoying it. The picture quality is great in HD, however ok when not using HD. I do not experience and freezes for skip when watching. Using my tablet to wirelessly share its screen on the TV is a plus, I do not have to have any additional wires dragging across the floor. It also has a web browser to surf the internet, however if you don't have a keyboard to use with it then pressing all of the letters to search can be a headache. Overall I think that it is worth the purchase.

The 50" Panasonic is awesome. It delivers a great HD picture whether I'm playing a DVD or streaming. The sound isn't all that (the reason only 4 stars instead of 5) but not many flat screens have great speakers anyway. I have the TV connected to a surround sound system which takes care of the below average sound from the TV. I'm completely content with the Panasonic and glad I decided to purchase it. I did some research and found that it was very well rated in many different sites and consumer satisfaction surveys.

This TV has a great combination of smart features and overall picture quality. I have a Chromecast hooked up and it's not strictly necessary since the TV will do pretty much all you want it to out of the box. Supports HDMI ARC and CEC for hooking it up to controllable devices, however there is a quirk where it sends a power-off command to my receiver when it starts up. Not critical, but it is annoying to have to fiddle with turning on devices in the right order.

I really love this TV, after 3 months of daily use. Picture quality is exceptional when using Bluray or HD source. Adjusting the TV to eliminate the "Soap Opera" effect is a must, but easily accomplished. The blacks are EXCELLENT! My only complaint would be regarding the red spectrum when viewing Netflix feed via SLOW internet. The Tv seems to treat reds in such a manner that it creates a "ghost" trail on the reds that are moving fast. i.e. lips, cars, etc.

This Panasonic Smart HDTV was a good buy. It's nice to enjoy all of the things it has to offer. The picture quality is clear and makes you feel as if you are literally watching live TV. The most disappointing feature is the sound quality. Although it boasts good sound quality we ended up purchasing a wireless system to give us the quality we were expecting. At the sale price, it didn't warrant us returning the TV.

Apps are slow Volume changes w/ input A lot of the apps are unnessesary. The games aren't even worth downloading on the tv The color is great from what I've seen Overall I'm fairly happy with my purchase. I just think they have some improvement to do with the interface It did accept my 2tb hdd when connect via USB. Only thing is the videos need to be in one of the limited video formats.

This is my first LED HDTV purchase and so far I'm pleased. Before I purchased, I compared it with Samsung, and the only difference was that Samsung TV picture was brighter, but I didn't really want my TV to be so bright. I'm still working on the color adjustments because there are so many, but I mainly leave it on "Vivid" and haven't changed it. I can't wait until I get Wifi to use the Smart TV features!

Purchased TV approx. one moth ago, but really haven't had a chance to explore its potential. Picture seems good, but has inconsistent background lights and darks when the background is light and blank. Don't know if that is normal or not. Sound was ok, but bought a sound bar and it made a world of difference. Counting on Panasonic's reputation to provide us with long time enjoyment of this product.
