I compared this to Sony and even the legendary Oppo, along with some other older high-end players. On video quality, this beat them all on 4k and 1080. The 1080 up-conversion was note-worthy in itself. Just be careful that you need all the extra features (e.g. output jacks) on 820. It's the same processors as the much cheaper and equally impressive 420!!!

Not cheap but better than my Xbox by quite a bit. Really like the features and the picture quality is much improved along with the audio. If you own discs the upgrade in quality it gives makes this buy worth it.

The picture from this Blu-ray player is phenominal! The set up was extremely easy and quick.

I have a Xbox one x. Sony x800. And lg k90 player. This one is clearly better in every way. The picture on my LG c8 has never looked better while watching 4K hdr. I am extremely happy

If you think the difference between a 4K stream and a 4K disc is negligible, think again. This unit really makes my tv shine. The detail is insane, even when compared to 4K constant from Netflix and Apple TV+.

As the title says this is simply the best 4K player out there for video performance. The only thing you can technically get better is Panasonics own UB9000 which has the same exact video processing but upgraded audio and it costs $1000.00. So for most folks looking to get the best video performance possible this is it! I had the UB900 which is a fantastic 4K player but the UB820 adds the new Video processor and will do Dobly Vision and the new HDR10+ formats. If you have a TV that may not get quite bright enough for true HDR then you definitely need this player as it will map the tone to your TV's capabilities. The sharpness and color reproduction of this player has to be seen to be believed. I have this player connected to a Sony 940E 75 inch TV and it's mind blowing! Even if you already have a 4K player sell it and get this one! It's that good!

A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny, especially if you own a high-end television set. Quality of picture and audio are amazing. I highly recommend it as it optimizes whatever you're watching to the best picture possible. The streaming services are kind of clunky but I rarely need them since I already have the apps built-in on my TV.

This player is incredible, this is the best my movies have ever looked and the fact that it auto switches HDR modes is best part about this player! Hands down the best player available currently

I purchased 5 Sony 4k high def players in 4 years . I bought this player because of the reviews.I am so glad I did this probably in my opinion one of the best players I own glad I made that decision! Thanks Panasonic for producing such a great Player.

Very sharp quality picture on a 4k tv. Plenty of features that makes this unit for playback and other streaming options.

Best player I have ever owned. Upgraded from an LG 4k player and very noticeable difference in picture quality. Also eliminates the dreadful manual change for Dolby vision content

This Bd player has outstanding image and sound quality. The best I’ve seen on my Oled. That’s really the most important features of a bd player for me. A couple minor downfalls: very limited add-on apps seem to be available. Specifically, Vudu, Hulu, and movies anywhere are not available. I also get a strange pop up menu that randomly appears and doesn’t go away unless I restart. It seems to be tied to the vierra and only happens when using a third party remote. Doesn’t happen when I use the panny remote.

Best bang for your buck. Has everything you're looking for in 4k content. Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, region free, HDR, 7.1 surround, and at a good price. It's your best option. Cheaper models don't have Dolby Vision and more expensive ones just have a few extra bells and whistles.

If you are looking for the very best 4K player at a reasonable price, then the Panasonic 820 player is your only choice. The picture quality and sound will blow you away. I couldn't believe that going from regular Blu-Ray to 4K would be that much better.

Setup was simple, although it didn’t connect to the internet on the first try. Working fine now, updated firmware. Only have 1 - 4K title so far but played flawlessly. Steaming services work as expected. Worked perfectly with Harmony universal remote and hub.

Beautiful picture and great sound. Needed to upgrade to high speed HDMI cables but well worth it.

THIS IS THE BEST 4K DVD BLU RAY PLAYER. I WAS GOING TO GO WITH THE SONY 4K DVD PLAYER, I TOOK IT BACK PAID THE EXTRA MONEY AND GOT THE PANASONIC STREAMING 4K ULTRA HD HI-RES AUDIO WITH DOLBY VISION AND MORE DVD PLAYER.

Postponed buying an Oppo when it was available. Fortunately, Panasonic stepped in. Fast loading, easy setup, and quiet. Streaming services are limited but I purchased it for UHD playback, not streaming. Would have liked a digital coax audio output.

This was an excellent choice. Great picture and easy to operate.

First had DP-UB150-K and was very pleased. Moved it to our spare TV when finally upgraded living room last summer. As I have both Sony tv and receiver, I figured I would go with Sony UBP-X800M2 to take advantage of universal Sony remote. When half of the movies were freezing up (and had to reboot machine) near back end of film, I switched to this Panasonic unit. No regrets. If there has been an issue, its usually because of a dirty disc. Cleaning did the trick for Panasonic, but did not avoid freezing on the Sony. Only annoyance I have is Panasonic's insistence of having the mini three-line status window stay on up in top right of screen upon return from sleep mode. Not that hard to hit remote button to turn of it... just should not have to.
