Easy to use camera and video combination.

Better than a “point An shoot” and lot lighter

Good camera for general use

Great in many ways

I have even had some 24" x 36" enlargements made that show a lot of detail in the images. Have captured thousands of great memories. Only slight disappointment was trying to record the Milky Way.....that could be partially light pollution or limitation of the 8.8 mm x 13.2 mm image sensor.

Great travel camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Specifically bought this for a trip to Europe as my pro stuff is just too heavy with body and lenses. Would be nice if the FZ1000 were a little wider and the lens a little faster (it's f2.8-f4 but it moves to f4 rather quickly when zoomed). The 400mm equiv. reach is what sold me over the Sony RX-10. Super customizable function buttons and really quick autofocus and startup. Great electronic viewfinder. Image quality is okay given the 1 inch sensor... not dslr quality but it's not a dslr. I'm no video guy but it seems pretty straightforward and other reviewers liked the 4k video function. Came with an SD card and Shutterfly credit so was about the same price as Amazon.
