VERY HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE OF THE PANASONIC - STREAMING 4K HD HI-RES AUDIO model DP-UB820-K. Checking all the reviews I decided to chose this to go with my purchase of a Sony 77" 4K TV. It is very easy to use and really does compliment so many of my blu-ray videos that I own. For the money, this was a great choice!

This is simply the best 4k blu ray player one can buy. I highly recommend. My only complaint is that the remote is sort of cumbersome, but you can get used to it.

The tone mapping is well worth the price tag alone. I watched Saving Private Ryan in Dolby Vision 4K and was blown away. Not to mention the lossless audio compared to streaming is leagues ahead. Interface and remote aren't the greatest and can be a bit confusing getting to different settings. Otherwise it's the best value playe for the price.

I don’t get all the negative reviews. It’s pretty fast, makes non- 4K movies look great.Got it for $399. Unless it doesn’t work out of the box. Not worthy of the 1 star reviews, for all you comparing it to the Oppo player. Stop, it’s a very good upper entry level player.

The upgrade I made on this player was worth every penny. It’s the prefect compliment to my Oled Lg tv. Dolby vision is a monster upgrade to picture quality. The best 4k player you can purchase for under $500. I can’t see owning a Oled tv without the upgrade of this player. A little pricy for your average Joe but you will not be disappointed.

I had another brand 4k disc player. I generally only play discs when the kids come home. The old one worked twice, months apart and then quit. The clerk in the store recommended that the model that I had was the best of the ones that they stocked. I laughed, checked reviews on my phone and bought this one. This player has an awesome picture and sound. The dimensional sound is incredible. I haven't tried streaming through this since my tv and dvr also stream. My only complaint is that there aren't more 4k discs to buy...

Been using it for a few weeks on a few 4k movies. The audio seems to be slightly better than the LG UBK90 I had before. Some of the video seems slightly better as well on 4k discs, which was my hope. I'm looking forward to testing out it's improved upscaling of blu-rays, but haven't yet. I like that it is a little faster than the LG UBK90 I had before. The only thing that I'm not sure if it was a disc or player issue, was a freeze on one 4k disc, but the others I've watched were all fine. My main reason for updating was to get away from the disc skips and freezes, which I was having too often on the LG UBK90.

I have used Oppo players for the last 20 years and probably would still have my UHD-203 if Oppo had not decided to get out of the A/V business. I feared that their support for the players would get less and less, and then disappear. Sold my 203 and bought the 820, and I'm very happy with my decision. Wonderful picture and sound. Panasonic seems to update the firmware and functionality regularly. I considered the Sony 800m2, but for some reason Sony doesn't have automatic HDR10/Dolby Vision switching. The only complaint I have is that the setup is a little difficult to navigate for me. Otherwise it's great.

Definitely a bit better quality video than my Xbox One X. Definitely better sound as I always had to mess with Xbox dropping my Atmos settings. This hooks directly into my Denon AVR-X2400. Cons: -Slow boot. -Slooow Disc tray open/close -UI is old (don’t care, only there to load a disc) -Known issue with some 4K discs stutter/freezing for a few seconds. “Midway” is one of them. Two scenes in the same spot as everyone else online. Overall very happy.

Bought this along with a 65 inch LG C9 OLED TV. Also, purchased the Audioquest Carbon HDMI. Hooked it up to my Pioneer Elite receiver And what an amazing picture quality for movies. A Player with Dolby Vision is worth having.

Pretty much go to go right out of the box. I appreciate there is no loud grinding and buzzing sounds when the player boots up a 4K disc. It replaced an older Samsung 4k player and with my Denon Receiver it provides at home cinema bliss!

Nice piece of hardware. Quiet, nice up-scaling, all the features I could want or need. Love auto selecting Dolby Vision as required. Im lazy!

All the expert reviews say basically you get reference level video quality for $500 instead of the $1,200 higher build quality top level Panasonic. Sure that model is great, but it's out of my price range and all the additional features I don't need. It's also make with all metal and really nice looking, I don't care about that. I would if the price didn't matter to me, but I don't have that kind of ching. So far this things works and looks great. Remote could be nicer and backlit, but it's not bad... I am happy. The go to reference player that all the expert reviewers used was some Oppo model... and they no longer make them so Panasonic is the one now, and this model is the affordable version.

Great picture. Easy to set up. Audio options. 2 HDMI I would recommend.

I don't have any other 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray players to compare this to but I think it works great with my Sony TV. I specifically chose this version because it has the display on the front which shows the current runtime of the movie you're watching. I had been using a Panasonic Blu-ray player which was purchased in 2011 with my old TV. I only upgraded to this since I bought a 4k TV and wanted to watch Ultra HD Blu-rays. I like that the remote for this new player looks very similar to my old remote. I wish it was a little cheaper, but that's my only complaint.

If this review was solely based on picture quality, I would give it 5 stars. This is a vast improvement to my current LG UBK90 player. The playmode is smooth and quiet. Sadly that's where it ends. This was my 3rd purchase of a Panasonic player. Like the previous Panasonic players (Blu Ray), they have an outstanding picture quality, but the laser is too sensitive. Overtime, the sensitivity becomes amplified to the point, most of the discs have a playing issue (pixelation), despite having immaculate, dust/scratch free surfaces. I had this player less than a week and this issue became apparent. To confirm, I played the "problematic" discs on my LG and there was no issue. The fast forward/rewind, seems sluggish and not as responsive as the LG, despite running on the latest firmware. One other plus side for this player, is the handling of 100gb discs, which the LG falls short of (freezes). If there is firmware that can resolve these issues, I would consider repurchasing this player. Shame. I really wanted to like it.

Got this as a birthday gift to myself; if you're looking for a premium stepup from a standard blu ray player and are willing to put down the money
