Was hoping to add this player to the upstairs living space as Oppo is no longer available but this was a huge disappointment.

Ordered during covid.
This is a low end player with a moderately high price tag.
On some dvds/bds, it shakes enough to rattle the flip down door.
I mistakenly thought it might settle down after some use but it has not.
Also thought I'd let it work for a couple of months, again to see if the drive might quiet itself and if it did not, I'd return it.
Ah... BEST buy... Short return period. I'd try another but have found my window is over by 6 days.
Back to Amazon for me.

No Dolby vision, HDR 10 plus useless, HDR trast

I got caught up in the hype, this player is not worth $2700 - $3335 at all
when I got my player from bestbuy it looked ok for the design not a wow! factor like you see comments throw out there. when I put in a blue ray disc it looked terrible, colors washed out, so I check the settings which you shouldn't have to do for a $300 player and the settings were set ok. so I put in another blue ray disc and it was terrible video quality.
so I put in a HDR disc and check the HDR settings and it looked terrible to me.
than I realize /remember that this player doesn't play Dolby Vision movies which I had a lot of dolby Vision movies and movies are still being made with dolby vision feature
a lot of these comments mention HDR 10 plus to get you caught up in the fake hype. there are NO HDR 10 PLUS MOVIES! worthless feature!
finally this player wouldn't connect to the internet at all.
so I returned it to bestbuy the next day and I will wait until the price drops on the Panasonic 820 which is able to play both dolby vision and hdr.
so until than I will enjoy my Sony x800 which supports Dolby Vision and HDR movies wonderfully!

Geek Squad Failure

While Product works, it's connection through Infinity remote not fully functional. Tried to have Geek Squad fix the problem the day after product was installed without success. Instead the Geek squad set up another appointment 8 days later (Dec 10). Today is Dec 11 and Geek Squad did not call nor did they show up for the appointment. On the phone now trying to reach someone to get this issue resolved.

Got a lot of good reviews but I don't understand why? Load times are terrible and watching a brand new 4K disc (Why Him) it locked up twice and got pixelated a couple other times. To be fair I had a high end Sony that keeps running into issues so maybe it's just my luck? I live in the country with terrible internet speeds so I need something that plays 4k discs without locking up...not sure why that's so difficult to find?

This is a very poor unit. It randomly stops and skips when playing DVDs or Blu-Ray movies. This first unit was purchased in 12/11/2021 and returned for a replacement on 12/31/2021. The replacement unit has the same defect. We are supposedly protected with the BB total tech proptection plan, but BB is reluctant to provide the protection we paid for.

Loud operation. I could hear the machine humming from several feet away. No digital coaxial output, which was the final crux for me.

If the player freezes and jumps please unplug all cables and USB devices from the player, then unplug the power cord for about 30 seconds then reconnect it. If the issues persist, reset the settings to the factory settings. Turn on the unit and press and hold the OK button and the blue button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds. “00 RET” is displayed on the unit’s display. Then press the arrow right button repeatedly on the remote control until “08 FIN” is displayed on the unit’s display. Following that press and hold the OK button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds. Please also make sure that the player is running on the latest firmware available for this model. We also use as wireless receiver for internet TV. Odd that the preloaded software, games and internet links all were very dated...newest was ~8 years old. Also occasionally freezes and needs reset

I purchased two. The 1st was returned for lack of streaming channels and tv hdmi port would not read attached device. The 2nd player arrived damaged yet the TV didn't read what hdmi was attached and was returned.

Had unit fail after 3 mos use was told i need new drive at cost of 218 plus 80 labor poorly built junk Buy the sony have had 2 x800m2 with zero issues also had a panasonic ub 420 it also failed after light use horrible disc read issues from day 1 look at weight 3.2 pounds vs sony almost 11 pounds Stay away from this overpriced overhyped junk

You can't leave it plugged in all the time, uses too much energy. Picture is not what I expected. No different than my other blue ray player. Alot of money for no better picture. Would love to be able to to return the product.

Can't connect to wireless without cable. Even after connecting to TV with HDMI cable and choose wireless, still cannot connect wireless. DVD-RW or CD-Rom

Wireless slowly rolled over and died

I've had this exactly five months now and the wireless has gradually gotten worse. Bringing up YouTube videos gradually became slower and less reliable. Never could get Miracast to work. Now it totally refuses to recognize or connect to wireless.
DVDs also now seem to start at arbitrary points rather than the menu.
Extremely disappointed in this unit.
