Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was looking for an AM/FM radio that could be turned On and Off with a wall timer. Most of the current AM/FM radios are totally digital and once turned Off, they won't turn back On without pressing the power button. The RF-2400D, however, will automatically turn On when power (AC) is restored because of the mechanical Off/FM/AM switch. Exactly what I needed. It should be noted that the RF-2400D is an upgrade to the previous RF-2400 and uses digital signal processing (DSP) to lock in the station. The radio is very simple to operate and has an internal ferrite-core antenna for AM and an external rod antenna for FM. There was a considerable amount of background noise/hiss in the lower AM frequencies but rotating the radio, as advised in the User Manual, provided a noticeable improvement. I think that Sony radios offer better sound quality, but the Panasonic RF-2400D offers better value. Definitely recommended!

Try to lower the volume and you have no sound. By the time it developed this problem it was too late to return. I should have made a stink and demanded my money back. Never heard of such a weird problem. Just DON'T BUY THIS RADIO. It's junk.

problems with the volumn

Tried everything recommended and nothing works. I am just going to have to trash it. Hoping to find another am/fm radio that will last a little longer.
