I purchased this because it can be operated with batteries in case of power outages. I really like the turn dial because it allows me to tune into the station without static. The sound is fine and the antenna helps with picking up the station. Better than digital.

Very clear reception, easy to use, good sound quality. This radio works well - a modern version of an old school basic am/fm radio. We were surprised it worked well even in our screened in porch that has a lot of metal framing - no other radio could get clear reception - this radio works better than expected. We’re happy with this radio.

I knew what I wanted. Not in stock. The clerk check it and they had it. Bought it and had it sent to my house! Perfect. Love it. Right next to a similar model I bought in 1964.

Great size, can be used with either batteries or plug in. Stations easy to tune in, decent sound quality. Would buy again.

Actually, this is my second Panasonic radio. I returned my first purchase after months of use as there was a problem with FM: signal vanished or turned weak if working for a while. I like this radio because its high quality sound and proper size make it a good companion of mine beside the bed. I listen to CBS, NPR, BBC and music every day; it has no SW band yet that does not matter in the times of cable TV and smart phone. It works for me requiring no electricity or Wi-Fi. At sight of resurgence of flip phone, DC, walkman and LP, there could be a possibility that radio set becomes attractive again; even that is not the case I still cherish the Sony and Panasonic radio sets I bought at Best Buy since they give me enjoyment, news and knowledge, more importantly the moment of non-disturbance and quietness with its unstoppable voice and sound.

Nice size, plugged in various locations in the house and so far reception is very good with clear sound, especially AM stations. I would definitely recommend it!

Great portable radio for everyday use, good sound and reception. Easy to use and looks sturdy.

My old portable AM/FM radio was on the way out; so I knew I needed a new one. I've had a number of Panasonic products over the years and had good luck with them. So far, this seems to be another good purchase. What I especially like is that this radio combines an analog dial -- you use the dial to find your station -- and digital tuning -- it locks on the station when you find it. It is great for pulling in weak stations, that are close on the dial to other stations, and keeping those stations tuned in. It also has a great speaker that can play very softly or really blast the sound. I'm really glad I bought this radio.

My elderly father loves to listen to the radio in his room. After purchasing several other portable radios which stopped working after a week or had poor reception, I finally found this radio at Best Buy. It's held up very well, gets good reception and is easy to use. The only downside is that the battery compartment is a little fragile and my father broke the cover off within a couple weeks.

Everything about the radio is great, it's good at finding channels and has a cool design. One thing Panasonic can improve on is desensitising the volume knob.

I purchased this radio for AM stations. The reception is good. As to FM stations, it is good as well. The sound is loud and clear.

The size is great and the fact that I can plug it in or use batteries in case of power outage.

I wanted a small AM/FM radio for a medium sized room. This one is very satisfactory for my purposes: good reception, good volume, small size, easy controls, right price. I am very happy with this product.

Bought mainly for power outages. Use it outside occasionally in the yard or shed. Very good AM reception. Local FM stations tune in clear while more distant stations, over thirty miles away, tune in good, but with a lot of static.

I compared my Panasonic RF-2400D to my Sony ICF-506 and the RF-2400D was better in reception (it picked up AM stations better) and better in audio (the RF-2400D has more treble which gave clearer audio for talk radio programs I listen to, while the ICF-506 has more bass which muddies voices on talk radio more). I think the ICF-506 dial is easier to read and the tuning knob and volume control are easier to use and the ICF-506 uses three AA batteries compared to the RF-2400D using four AA batteries. Overall, in terms of performance the RF-2400D is better and the ICF-506 is better in ergonomics, even though I am a Sony fan.

Bought this for my kitchen, so that I can listen to music while I am cooking and/or cleaning. The size is perfect, so it fits just about anywhere. Sound is good for such a small radio. I am loving it!

We bought this radio to replace another portable radio that had developed problems after at least 20 years of service. The Panasonic automatic tuning works very well, sound quality is very good for a small radio, and it seems to be very well made, overall. My only criticism is that the volume control goes from fairly quiet to moderately loud with a small turn of the dial, so that one may have to fiddle with it to get it right for an audible, but lower volume. Overall, we are very satisfied with this purchase.
