I was impressed with picture quality, but if you have a NAS it may not be able to process all of you audio/video formats. 4k disc playback was amazing but I ultimately returned.

Great quality picture and sound. Only complaint is the operating system. It looks like it's from 2005.

If you have a projector then you must have this player

I have had this 4k player for a few months now and it is the nicest player ive owned. It is a bit pricey, but is 2nd best to the Oppo players. This has everything you will need in a modern visual/audio technology. You wont regret your purchase.

This is the bluray/dvd player with the most settings I have ever owned, and it can receive updates from Panasonic too. The base format seems to be very complimentary to what anyone may have and then there are plenty of ways to customize for you setup.

Content playback visually on this unit is superior to most brands on the market. However, every time I adjust the audio settings to pick up Dolby Atmos, 4K UHD Blu-Ray movies experience sound cut-out 45 - 60 minutes into the movie. The unit and/or the AVR has to be reset to turn the sound back on for it to start skipping out again and again until the movie concludes. Turning Dolby Atmos off, I do not experience the sound cutting out issue. I own a Denon AVRX8500HA receiver and running audio via HDMI out from the blu-ray player. I have tried fiber optic and standard HDMI cables, and still getting the same issue. Disappointed to have spent so much money on a glitchy unit.

I've owned this unit for less than a month and have had nothing but issues with it. I spend more time troubleshooting these issues than I spend enjoying content on it. Dolby Vision, one of the main reasons I purchased it, cuts in and out, sometimes it will play Bluray movies with the sound but no picture, it freezes up and constantly has to be turned off and back on to get it to work - too much work just to watch a movie. I now have a $500 paperweight. Not impressed or happy with the purchase. Absolute junk!

Excellent player. It has a very easy to use interface and remote. It looks very high quality.

This is the best UHD player around. Allows for netflix and Amazon streaming too. Get adjust ability for HDR and projector setup. I think this player should be required item for every HDR projector installation. Very well done Panasonic!!

This is a really great Blu Ray player especially the brightness feature.

One of the worst players ever. Audio drop outs, random distorted colors, major disc freezing. Cannot watch a movie, period unless it is a regurlar blu ray. The ub820 is incapable of reading discs with as much data as a 4k disc has. Paid $550 for this player. Extremely dissappointed. Panasonic will not return emails.

What more can i say that hasn't already been said this is the best 4k player you can get other than the 9000 with is 1,000 bucks the HDR optimizer is simply amazing if you want a reference quality player and you want the most out of your display then get this player.

Bought this after reading existing reviews and not having much luck with my Sony UBP-X800M2. It is really this good. I am using this with my home theater system through an eARC setup and Denon AVR-X2800H receiver. It works perfectly and the picture is great.

Hands down the best blu-ray player I've experienced. Quality is unsurpassed. Cannot comment on 4K disc playback because my television does not have HDR; but just for blu-rays, the cost was worth it.
